Abstract

This paper presents an explanation of the understanding, the scope of scholarly communication and its relationship with the publishing business related to serial crises, open access, and the potential extension of the role (extended role) of academic libraries. Currently the role of the library only focuses on user education programs (library instruction) which aims to disseminate the collection/resources library and its search strategy, especially those that are online or electronic. This role is only alluding with a small area of scholarly communication, namely discovery and dissemination. A wider role is information literacy programs, whose materials are packaged, expanded and aligned with the dynamics and scores of scholarly communication. This role is expected to spur engagement and contribution in developing a scholarly communication environment that is conducive to the development of science.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the movement and literacy activities of the community in the District of Bandung. The focus of this research is on how the activity of literacy done by the community through the activity in Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM). The scope of this research is about the role of TBM managers, attention to the problems of community literacy, community response to literacy movement and how the role of related parties such as government, regional libraries and others in supporting the literacy movement developed in TBM. The method used is qualitative method with case study approach. Data were collected through observation and indepth interviews. The result of this research is to get the picture that TBM-TBM managed by informants is TBM-TBM active in growing movement of literacy. Various literacy activities are actively carried out in various forms such as reading activities, discussions, workshops, training, competitions, exhibitions and storytelling. TBM managers actively inflame the literacy movement within the surrounding community. Community participation is quite high considering that the manager of TBM always actively make efforts of community involvement. Support from the government, especially the District Library Bandung is felt very meaningful and beneficial for the continuity of TBM and literacy movement. The partnership network is built actively with various parties, both government and private. The informants in the study as a whole are open to collaborating and sharing information, knowledge and experience in managing TBM and developing literacy movements in their communities.

Abstract

Hoax is a news or statement that has invalid information or fake that does not have a certainty that is deliberately spread out to make the situation becomes excited and cause fear. HOAX maked many reactions in society, debates among peers, even family conflicts, even RASIS with disagreed parties. This paper is a literature review, will further discuss how the role of the library as one of the information institutions and become a language partner in this case is UIN Imam Bonjol Padang embodies the students who become literary generation. UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Library can implement the following activities: Smooth information, user education, library instruction, bibliographic instruction, information competence, information skills, and information skill development. Then the student is also expected to have knowledge of hitches or HOAX news through the following stages: Consider the source, Read beyond the headline, Check the author, What is the support ?, check the date, is this some kind of joke ?, check your bias, and Consult with experts.

Abstract

Islamic is a religion that governs the relationship between man and God, between human beings and man with the natural surroundings, called Shari'ah. The rules of Islam are universal-universal, not everyone can understand them easily and perfectly. To understand Islam in a perfect, detailed-partical way, it is necessary to find the explanation by understanding the context of the sentence literally and literally-implied by the system And classification of existing data and facts, this is called information, that is seeking an explanation or truth about something that happened.

Abstract

This study is intended to describe social workers as agents of change. Social workers as a profession in Indonesia is still synonymous with the social profession which means working socially, done with voluntarily and not expecting an intention. The scope of this study is on volunteer social workers in rural libraries or in prisons libraries. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data acquisition through interviews, observation and literature review. The results illustrate the point in the library become the most desirable place for inmates to make the most of their time in search of entertainment and knowledge. The village library can be a place for people to engage actively in activities such as practicing computers, preserving local culture and knowledge, and entrepreneurship training. The conclusion of this study is that libraries, both village libraries and prison libraries can contribute to improving the quality of life of the community. The Profession of Social Workers participates and functions as a agent of change by involving themselves as educators, facilitators, community facilitators and partners for the government and the private sector

Abstract

One Person Librarian is a librarian who manages libraries in an institution / institution alone. This phenomenon has become increasingly common in libraries majoring in / faculty of universities apply this model. This can be due to a lack of professional librarians and cost efficiency. The author is a librarian who manages library majors alone, or often called One Person Librarian. Abstract

This paper discusses the level of burnout in library staff, burnout is a term that describes the emotional state of a person who is tired and mentally, emotionally and physically saturated as a result of increasing job demands. The main source of burnout is due to the stress that develops continuously due to the long-term involvement of the provider and the recipient. Symptoms of burnout can be felt on physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms. The burnout factors can come from marital status, gender, age, and work hours.

Abstract

Yogyakarta City Library as the pride of information literacy should be able to provide optimal services to the librarian. One way that can be done is to provide a complete and latest collection so that their information needs are met. But in the fulfillment of information needs, not infrequently pemustaka who perform acts of vandalism (destruction of the collection) even recorded some missing books and did not return to the library. Things to note related to the problem is the application of security systems implemented by a library. Therefore this paper aims to find out how the application of security system collection in Yogyakarta City Library. The method used by the author in this article is qualitative descriptive that is by conducting interviews and observations to the Yogyakarta City Library. From the results obtained, the overall security system used by the Yogyakarta City Library is quite good, ranging from the physical aspects (doors and windows) that already use the trellis so as not easily accessed by thieves, the use of CCTV to monitor all activities in the library, tighten lending With collateral to minimize damaged / lost books, locker provision and intense supervision of librarians and security personnel.

Abstract

University library services in the digital era is identical with the information technology-based innovation. Flip book application can be presented to become part of the innovation. The Library of Medicine Faculty, UPN Veteran Jakarta trying to develop virtual read tools service application using the flip book. The method used is from Pressman’s called the waterfall model. The waterfall model is planning, design, programming and testing. After the development is finish, obtained that the flip book application can be developed with the additional source code from the side of the web server. The added source code is the javascript, one of programming language and the framework is turn.js. The test was conducted by the local in the Windows 7 operating system and for online version at the Centos 6 operating system. The test results that the flip book application can be running well and can be used as an alternative service innovation in university library.
