Abstract

This study aims to determine the working risk of preventive maintenance Single Point Mooring and to determine the existing risk control on preventive maintenance activities Single Point Mooring in PT. Pertamina RU-V Balikpapan. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with observasional approach. The method used is case study on PT. Pertamina RU-V Balikpapan. Data obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The validity of data is done by membercheck method, and data analysis using semi quantitative risk assesment with AS/NZS 4360 Standard. The results showed (1) the percentage of working risk of Single Point Mooring preventive maintenance activity using risk assesment method shows 29,41% low risk, 64,70% medium risk, and 5,88% high risk. (2) 6 risk controls methods are elimination, substitution, engineering control, isolation, administration control and personal protective equipment. The dominant control method used is the metod of personal protective equipment and administration control. The prevention of occupational injuries addressed to the environment of machines, work equipment, and especially human factors

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of fiber orientation variation on tensile strength and impact strength on polypropyline fabric composite. In this study the reinforcing materials used were polypropyline fabrics with variations of fiber orientation 0º:-45º:0 ; 0:45º:0º ; and 0º:90:0º using unsaturated polyester resin 108 as the matrix. Preparation by hand lay up, impact testing conducted with reference standard ASTM D5942-96 and tensile testing conducted with reference ASTM D638-03 standard. The test results showed that the variation with 0°:90°:0° orientation gave the best effect to the impact test and tensile test with the impact price of 128,66 Joule / cm² and tensile strength of 98,49 MPa. Keywords: Polypropyline, Composite, Impact Strength, Tensile Strength

Abstract

The development of alternative energy sources that can replace fuel oil is very important to utilize natural resources optimally and environmentally. The shell produced from rubber plants is the main ingredient in this study, while the coconut shell is an additional material used to increase the calorific value of alternative fuels which is often referred to as Briquette. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of variations in raw material composition and variations in pressure on the quality of rubber shells and coconut shell waste briquettes according to SNI standards. The raw material for rubber shell and coconut shell is processed into charcoal using carbonization method with a variation of a mixture of 85%: 15%, 90%: 10% and 95%: 5% with 5% adhesive. Then mix the printed material with a pressure of 300 kg/cm2 and 100kg/cm2. The quality parameters of briquettes are based on SNI 01-6235-2000 standards with moisture content, ash content, volatille matter content, and lacquer value. The results of the study showed that the sample b1 with 85% injection: 15% print pressure 300kg/cm2. The briquette with the sample code b1 has a water content value of 5,10432%, ash content of 14,8604%, volatile matter content of 12,8002%, carbon value of 66,8225% and heating value of 6576.592501 cal/gr. But overall the briquettes have not met the standards of SNI 01-6235-2000 concerning the quality of wood charcoal briquettes. Because the ash content of the briquette exceeds the maximum limit that has been determined, namely a maximum of 8%.  Keywords: Alternative Energy, Rubber Seed Shell, Coconut Shell, Pressure

Abstract

This study aims to look at the combustion characteristics of destillates of used rubber and diesel oil using droplet, the characteristics observed were flash point, ignition delay time, burning rate, and visualization (hight) of fire. Variation in mix RCO 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%. The tool used is a tool designed by researchers. The result of the flash point study found that the highest velue was found in the mixture of RCO 10% which was 105,7oC and the lowest value was found in mixture of 50% which was 56,6oC. then the highest value of the ignition delay time is in the mixture of 10% which is 1,64 seconds and the lowest value in the mixture is 30% which is 0,98 seconds, then are result of the highest burning rate are found in the mixture 0f 40% which is 3,83 seconds and lowest value is mixed with 20% which is 3,1 second. Then the highest level of fire in the mixture of 10% is 82,3 mm and the lowest is in the mixture of 50% which is 73,2 mm. Keywords: Rubber Compound Oil, Droplet, Flash Point, Ignition Delay Time, Burning Rate

Abstract

Electrical energy is the dominant energy needed for human life. One source of electricity income is Steam Power Plant (PLTU). With an installed capacity of     4 x65 MW for public transportation, each unit of acid acid plant has one boiler with 1 economizer as a means of boiler efficiency enhancer by absorbing hot flue gas. To avoid it then in need of maximum care to components of economizer. To see the effectiveness of the economizer it is necessary to observe the economizer. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the economizer. From the results of the boiler efficiency study from March 27, 2017 to April 10, 2017 with a total average efficiency in the analysis of 81.93%. With the highest efficiency on date On March 29, 2017 the efficiency calculated was 83.42% at 02:00. And the lowest on April 2, 2017, an 80.32% efficiency at 09:00. The factor that influences the efficiency ratio is the temperature difference between the incoming gas gas furnace (T_ (h, i)), exit (T_ (h, o)) and the feed water inlet tube temperature       (T_ (c, i)). The research obtained the highest heat transfer coefficient that is equal to 1.647,1 Btu/h.ft2 at 227,4°C on 27/03/2017 and the lowest that is equal to 1.636,91 Btu/h.ft2 at 233°C on 28/03/2017 Keywords: Economizer, Feed Water Tube, Flue Gas, Koefisien Heat Transfer, Heat transfer

Abstract

In some heat exchanger tools are widely used in industries such as power plants, oil refineries, chemical plants and petrochemicals, natural gas industry, refrigeration, and so forth. One example of a heat exchanger found in the poultry feed industry in PT.Japfa Comfeed Branch of Banjarmasin is the economizer, where the hot vapor of combustion in the furnace is used as a feed water heater before entering the boiler. From the results of the study known in the economize coefficient of the highest heat transfer before the overhaul of 1.393.1 Btu / jam.ft2.oF at 92.5 oC, and the lowest heat transfer coefficient before the overhaul of 1,334.8 Btu / jam.ft2. oF at 101 ° C. after the overhaul, it is known that the highest economizer heat transfer coefficient is 1,419.7 Btu / hour.ft2.oF at 99oC, and the lowest heat transfer coefficient after the overhaul is 1,378.6 Btu / hr.ft2.oF at 104.5 oC. Abstract

The machine is one of the main factors of production whose role is very important in order to produce a product that conforms to the specifications set by a machine, with the amount and capacity of the machine's production. Reliability is the design of a component so that components can work according to function, without any failure, in accordance with the process already set. Screw press is a fitting machine used to squeeze moss brondolan ripe with press system and used to separate crude oil from crushed flesh (mesocarp) by squeezing. Research done on Screw Press machine that its role is quite high in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIII. The method used is Reliability with MTTR Method. From the calculation results obtained reliability value Screw Press engine in 2015 has the highest reliability value of 1.6408 at the time of calculation of 383.75 hours and in 2016 has a reliability value of 0.7239 at the time of calculation 415.83 hours. Screw Press engine reliability value in 2016 is higher than 2015, it is proven that the life of Screw Press engine in 2016 is more dominant than in 2015. Abstract

Indonesia as one of the largest coal producers utilizes this advantage by establishing a steam power plant, one of which is Borneo south PLTU power plant PT.PLN (persero) south of Borneo and Central Borneo Asam-Asam generation sector. One important component of PLTU is air heater to raise the combustion air temperature. Initial heating of ljungstrom type lattest regenerative air  heater in PLTU Asam-Asam unit 2 is carried out cleaning and maintenance on seal and gas side surfaces to optimize heat transfer coefficient and ratio of air intake ratio exposed by forced draft fan and air heated by flue gas in heater air heater elements and transferred to the combustion chamber to make efficient use of new fuel. Measurements were carried out on August 9, 2017 for 2 hours to find out the average value of heat transfer coefficient and temperature comparison of entry and exit from air heater of Asam-Asam unit 2 steam power plant. This research was conducted to find out the value of heat transfer coefficient and air temperature ratio with measurement on the inlet and outlet for two hours. The results of the air heater performance analysis in in PLTU Asam-Asam unit 2 steam power plant in terms of the highest heat transfer coefficient was 62.75 W/m^2.℃ at 2:04 PM, while the lowest heat transfer coefficient was 62.37 W/m^2.℃ at 3:10 PM, and the average heat transfer coefficient is 62.50 W/m^2.℃ . While the highest water heater ratio 9.70 at 3:44 PM and the lowest ratio 8.32 at minute 3:09 PM, and the average water heater ratio 9.01. Abstract

Gears are one of the engine components in the transmission system which functions to forward power from the drive shaft to the shaft to be moved. The speed ratio of the driving gear with the gear that is driven depends on the number of gears of each gear. Fault (Fracture) is the separation of a component or material into two or more parts, Ductile and brittle are the relative terms of certain faults, one type or another depending on the situation, the ductile fracture surface has its own characteristic in the macroscopic. The ductile fracture in the specimen leads to a point. The brittle fracture does not have plastic deformation. Decohesive rupture is a fault that occurs due to environmental reactions Autodesk Inventor is software development from its predecessor software in the CAD field, such as AutoCad and Mechanical Desktop. This software is made with various advantages with its predecessor software. The fracture on the planetary pinion gear Transmission in the pc300lc-7 excavator unit occurs because of the severe load that occurs at the operation, based on von misses analysis can be known (15,57 Mpa), principal stress (9,046 Mpa), and von misses stress with moment twisting (3,088 Mpa) is much smaller than the material elasticity limit of 689 MPa so that there is no stress concentration. The mechanism of failure occurs starting from the shock load in the material without any elastic deformation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of cooling media and holding time to porosity, hardness and micro structure of Al alloy material (scrap) using evaporative casting method. The method used in this research is the experimental method of smelting Al Alloy piston scrap and poured at 700°C in Styrofoam pattern mold with 10 and 15 minutes holding time, then cooled with medium air, brine, and water of PDAM for 30 minutes. The material used is excavator aluminum alloy (scrap) izumi piston with silicon aluminum alloy (Al-12% Si). The highest hardness value obtained from the results of cooling casting with the brine cooling medium for 10 minutes that is equal to 217,996 kg / mm2 average HV. At porosity, the highest value was obtained at holding time of 15 minutes with PDAM water cooling medium 5.088% against raw material. While the result of visual observation with 50x magnification of microstructure of specimen to raw material, Si material in raw material has significant length increase. The conclusion of the research results is that re-casting with variations of cooling medium and waiting time will increase hardness and increase porosity, except on brine cooling medium. Keywords: MTTR, MTTF, RCM (Reliability Centered Maintanance)
