Abstract

Jigsaw cooperative learning model is a learning model that shapes students' knowledge by means of discussion. However, what distinguishes this model from other models is that there is a group of experts whose knowledge is obtained from the results of discussions in one group about one material that is different from other groups. After this group of experts gets enough knowledge, they will form a new group where the members come from different expert groups. The objectives of the study: (1) describing the quality of the mathematics learning process through the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model at the Pembda 2 Gunungsitoli Private Junior High School. (2) Describing student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects through the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model at the Pembda 2 Gunungsitoli Private Junior High School. (3) Significantly proving the quality of the mathematics learning process is good by applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. (4) Significantly proving that the average mathematics learning outcomes are good by using the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model. This research was carried out at the SMP Swasta Pembda 2 Gunungsitoli with the research subjects was class VIII students of the 2018/2019 academic year in even semester with a total of 34 people, consisting of 18 boys and 16 girls. The research conducted was classroom action research (CAR) which consisted of two cycles with the main material being Statistics. The material for the first cycle is the Mean, Median and Mode, while the material for the second cycle is the Range and Quartile

Abstract

This research is descriptive research. This study aimed to determine whether learning by using the Jigsaw Type I Cooperative Model can improve students' ability to determine the function compositions in class X SMA Negeri 1 Barusjahe in the 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects in this study were students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Barusjahe in the 2018/2019 academic year with a total of 35 people. The object of this research was the students' mathematics learning mastery during the implementation of the Jigsaw Type I Cooperative Model to Improve Students' Ability to Determine Functional Compositions in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Barusjahe 2018/2019 Academic Year". The instrument used was a test consisting of 6 questions. In the pre-test, the classical mastery was 7.1%. After action I, the test results obtained classically the level of problem-solving ability with 75.2%. This shows that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities have increased to the medium category. The test results in cycle II classically obtained the level of classical student learning mastery with 93.8%. This shows that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities have increased to a very high category. From the actions in cycle I and cycle II, it was concluded that the application of learning strategies using the Jigsaw Type I Cooperative Model improves students' ability in determining functional compositions in class X SMA Negeri 1 Barusjahe 2018/2019 Academic Year.

To find out how the feasibility of developing learning modules on set material by using a project-based learning model for class VII SMP students. This type of research was research and development (Research and Development) which started from the analysis, and design to the development or production stage. This study used a questionnaire instrument for the feasibility of the mathematics learning module which was compiled using a Likert scale. Data was collected using a module feasibility analysis instrument which includes content quality, coverage accuracy, project-based learning, display, and language. Based on the results of data analysis, the average module value is 3.18 with good criteria and the average percentage of module eligibility reaches 80% with appropriate criteria so that the learning module on the set material using the project-based learning model for class VII SMP students can be used as mathematics teaching materials.
