Data were analyzed using the chi square test with the significance level of α=0.05. The study found that the variable of maternal occupation (p=0.013), maternal cultural values (p=0.000), maternal birth attendant (p=0.003) and maternal family support (p=0.000) were associated with exclusive breastfeeding. Mothers who still actively work need to manage time to breastfeed their babies. Mothers are also encouraged to access information related to the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding to change the existing cultural perceptions about the traditions hindering exclusive breastfeeding practice.

Abstract

Stunting describes the unfulfilled intake of nutrients needed by toddlers that has been going on for a long time since the fetus is in the womb until the child is born and the first 2 years of the child's life. The aim of this study was to analyze the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months. This research is an analytic survey research based on a cross sectional study. The sample in this study amounted to 103 toddlers who were selected by simple random sampling technique. This research was conducted from September to October 2020. Data were collected by conducting interviews, observations, filling out questionnaires and also documentation. In the bivariate analysis the chi-square test was used and the multivariate analysis used the multiple logistic regression test. The results of multivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.003), feeding patterns (p-value = 0.010), maternal education (p-value = 0.019) and a history of LBW (p-value = 0.000). LBW history is the factor most associated with the incidence of stunting. It is hoped that expectant mothers and mothers will understand correctly about the problem of stunting, its causes and protection factors so that efforts to prevent and overcome stunting can be carried out. It is hoped that the Puskesmas will continue to make health promotion efforts regarding stunting and the factors that influence it.

Pitay Village is one of the villages that is at risk of food vulnerability because it does not meet the three indicators namely availability, access and utilization. This study aims to determine the community's strategy to overcome food insecurity in Pitay Village, Sulamu District, Kupang Regency. This type of research was descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were 250 household heads. The sample consisted of 72 families determined using the Slovin formula. The results showed that 56.9% of respondents experienced food insecurity and 55.6% of respondents ate food from the forest as a strategy to deal with food insecurity. Local governments need to provide social assistance as well as increase entrepreneurial interest by providing working capital funds. Socialization and empowerment for productive age groups related to the use of homeyard (green house program) are recommended to meet household food needs.

The research’s design is a quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling method was carried out by simple random sampling technique and the sample size was 96 MSM with a questionnaire as the instrument. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (ρ = 0.002), attitude (ρ=0.000), information exposure (ρ=0.042), availability of condoms (ρ=0.022), partner support (ρ=0.000) and support from friends in the community (ρ=0.009) with the use of a condom. From this study, it can conclude that knowledge, attitudes, information exposure, availability of condoms, support from partners, and support from friends in the community are a factor that influences condom use among MSM in the IMOF Community in Kupang City in preventing HIV-AIDS. This study aims to determine the risk of education, age, period of work, frequency and duration of diving to the incidence of work-related accidents and diseases in divers fishing for sea cucumbers in Namosain Village, Alak District, Kupang City. The study was quantitative using an analytical survey. The sample consisted of 37 sea cucumber divers selected by applying the total sampling technique. The results of this study showed that age, work period, frequency and duration for diving were related to accidents and diseases while education was found unrelated with the accidents and diseases. It is recommended to establish an occupational-related post for regular check-up among fishermen, and for health promotion intervention. The fishermen also need to prevent accident and diseases by obtaining accurate information about the harmful effects of diving without using complete personal protective equipment.
