Abstract

This research aimed  to know some factors which influenced the performance of Management Unit Service Privider For Agricultural Machineries in Dalangan Village, Tawangsari district, Sukoharjo Regency based on the motivation, management, ability, skills and facilityof UPJA. The basic method used in this research was eksplanative through survey technique.The location of research was done purposively in Sukoharjo regency, Dalangan district considering that this village had wide area of UUPJA (170 Ha) and it had become the national model area. Stratiefed random sampling was used as sampling method in this research, where the strata is based on the board and members, for the selected member of 55 respondents while the board was taken all a number of 15. Total samples were 70 farmers of respondents. The data was gotten by using questionnaire to 70 respondents passed observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis used in this research was multiple liniear regression with spss 22.00. Then, the result showed that same factors influenced the work performance were motivation was high category, managemen was high categoryt, ability and skills was high category and facilities was high category and the work performance UPJA was high category. There was significant influence among those factors (motivation, management, ability, and skill) with confidence level 95%and there was no significant influence between its facilities and the work performance of UPJA.

Abstract

The form of traditional knowledge that still persistence one is wiwitan tradition in Kedon Hamlet, Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro Subdistrict, Bantul Regency. The persistence of wiwitan tradition in Kedon Hamlet when the appreciation of cultural heritage generationsstarted to fade indicates that the presence of preservation efforts by the local community is still exist.Thisefforts can be done through learning and dissemination of wiwitan tradition by the local communities. Based on the idea this research aimed to; (1) determine how the communities of Kedon Hamlet, Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro Subdistrict Bantul Regency disseminate wiwitan tradition, (2) determine how the communities of Kedon Hamlet, Sumbermulyo Village, Bambanglipuro Subdistrict, Bantul Regencylearn wiwitan tradition. This research used a single case study method that examine the phenomenon of the persistence of wiwitan tradition. The data was collected by observation, documentation and indepth interview with informan. The determination informan conducted in purposive. Informan in the research are the head of Kedon Hamlet, chairman of the farmer groups, and the local communities. The data was analyzed using the model of interactive analysis Miles and Hubermen. This research showed that; (1) the communities of Kedon Hamlet disseminated wiwitan tradition in the form of cultural carnival, words of mouth and digital media, (2) the communities of Kedon Hamlet learned wiwitan tradition through social learning.

Abstract

The aimed of this research is to know how the socialization Gerakan Pengembangan Kawasan Agropolitan (GPKA) Program, knowing constraint delayed on socialization   Movement Development Program of Agropolitan Dictrict (SMAD), and knowing the way of socialization  Gerakan Pengembangan Kawasan Agropolitan (GPKA) Program Regency of Boyolali. The method are used is kualitative with descriptive approach. Location of this research used purposive ways that on Regency of Boyolali. From Regency of Boyolali was choosen two subdistrict, that is subdistrict of Ampel and Boyolali. The informan are used with purposive ways and snowball sampling. The sources data its come from the informan, place and activities and also document/archieve. Whereas the technique to collected data had done with interview, observation, and content analysis. To measure of data used triangulation data (sources). The data was analysed by using reduction data, saw data, and verification.The result of this research showing that The Sosialization Gerakan Pengembangan Kawasan Agropolitan (GPKA) Program had done with elucidation/companionship with group farmer/GAPOKTAN, PPL, and official related, training, and contiguous. Constraint that fight are amount personil in concerned stint, presence either one staf section Agribisnis mutation, the farmer not all known about the GPKA program, cost limit for activity GPKA program, the farmer activity, and the farmer whole lot have same view and attitude about GPKA. The way used are coordinating amount personil in concerned, giving suggestion to tow removal the staf involved, the change information with farmer other, make proposal for GPKA Program, and coordination across sector intensived and contiguous.

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the perception of youth farmers to farmer's job, to investigate the factor of perception formers, and to investigate the relationship of perception-formers factors with the perception of youth to farmer's job.  The  basic  method  used  was  descriptive  analysis  with  survey  technique.  The location of research was determined purposively that is Purworejo Subdistrict Purworejo District. The sample was determined by multistage cluster random sampling technique, as many as 60 youth farmers scattered in three villages namely Pacekelan Village, Ganggeng Village, and Paduroso Village. Data analysis used spearman rank. The results showed that the perception of youth to farmers’ job is 66.67% that youth have good perception on the farmers' job. The factors forming the perception of youth farmers in Purworejo sub district are majority of formal education in the high category, the majority of family environment in the medium category, majority social culture in low category, whereas non-formal education, primary social environment, secondary social  environment  and  cosmopolitan  majority  in  category  very  low. There  is  an intense significant relationship between family environment and socio-culture with youth perception on farmer's work at 99% confidence level, at 95% level there is a significant relationship between work involvement and primary social environment with youth perception on farmer's job, whereas formal education, non-formal education, secondary social and cosmopolitan environments do not have a significant relationship with youth perceptions of farmer's job.

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the attitudes of farmers toward Agricultural Innovation Field Organizing Program Based on Paddy, to study farmer’s attitude toward program, to study the factors that form the attitude of farmers toward the program, and analyzing the relationship between factors influencing farmer’s attitude toward program. The basic method was quantitative research with survey technique. Location of research was determined purposivelywhere is District Guluk-Guluk Sumenep Regency. The sample was determined by random sampling technique, who are 43 rice farmers participated in the Agricultural Innovation Field Organizing Program Based on Paddy for the August-November period. In determining respondent’s number from each farmer group, it used proportional random sampling. The data used that for analysiswere primary data and secondary data. Data was analyzed by Rank Spearman correlation coefficient (rs)to know the relation of factors that formed attitude with farmer’s attitude toward Agricultural Innovation Field Organizing Program Based on Paddy. The factors that formed the farmers’ attitude in Guluk-Guluk Sub-district of Sumenep Regency were personal experience in very high category, non-formal education in very high category, cultural role in high category, the role of others that are considered important in medium category, media exposure in low category, and extension roles in very high categories.Based on rank spearman (rs), showed thatthere was a significant relationship between personal experience, non-formal education, the role of culture, and the role of investigator with farmer’s attitudes toward the program, while the roles of others that were considered important and mass media exposure had no significant relationship with farmers' attitudes toward the program

Abstract

The success of adopting Tyto alba as rat pest control in Gempol village because of not only positive farmers’perception but also farmers’characteristic. The Positive farmers’perception are linear to farmers’belief in adopting Tyto alba innovation for rat pest control. This study aimed to analyze: 1) farmers’ characteristic, 2) farmers’ perception, and 3) the relationship between farmers’ characteristic and farmers’ perception in adopting Tyto alba Barn owl innovation as rat pest control. This study was quantitative with a survey method and conducted in Gempol Village, Karanganom sub-district, Klaten, Central Java. It was chosen because the first village in Klaten uses Tyto alba as rat pest control. A total of sixty farmers were obtained with purposive random sampling. SPSS Statistics 17.0 with Spearman’s rank correlation was applied to make data analysis. The results showed that: 1) Farmers had a positive attitude, strong motivation, and skillful, also social environment were involved to the innovation of Tyto alba as rat pest control. 2) Farmers had a positive perception of the innovation of Tyto alba as a pest control. 3) There was a significant relationship between farmer attitude, motivation, and social environment to Tyto alba innovation as rat pest control. There wasn’t a significant relationship between farmer experience and perception in adopting Tyto alba as rat pest control.

Abstract

This study aims to study farmer attitude in UPSUS PAJALE program in Sukoharjo regency, to examine the factors that influence farmers attitudes in UPSUS PAJALE program in Sukoharjo regency, to examine the influence of factors influencing farmer attitude on UPSUS PAJALE program in Sukoharjo regency. The basic method of research  is  quantitative  by  survey  technique.  The  location  of  the  research  is determined purposively in Sukoharjo District, precisely in the outboard village and Sraten (Gatak), Duwet and Menuran (Baki), and Klumprit and Sapen (Mojolaban) villages with the consideration of production in 2015 showing the highest production (Gatak) medium (Tray), and low production (Mojolaban). The sampling method used is proportional random sampling, with a sample size of 80 farmers. The data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis using multiple linear regression. The result of research shows that the factors that influence attitude are non-formal education category is very high at 76.25%, the influence of other people who are considered high category importance is 57,50%, high category mass media equal to 52,50%, very category experience high of 78.75%, and the economic environment with katogori of 87.50%. There is a significant influence between non- formal education, the influence of others who are considered important, experience, mass media at the level of 95% confidence and there is no significant influence between the economic environment on farmers attitude on UPSUS PAJALE program.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the EmpowermentMovement of Integrated Farmers; the extension agents’ competence related with EmpowermentMovement of Integrated Farmers; the factors that affecting the competence of extension agents, to examine the effect of factors that affecting the competence of extension agents with extension agents’ competence. The location of the study was determined purposively because of the presence of EMIF, where the focus of this movement is the empowerment of farmer groups while there are still many farmer groups that are in the beginner class. The population of this research is the extension agents whose working area is in the same sub district with farmers group on the beginner class. The sampling method was done with total sampling is32 people. Data analysis using multiple linear regressions. The extension agents’ competence in compiling the program is low; The extension agents’ competence in preparing the materials, establishing media, agribusiness consulting services, evaluating the implementation of extension, evaluating the impact of extension, conducting the assessment is moderate; The extension agents’ competence in the application of the method is high; (3) Factors that affecting the extension agents’ competence the ability to mobilizing the group (X1); personality (X2); The attitude of extension agents’ (X3); The extension agents’counseling skills (X4); motivation(X6) are moderate; The extension agents’ experience (X5) is very low. (4) There is a significant influence between the counseling skills and the motivation with the extension agents’ competence and there is no significant influence between the ability to mobilizing the group, personality, attitude of extension agents’ and experience with extension agents’ competence.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to know the farmers’ internal factors related to farmer participation in activities to increase vegetable production and medicinal plants through various chili areas, analyze the level of farmer participation in activities to increase vegetable production and medicinal plants through various chili areas, and analyzing the relationship of farmers’ internal factors with the level of farmer participation in activities to increase vegetable production and medicinal plants through various chili areas. This research uses quantitative  methods  with  survey  techniques.  The research location was determined intentionally, namely Kismantoro Subdistrict, with the consideration that the sub-district was the district with the largest land area and production yield in Wonogiri Regency. The research population this time is farmers who are members of farmer groups that receive activities namely 197 farmers. The sampling method was carried out proportionally random sampling, with a sample size of 60 farmers. To test the relationship, rank spearman analysis was used with SPSS version 20. The results showed that the majority of farmers were of productive age, the most formal farmers were elementary school graduates, farmers in the low category, the largest farmer area was 0.51-0, 75 ha, the level of farmer risk taking in the high category, the activeness of farmer membership in the medium category. The level of farmer participation at the planning stage and at the implementation stage is classified as a moderate category, while the level of farmer participation at the utilization stage of the results is classified as high. The internal factors of the farmer who have a significant relationship with the level of farmer participation are age, non-formal education, risk-taking level and liveliness of farmer membership, while the farmers’ internal factors that have no relation to farmer participation level are formal education and land tenure.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the causes of the role of educator, cabbage agribusiness system development, the role of educator, relationship roles extension with cabbage agribusiness development in Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency.  This research  used  a  quantitative  approach. The  research  location was selected  Tawangmangu  District,  which  has  the  highest production of cabbage  in Karanganyar Regency. The data was used primary and secondary. Data analysis method was used partial correlation. The results of research showed agribusiness system development phase cabbage cultivation availability of production facilities and  the  very  high  criteria,  harvest  and  post-harvest  and  marketing  in  the  high criteria, institutional support in the low criteria. The role of agricultural extension as a motivator, mediator, supervisor and facilitator are in high criteria. The causes of extension role who are in the high criteria were the age and income of farmers, to the level of agricultural education and training in low criteria. Between roles as a motivator with a marketing instructor showed a significant relationship. Instructor's role as a mediator between the institutional supports showed a significant relationship. Between the role of agricultural extension as a supervisor and facilitator with cabbage agribusiness system development showed no significant relationship. Between the ages of farmers and role of instructor showed a significant relationship. The  relationship  between  level  of  education,  income  and  agricultural  training, showed no significant association.
