Abstract

The issues raised in this research is the role of literacy in the ability to speak class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan academic year 2013/2014. While the purpose of this study was to determine a clear picture of the role of literacy in the ability to speak in class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan 2013/2014 school year. This research is a descriptive study, research subjects were all students of class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan academic year 2013/2014. The sample in this study were all students of class VIII A SMP Budi Agung Medan totaling 37 students. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of the analysis can be taken, among others: a) The role of literacy in the ability to speak class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan academic year 2013/2014 as a whole was moderate with an average of 7.5. (B) Orientation reading skills to speech class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan 2013/2014 academic year, judging from the amount of the sample of 37 students as follows: high-ability students numbered 15 people. Students are capable of being numbered 17 people, and low-ability students amounted to 5 people. The conclusions from the results of this study indicate that the role of reading ability affects the ability to speak class VIII SMP Budi Agung Medan academic year 2013/2014 and can affect students in thinking and develop his talents.

Abstract

The first three years of a child‟s life is the golden age for a child‟s growth and development. Therefore, this age range became interesting to research the stage of achievement of what works performed by three years old child in terms of language acquisition. The subject of observation, Azra 3 years old with focus on the subject of language development in terms of phonological, syntax, semantics. The reserach found the children three years old mastering the overall sound of the vocal but some sounds diphtongs. In the consonant sounds there are still barries to the sound /r/ and /s/. In terms of syntax, the achievement of children in forming a sentence like: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and complex sentences have resembled an adult sentence, although there are some mistakes that are generally still acceptable. Finally , in terms of semantics subject still have difficulty in understanding the description of time .

Abstract

This study sought to describe the similarities and differences between Javanese and Indonesian so that the Indonesian learning, teachers can anticipate the inference to be performed by learners. Java language, a research study with a cognate language Malay so that this language has much in common with the elements contained in Indonesian. The problem addressed in this study, namely the form of the verb affixes system contrastive Javanese and Indonesian. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative content analysis techniques. The theory used is the theory of contrastive analysis. The findings obtained from the results of this study, there are similarities and differences in the form of the verb affixes system contrastive Javanese and Indonesian.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the componential analyisis of meaning “mencuri” in bahasa Indonesia to contribute the Indonesian Big Dictionary (KBBI). The entry of that word in dictionary is not completed, so this research can give the rigid explanation. The word of “mencuri” can separated to three or less other word likes “mencopet”, “mengutil”, “merampok”, “membegal”and “menjambret”. All of them is the act by someone to steal the others owner. Method of this research is descriptive qualitative that the researcher tries to expalian one by one the subordinate of „mencuri‟ word. Finally, the word “mencari” have a different meaning espsecially about the meaning component.

Abstract

Meaning the unit external linguistic pragmatics or also called a special meaning in the English speech act verbs Simalungun include Assertif, Representative, Directives, commissive, Expressive, Declarative or Declaration. Expressive speech acts within speech act verbs excitement statement, can also be used in the speech act speech act verbs commissive the Promise. Speech acts Asserti Representative in the speech act verbs. A statement of fact, can also be used in the speech act speech act verbs commissive in Sadness statement. Expressive speech acts within speech act verbs passions would be something, could also be used in the speech act speech act verbs Directives in the Application.

Abstract

Utsukushisa to Kanashimi to novel was written by Yasunari kawabata, published 1969. This research followed by the analysis of gender construction Otoko within patriarchy environment. Feminist literature critism is a discourse emphasizing on how literature should be done through feminist perpektive. The important things of feminist literature critism are the way the women are described, how a text could be related to gender, and any feminist ideas depicted in the story. The result of this research proves that Otoko faces gender construction such as marginalization, subordinations, sterotyping and sexual violences. Meanwhile, the ideas of feminism in the story are about a woman‟s independence.

Abstract

This research is a normative research about evaluation language used in scietific works (thesis) at private universities in Medan. This research aims to create the used of standardized and welformed Indonesian language at university students, even at state or private universities in Medan with national standard for scientific works. To applicate that the book of Ejaan, Diksi, Istilah, Kalimat, dan Pernalaran is used (Moeliono et al., 2001) dan (Alwi et al., 2001). The research uses survey with descriptive qualitative and quantitave to find actual uptodate, and factual language data by doing scientific writing research at state universities in Medan. This research uses coding and directed observation techniques in using scientific writing of Indonesian language at UMA, UMSU, UDA libraries. This choosen domain based on that the domain is assumed influencing university students language in North Sumatera. Therefore, the presented data is language phenomena and image at university student scientific language in Medan. The result of this research shows that Indonesian langugae used at thesis has many mistakes or errorness, such as spelling system, conjunction, sentence structure and interpretation, thus morphemes, dictions, and terms.
