Abstract

Variable refrigerant flow type is a multi-split type air conditioner for multi-story buildings. The aim of this study getting obtains optimization placement of the condensing unit to inlet air temperature in a multi-story building using the CFD method. The simulation was conducted from the 11th to the 30th floor. There are three variations of condensing unit position on each floor (Variation 1), on every two floors (Variation 2), and on the roof (variation 3). The result of the first variation is 35.32 °C, with the difference between the highest and lowest is 3.9 °C. The average temperature of the 2nd variation is 34.44 °C, with the difference between the highest and lowest being 0.92 °C. The average temperature of the 3rd variation is 36.65 °C, with the difference between the highest and lowest being 8.03 °C. Among the three variations, the 2nd variation of the condensing unit input air temperature is lower. Then the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures is not too far apart, indicating a more even distribution of air. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd variations condensing unit position do not exceed Panasonic VRF air conditioner operational temperature limit, which is 52 °C.

Abstract

To determine the aircraft’s flight performance, the airfoil type must be considered when designing the wing. A vortex can form when the airfoil travels through a fluid stream with a difference in velocity and pressure around it. Airfoil modification is carried out to delay the occurrence of flow separation by adding a vortex generator. This paper discusses how adding the vortex generator helps slow the stall’s onset and how the vortex generator affects the fluid flow and aerodynamic forces acting on the NACA 632-415. The vortex generator profile is positioned at an x/c = 20% of the chord line’s direction from the leading edge. The variation used is an airfoil’s angle of attack (α). Some parameters to be evaluated include the coefficient lift force (CL), the coefficient drag force (CD), and the gliding ratio (CL/CD). The research was conducted by the CFD method based on the angle of attack that produces the coefficient lift and drag forces. The addition of the vortex generator can delay the flow separation, increase the lift force coefficient by about 24.9%, the drag force coefficient by about 2.7%, and the gliding ratio by 9.1%.

Abstract

The results achieved for the research objectives of the Soweto Wind Turbine project were very encouraging. During comparison of prototype energy delivered versus time of day/month, results showed the energy production of Prototypes 1, 2 and 3 per month during operation at Soweto. It was observed that Prototype 3 outclassed Prototype 1 and 2 in terms of energy generated per month. Prototype 3 achieved 39.5 W output per wind speed of 1.17 m/s and was predicated to generate a maximum 40 kWh per month. Following information can be found in my recent published article, Implementation and Evaluation of a Low Speed and Self-Regulating Small Wind Turbine for Urban Areas in South Africa published at Engineering, Technology and Applied Science Research [ETASR] peer review open journal. This paper will present results on a predictive study which was subsequently done on implementing the same technology in the coastal regions of South Africa such as Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), where prevailing winds are much stronger. The results showed that, utilizing the empirically obtained data in Soweto, projected an energy output of up to 54.3 W per wind speed of 5.16 m/s (18.6 km/h) and up to 100 kWh per-month.

Abstract

An elevator or elevator is a means of conveyance found in high-rise buildings to make it easier for people to move quickly to the desired floor. Currently, the motor that is widely used as an elevator driver is a three-phase induction motor. The output of this three-phase induction motor is in the form of torque to drive the elevator. Of course, the number of passengers carried by the elevator has a different weight so that it will affect the power and torque generated by the motor to transport these passengers. The method used in this study was to collect data in the form of data on the number of passengers and data on lift motors at Madani Hospital by observation. Then after the data is obtained, measurements and calculations are carried out to obtain the torque, power and speed of the elevator motor. The results of this study are with a passenger load of 0 kg, 196 kg, 678 kg, 891 kg and 1,122 kg, when the elevator goes up the more the number of passengers, the greater the power and torque of the motor. The magnitude of the motor mechanical torque needed to move between floors is the same, if the distance between the floors is the same. The addition of passengers does not affect the speed of the elevator motor because the elevator moves constantly.

Abstract

QoS (Quality of Service) measurement of LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks is carried out using the Telkomsel provider. Measurements were made in Perawang, Riau at night. QoS measurements are carried out at Perawang to evaluate and monitor network quality in accessing vidio streaming services provided by the Telkomsel network in the Perawang, Riau. Measurements were aimed at 5 streaming applications, namely YouTube, RCTI+, Online Radio, Twitch, and Vidio. The reason 5 applications are used for QoS measurement is that these applications are popular applications used in the category of Vidio streaming applications. Measurements were carried out for 160 seconds. The measurement results will be analyzed for quality based on the TIPHON standard. The results were obtained by calculating the data that has been obtained by Wireshark. The data will be calculated using the existing equations. Twitch is the only application that has a value of four in the QoS parameter index category and has a QoS value with an excellent index category. 4 other applications have a QoS value with a good index category. This is due to the low value of the throughput index category. Online Radio and Vidio applications have an index category value of 0. YouTube and RCTI+ applications have a throughput index category value of 1 and 2 respectively. For jitter, packet loss, and delay values, 5 streaming applications have an excellent index category with a value of 4. The measurement results that have been obtained would be displayed in the form of tables and graphs.

Abstract

This study investigates the conversion of mangrove wood charcoal into graphene using high voltage plasma technology through arc discharge. The experiment involves heating carbon with high voltage plasma generated from rod and plate electrodes. The variables examined are the electrode distance and carbon treatment time. The results demonstrate the successful conversion of mangrove wood charcoal into graphene. The generated plasma is influenced by the electrode distance, with a 1 cm gap producing stronger bluish-orange plasma. Varying the treatment time also affects the graphene yield, with a 3-minute treatment generating more graphene compared to 2 minutes, and 2 minutes yielding more graphene than 1 minute. XRD analysis reveals characteristic peak shifts indicative of graphene presence. SEM analysis confirms the graphene structure with porous features and sub-micrometer sizes. SEM images and diameter data further validate the successful conversion of carbon into graphene. These findings provide a foundation for the development of high voltage plasma-based production of graphene from mangrove wood charcoal. The utilization of a 10kV Neon Power Supply transformer enables the generation of high voltage plasma for the carbon-to-graphene conversion process. The electrode distance in the transformer plays a crucial role, as greater distances result in higher voltages, while shorter distances lead to lower voltages. This research significantly contributes to expanding the knowledge and application of graphene in various scientific and engineering fields. Moreover, the understanding of how electrode distance affects the generated voltage using a Neon Power Supply transformer is an important finding for optimizing the performance of this type of transformer.

Abstract

Inayah's car rental is one of the business sectors in the field of transportation services at Pekanbaru, Riau. Inayah car rental carries out management activities for car rental management that can be rented from daily to monthly. Management of rental transactions is currently done manually by recording customer data and storing customer guarantees in the archives that have been provided. Problems arise when the data is lost or damaged while the car is on the customer's side. In addition, other issues arise when a customer cancels suddenly on that day, or the customer's uncertainty about car rental will impact other customers who are serious about renting a car at that time. From these problems, we need a system that can automatically manage, store, and manage car rental transactions using Android. The development method in this study uses the prototype development method. The Prototype is a development method that involves users in system development. Based on the research results, we get a very good interpretation of the standard quality of the ISO 25010 system test, functional, performance, reliability, maintainability, security, usability, and efficiency.
