Abstract

Sounding is the process of measuring and calculating a product to find out the amount. In the process of CPO sounding, measurements are made of the temperature of the oil in the storage tank. Storage tank is a tank used to store crude palm oil (CPO) produced before shipping. Sounding crude palm oil is an oil measurement process that includes the measurement of CPO levels and temperatures as an item to get the mass of CPO (kg CPO). The process of measuring the volume of oil is done using a sounding meter dipped in CPO in a storage tank to the measuring table. Temperature measurements are carried out using a thermometer that is inserted into a storage tank. In conditions on the ground that the measurement of the storage tank or storage tank is done manually to calculate the tank volume and there are many weaknesses. In this study, we will describe the sounding technique or measure the volume of oil in a storage tank by means of automation, where the automation system is designed with the aim of being able to carry out the measurement process on the storage tank in an automatic way. The results of this study can be concluded that measurements on storage tanks can be done automatically with the help of the HC-SR04 proximity sensor, thermocouple sensor, flow meter sensor and Arduino UNO which are passed on to laptops and gadgets, where based on the results of the experiments carried out the percentage of accuracy is obtained each sensor starts from the proximity sensor with 99.98%, temperature sensor 99.47% and flow meter sensor 99.88%.

Abstract

PT United Tractors Tbk Loajanan-sanga site backs up a large number of customers, one of which is PT. RCI (RPP Contractors Indonesia) which is engaged in coal mining with the Komatsu D375A-6R unit which is used for dozzing and ripping. From the D375A-6R unit at PT. RCI experienced Troubleshooting on engines which caused Blow by pressure high, which resulted in the engine low power and could not run because the oil engine continuously exited from the oil engine filling hole, if the engine is forced to operate it is feared that the engine oil will run out and the engine components it will experience excessive wear and can also experience jammed which results in the maximum performance of the D375A-6R komatsu unit.

Abstract

At least until 2017, a very low production capacity coupled with livestock methods that are still traditional causes almost all major livestock commodities in Indonesia to close their deficits through imports. Meat, milk, eggs, and even the skin, all of them still cannot be fulfilled entirely from the country. As much as 83% of raw material for the dairy industry is imported. Leather processing industry, importing raw materials for cow leather by 3 million pieces and 13.5 million pieces (sheep and goat skin). Specifically for beef, it was noted that 2016 was the highest volume of beef imports reaching 132.74 thousand tons. As for eggs in general, the pattern of development of export volume is lower than the rate of imports per year. Data on chicken meat imports and their values during the 2012-2016 period showed quite high values compared to export volumes. Knowledge of industry value chains is needed to explore the gap in the dependence of imported raw materials. The value chain analysis carried out in the livestock base industry chain shows a map of the relationship between a number of livestock industry bases in Indonesia so as to facilitate the breakdown of dependence on raw materials. Analysis carried out on the main chain (livestock base) and joint chain (supporting base). Five farm-based industry value chains have been assembled, namely: 1) beef-cattle base industry; 2) industrial livestock-poultry meat base; 3) dairy-based livestock industry; 4) leather-based industry base; and 5) egg-based livestock industry. Core industries or prime movers namely: a) RPH on beef chains, b) industrial pasteurization in the milk chain; c) tanning industry on leather chains; d) food freezing industry on chicken meat chains; and e) egg packing house on the egg chain. The existence of the core industry greatly determines the position of the raw materials of the downstream industry.

Abstract

AVR on an electric generator is a device that serves to maintain the stability of the generator output voltage. KP Shark 06 suffered AVR damage twice in 2017 which affected the operations of the ship so it is necessary to analyze the cause of the damage. The steps to analyze the causes of AVR damage starts from the factor of overload on the electricity generator, the working condition of the electric generator and the motor driving factor of the electric generator. Based on observations and calculations of the ship's electricity load, it is known that there is no overload of electric generators, ie the average per day / hour of power used is 6,009.75 Watt, where the available power is 17,600 Watt (generator efficiency 34.14%). While the work of the generator is observed normally based on the results of the measurement of the electric current produced by the generator. It was concluded that the cause of AVR damage was due to the generator driving motor which experienced a decrease in performance so that when subjected to electric load the engine rotation experienced instability which caused voltage fluctuations where this caused the AVR to work abnormally resulting in AVR damage. After repairs to the generator drive engine during ship docking, the engine rotation of the electric generator drive motor becomes more stable and the working function of the AVR becomes more normal.

Abstract

Some of the damage that occurs in the structure and construction of engine elements that experience dynamic loading at the time of operation is caused by fatigue (fatigue), which occurs without beginning signs so that it causes great damage and loss. Fatigue strength is the process of local changes in the structure that occur permanently in accordance with the period of time caused by conditions where stress or strain occurs which results in cracks or fractures after being subjected to repetitive loads. Surface roughness factors that affect fatigue are applied in the analysis and application of machining, which are finely grinded and rough machined. Analysis was carried out on 6063-TF aluminum alloy material which is widely used for motor vehicles. To find out the effect of the above, the fatigue strength test is carried out with a Rotary Bending Fatique Test to obtain a cycle value or fatigue age and certain neighbors so that it can make a semi-log S-N diagram with statistical calculations.
