Abstract

The transformation of space in architecture due to conflicts of interest, has not been studied much, so that architecture is used as a benchmark for understanding quality, marking the ownership or power of a group towards space. With a case study of conflicts of interest in the Kuta Bali tourist area, and by applying the land reconstruction method, it was found a process of changing space and its impact on the people of Kuta in particular and for Bali tourism in general, because Kuta is a major tourist destination. In this study will refine the theory of the description of architectural processes of space change due to conflicts of interest. Findings about inter-disciplinary research methods, bridging architectural science with its supporting sciences (sociology, psychology, anthropology). The role of architecture will support an alternative concept in the process of changing space due to conflicts of interest, as well as spatial planning that experiences dynamic and multi-dimensionalchanges.

Abstract

Evaluation of a passive fire protection system is an effort to find out how feasible a fire protection system is in a building. One of the main problems arising from fire hazards in mall buildings is fire protection systems that do not meet standards. This study aims to analyze the building fire protection system, with the Sun Plaza Medan case study with a total of six floors and one basement, and located in the city center. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative and quantitative, with a variable observation stage which is then carried out by a comparison process using the Analytical Hierarchy Process. This AHP method is helpful for researchers to get the results needed. Evaluation results obtained at shopping centers (case studies: Sun Plaza Medan) can be categorized as good, although several components do not meet the standards. Several recommendations were made for changes by testing, to obtain an increase in the value of the reliability of the passive fire protection system in the case study.

Abstract

The city of Makassar has the advantage of a charming beach tourism destination and is an icon of the city located in the Losari Beach Region or known as the CPI Region (Center point of Indonesia). Losari beach area has zoning areas consisting of tourist areas namely Losari Beach Pavilion, Fort Rotterdam, Shopping Center and Ole-ole Somba Opu, and Culinary Tourism Areas that are expected to attract tourists to visit. However, visitor / tourist movements are concentrated only on the Losari Beach Pavilion. Through the cognitive mapping analysis method, this study aims to identify the characteristics of movement patterns of tourists in the Losari Beach tourism area and the factors that influence the pattern of tourist movements. The pattern of tourist movements is obtained from the recapitulation of index cards based on tourist routes. The results of this study are that the tourist movement pattern is dominated by a single point pattern with the tourist destinations of Losari Beach Pavilion and the least movement patterns carried out by tourists is the Chaining Loop pattern which visits four tourist spots namely Losari Beach Pavilion, Culinary Center for street vendors, Makassar, Fort Rotterdam, and Makassar Ole-Ole shopping center, and factors that influence tourist movement patterns are the classification of tourist interest, operational time and classification based on the ease of tourist movements.

Abstract

Traditional occupancy is something interesting to observe, especially when there are different types of dwellings in the residence, which illustrate the diversity of the culture and local knowledge of the people. Kadu Ketug Outer Baduy Traditional Village is a traditional village that has different residential patterns, where in this village, there are various types of traditional houses that show a wealth of traditions and carpentry technology, which are applied to the system of these houses. This mapping of traditional houses, as a form of intellectual property investment that is expressed in local knowledge, is very necessary to do with research and knowledge that can be applied to the development of technology in architectural technology. This paper will discuss the systems of traditional Baduy Kadu Ketug houses that were elaborated by descriptive analytical methods, from the results of field surveys and measurements in the field. The method of data collection was carried out by field surveys and interviews with traditional leaders and village communities, as well as recording through photographs and sketches of the buildings surveyed. The findings obtained indicate that the traditional house of the Outer Baduy Traditional Village of Kadu Ketug is an integral part of the Baduy Indigenous Village as a whole. This can be seen from the building layout, the building connection system, the use of materials, and the details of the building. Abstract

Development will increase sporadic land use and tend to cause land degradation. This paper is intended to investigate the effects of land use and land cover processes on Weh-Sabang Island, Indonesia. The duration of LULC changes is analyzed using Google Earth images from 2008 to 2018. Through observations of satellite imagery detected protected area and green space area has been greatly reduced in area and transformed into built-in land which functions as a tourist area and urban built environment. Where as in the coastal areas the change from vacant land to land that was built has also become larger over the past ten years. The increase in land density since 2008 is due to the construction of tourist attractions in hilly areas to coastal areas around Weh-Sabang Island, and can cause changes in the morphology and typology of the city of Sabang. Through the method of calculating the Land Diversity Index, changes can be made in the number of areas that have changed in the period of the year being monitored. The coastal areas experience more land use changes than hilly areas, and through observations of LULC changes across Weh Island, it is expected that efforts will be made to control land use changes in areas that have directly experienced land degradation, and must consider environmental control efforts. As small island like that which happened on Weh-Sabang Island. The westernmost island of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

The housing environment that appears in many urban areas today, is available in the form of real estate and in the form of simple housing. The existence of these houses is equipped with supporting infrastructure. One of them is the availability of open space as a public facility, which can be utilized by all residents of housing. If you look at the historical aspects of past traditional settlements, such as the Tanean Lanjang Madura settlement, the Samin Bojonegoro Community Village, the Sumatra Karo Batak Village, and so on, it is found that there is open space as a public space. Where the function and role of open space are used for joint activities, gathering places and socializing, as well as the center of orientation of several groups of houses, so that the location tends to be in the center. The purpose of this study is to see the existence of open space of traditional settlements (past) and present. As well as analyzing the activities carried out by the pas community and its current development. By using the method of field observation (observation) and qualitative descriptive analysis, the results show that the existence of open space in the present, such as in residential or residential groups, still exists. If in the past traditional settlements, the existence of open spaces was used as a means to gather and socialize, then in its current development, open space could be used as a means of playing and exercising for children, recreational activities (gathering on holidays), supported economic activities (traders who sell), as well as a means of worship (Eid al-Fitr / Eid al-Adha). This shows the development and diversity of functions and activities in the open space, so that its utilization can increase economic values, religious values and other social values.

Abstract

The Agro Techno Park area in North Gresik is a proposal developed by the local government with master plan design concepts with a theme that combines industry and campus based on education and research (Erica Campus). With strong potential supported by infrastructure plans for the development of north Gresik, this area has the potential to be developed. Research problems that arise are aspects of what aspects need to be considered in structuring these thematic clusters and how the criteria that help strengthen campus development planning concepts in the long term. Hanyang University is one example of the Erica campus cluster in south Korea that applies new standards and is recognized as a school that actively collaborates with industry. This cluster must have a strong and specific peculiarity because it is in the agro-industrial region so that in its footprint other than the mass, circulation and open space. There are special needs that need to be studied in depth so that the concept of merging is achieved to develop conceptual directives in the form of thematic campus development models
