The results showed that patients had a good family role of 151 respondents (51.0%), and for self-care patients who needed as many as 125 (42.2%) assistive devices. There is a significant relationship between the relationship of the role of the family and self-care in schizophrenic patients p-value = 0.006. Keywords: self-care, family role

Abstract

The prevalence of cancer in children is now increasing and followed by an increasing number of them who undergo chemotherapy. The effect of chemotherapy can reduce the children’s quality of life, hence it requires the contribution of nurses in improving health services to children with cancer. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect management of “Ceria” chemotherapy : (C)egah Sariawan (preventing mucositis), Cegah (E)kstravasasi (preventing extravacation), (R)elaksasi (Progressive Muscle Relaxation to reduce fatigue), Cegah (I)nfeksi (preventing infection), (A)kupresur (acupressur to reduce nausea and vomiting) on the life quality of children with cancer. The method applied was experimental research using control group design with pretest posttest. The treatment group received intervention in the form of “Ceria” chemotherapy effect management from the researchers while the control group did not receive intervention treatment. The selection of research subjects for the treatment and control groups was done randomly. The children’s quality of life was measured before and after one week of intervention using PedsQL (Children's Quality of Life Inventory). The participants were 76 children (38 in the treatment group and 38 in the control group). The results of the paired t test showed that there were significant mean differences of life quality before and after "Ceria" chemotherapy effects management on children with cancer (p = 0,0001; sig = 0.05), the highest life quality improvement was found on children who experienced progressive muscle relaxation. This study concludes that "Ceria" chemotherapy effect management can improve the life quality of children with cancer. Therefore, the reseachers recommend nurses to apply “Ceria” chemotherapy effect management to improve the life quality of children with cancer. A valid & reliable Structured Interview schedule(r-0.85,0.90)was used to collect data from the postnatal women who were admitted for delivery and staying postnatal ward. The findings showed that the harmful beliefs regarding maternal, baby care, breast feeding & family planning aspect were present among women during postpartum period(R-75%,U-54%) Harm less beliefs regarding maternal care& breast feeding aspect were present in postpartum period(R-31% U-42 %). Beneficial beliefs regarding separation aspect were present in postpartum period(R-79%,U-90%).The practices were seen in post partum period(R-52%,U-21%).There was a significant difference in belief among rural & urban women as evidenced by ‘t’ test(t-11.38 at df 278 at p<0.05) . There was a significant difference in practice among rural& urban women (t-6.85 at df278 at 0.05 level).Significant relationship(r-0.35 , 0.28 at p<0.05) was seen between beliefs &practices during postpartum period in both area. There was a significant association (χ2-5.36, 10.56 at p<0.05) between religion with beliefs in both area. The significant association was seen between family type with beliefs in rural (χ2-4.41 at p<0.05) but not in urban. The study concluded that, a concerned matter of issue can be raised to prevent the practices contrary with harmful beliefs by counselling and evaluation of views of the mothers during reproductive period. Abstract

Adolescents learn about Vulvo vaginal candidiasis (VVC) because its common clinical problem in female during this age throughout the world particularly in hot, subtropical climates. Annually in the United States there are approximately 13 million cases of vulvo vaginal candidiasis (VVC), resulting in 10 million gynecologic office visits per year. It is estimated that 75% of women will experience at least one episode in their lifetime, with a projected 50% of all female experiencing multiple episodes (Kamath, etal , 2014). Education in health is one of the key components of primary health care and one of the most vital health care requirements for female that must be considered much more in the primary health care system, particularly maternal and child health. Moreover Knowledge of how to prevent vaginal Candidiasis could save many female from frequent office visit, uncomfortable vaginal infections and prevent complications of it (Gilson, 2012). To assess the knowledge of female university students about (VVC) and examine the effect of instructional program on their knowledge regarding Vulvovaginal Candidiasis among female university students. A quasi-experimental design "time-series" will be utilized to achieve the aim of current study. The current study was conducted at Cairo University hostel were the female students were residing and selected from non medical faculties. A simple random sample of 100 female university students was recruited for this study. Two tools were used to collect the study data; structured interview tool, and "VVC" structured knowledge assessment interviewing tool. The current study findings revealed that, mean age of the participents was 20.18± 1.19 years. More than two thirds of them fell in the age range 20-24 years. Regarding menstrual characteristics among the participants, age range at menarche was 11-14 years with a mean of ± SD was (12.30±1.88) years, duration of menstruation ranged between 2-6 days with a mean of (4.23±1.25). The total mean knowledge score of (VVC) was 18.87 ± 7.83 out of /85 in the pretest; which indicated poor knowledge level and 81.20 ± 5.01 in posttest after two weeks from instruction program; which indicated good knowledge level that remain good knowledge in the post test ( 2) with a mean of 74.35± 6.68 after eight weeks from instruction program, and 62.85 ± 6.89 in the post test (3) after 12 weeks from weeks from instruction program; which indicated satisfactory knowledge level with high statistical significant differences (P = 0.001). The instructional program had positive effect on knowledge and awareness regarding (VVC) among female university students and this results hence the research hypotheses . Abstract

Tuberculosis (TBC) treatment should be consistently done by patients and be interrupted since it will: 1) have an impact on drug and bacterial resistance, 2) take longer treatment, 3) impact on saturation to patients, and 4) increase the doses of the drug. Given the complexities of the above fact, the present study was designed to uncover the correlation between self-efficacy and the implementation of standard operational procedure of treatment. A total sample of 100 respondents were recruited purposively. The instrument employed in this study was a set of questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Spearman Rank Analysis test. In this study, p-value 0,000<0,05 was obtained. The result of this study indicated that there was a relationship between self-efficacy and the implementation of standard operational procedure of treatment encountered by tuberculosis patients. Patients with pulmonary TBC who had high self-efficacy will be able to implement the standard operational procedure at home, including the ethics of coughing, environmental health, smoking prohibition, personal protective equipment, regular taking medicine and nutrition consumption. These are significant in the treatment and prevention of transmission processes. This study has set as a practical perspective in preventing transmission of Tuberculosis within families and communities.
