Abstract

Stunting is still the biggest nutritional problem from national to international scope. Indonesia is still closely related to patriarchal culture, although the parenting process requires the active involvement of fathers and mothers in caring for stunted children. The purpose of this study was. Objective to analyze the relationship between father's involvement in feeding and stimulation of child growth and growt and development with the incidence of stunting. This study used a cross-sectional correlational quantitative method with purposive sampling. The sample size was 79 people. Data were collected using the ECLS-B father self-administered questionnaire, which was adapted and modified with the results of the validity test declared valid because it was more than r table (r = 0.444) and the results of the reliability test declared reliable with Cronbach Alpha of 0.852 and 0.741. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed no association between father's involvement in child feeding and stimulation of child growth and development with the incidence of stunting (p value=0.888 OR= 0,685; RR=1,128 and p value=0,435; OR=1,071; RR=1,048). This shows that there are other, more dominant factors that influence the incidence of stunting. These factors include inadequate dietary intake, economic constraints, and child feeding errors. Further interventions are needed to increase fathers' involvement in feeding and growth stimulation of stunted children, although there is no direct relationship.

Abstract

The number of cases of pregnancy syphilis infection at the Ibrahim Adjie Community Health Center has increased in recent years. Until now, not all cases have been found and it is estimated that this will be greater than the current findings. The response of pregnant women to the diagnosis of syphilis infection tends not to be interpreted as a disease that can affect pregnancy. One of these conditions is related to the mother's perception of syphilis infection during pregnancy. Researchers have not yet obtained studies related to risk factors and perceptions, especially in Indonesia. Objective: This research was conducted to obtain risk factors related to pregnant women's perceptions of pregnancy syphilis infection. Method: Research variables include maternal age, occupation, income, ethnicity, gravida status, gestational age, sex, and perception. The research instrument consists of demographic data and a questionnaire with an alpha value of 0.939. Data collection using a survey approach uses primary data. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the highest percentage was in the age category of more than 19 years (90.9%), housewife (81.8%), multigravida (65.5%), gestational age more than 28 weeks (45.5%), sexual risk (54.4%), perception supports (65.5%), and the correlation value with Spearman is 0.361. Conclusions: Supportive perceptions provide the same contribution to risky and non-risky sexual activity, whereas risky and non-risky sexual activity produces supportive perceptions. The respondent's perception that the perspective on pregnancy syphilis does not arise due to previous sexual experience can be caused by other factors that contribute both internally and externally.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative inflammatory disease that attacks the joints, especially the knee joints, in millions of people throughout the world. The main symptom of this disease is joint pain. Many studies have shown that components of Curcuma longa have beneficial effects in the pain management of OA patients. Objective to determine the efficacy and side effects of Curcuma longa in managing pain in patients suffering from osteoarthritis. Literature was created through various reference sources such as Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Epistemonikos which were screened against several inclusion criteria from 2013 - 2023. From the 277 articles obtained, 2 articles were obtained. Curcuma longa has been proven to significantly reduce pain scores according to VAS and WOMAC criteria. Apart from that, its effectiveness is not much different compared to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). However, fewer side effects were reported in the Curcuma longa group. Curcuma longa can be used as a therapeutic option for mild to moderate osteoarthritis, especially in patients who cannot tolerate the side effects of NSAIDs.

Abstract

Breast cancer ranks as one of the primary causes of mortality in women worldwide, with Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, witnessing a notable prevalence. Objective: To elaborate the endocrine therapy in breast cancer patients. Method: A comprehensive literature search was done across PubMed, Medline, ProQuest, Sage, and Google Scholar. Breast cancer, carcinoma mammae, luminal A, endocrine therapy, and recurrence rate, were used as the keywords. Inclusion criteria were studies on endocrine therapy in breast cancer. Initial search using title and abstract was conducted, then followed by full-text screening. Results: From 415 studies, 11 articles published between 2003 and 2022 were retrieved [RCT (n=8), clinical trial (n=1), cohort (n=1), cross-sectional (n=1)]. Endocrine therapy, also known as hormone therapy, could inhibit the growth of tumor cells by slowing down the ability of those cells to replicate. Fulvestrant and aromatase inhibitors (AI) such as anastrozole and letrozole have shown high survival and low recurrence rates. Conclusions: Adjuvant endocrine or hormonal therapy had shown remarkable outcomes for luminal A breast cancer patients, with high survival rates and very low recurrence rates. Further research was still needed to further understand the development of future treatments and to extend the research on long-term survival rates.

Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic and recurrent inflammatory condition that affects patients' quality of life. One alternative that has an anti-inflammatory effect on AD is vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D). Although the main treatment for AD uses drugs such as corticosteroids or immunosuppressants, the side effects caused are quite high. Therefore, the aim of this review This literature aims to find out more about the effectiveness of vitamin D against AD, so that it can be an alternative treatment option. Objective: To determine the role of vitamin D in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Method: The research took database sources from Pubmed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Cochrane from 2014-2023 which were then selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been created. A total of 17972 articles were found using the keywords ("Vitamin D" OR "Calciferol" OR "Calcitriol") AND "Atopic Dermatitis" AND ("Role" OR "Function") which then after screening, 16 articles were taken for this literature review. Results: AD is an inflammatory condition that is influenced by various factors. The severity of this disease can be assessed using SCORAD or EASI. AD patients generally have lower serum vitamin D levels and decreased SCORAD index. However, vitamin D supplementation in AD treatment varies according to each country and geographic region. Conclusions: Various studies have been conducted to review the effects of vitamin D supplementation on AD, but not all of them show significant effects. This is influenced by many factors, especially age, dosage, preparation, country and geographical area. So more in-depth research is needed on this matter.
