Abstract

This study describes the process of waria vocabulary formation and the meaning of waria vocabulary at Jalan Sisingamangaraja Medan. The theory in this research is Goeffrey Leecch's theory (stylistic meaning) and language symptom theory. This research is field research. The method in this research is the interview method, the type of data in this study uses qualitative methods, the data in this study are primary data using the listening method and continued with the listening proficiently technique. The analysis in this study used a different method and used a change technique (Sudariyanto, 1993: 37). The results of this study conclude that the waria language is a unique and creative language, the use of waria is used by waria to communicate with each other, their language is a special and secret language. The meaning contained in the waria vocabulary is the meaning that arises based on the use of language based on its geographic environment, dialect and origin, and has the same meaning in Indonesian, except that the pronunciation of the word is different. The process of forming the transgender language is due to the following language symptoms, the symptom of paragraphs of adding phonemes at the end of words, the system of including the location of phonemes, apocopy of removing phonemes at the end of words, and syncope of removing phonemes in the middle of words

Abstract

This thesis describes: Mix code in Indonesian for the Buy and Sell situation at Simpang Limun Market, Medan. The problem studied is how to mix code in the market and determine the type of words in the code mix. In this research, the method used is the observation method. The technique used is the basic technique of tapping with advanced techniques of observation and recording techniques. The data assessment method is an equivalent method followed by the basic technique of sorting the determinants. The theory used in this study uses the sociolinguistic theory approach, bilingualism, mix codes and types of words. Furthermore, the results of this study on code mixing that occurred in Pasar Simpang Limun Medan were found words and phrases. And in the event of code mixing, there was an inner code-mixing in the form of a regional language that inserted in the first language, namely Indonesian, and outher code-mixing in the form of a foreign language, namely English which inserted into the first language, namely the language. Indonesia. The types of words according to Keraf are divided into four parts, namely: 15 nouns, 5 verbs, 9 adjectives, and 2 tasks, and what often appears is the type of noun ( noun).

Abstract

Literary work is considered as a masterpiece that has high life values, literature is able to evoke the human side that makes human readers become fully human. The writing of this thesis is done with the aim of obtaining an illustration of how the father's role is like a father who plays his role as a mother, a father who carry out his role as a playmate and so on in the novel Ayah Menyayang iTanpa Akhir by Kirana Kejora and what factors influence the psychology of a single father in the novel Ayah Menyayang Tanpa Akhir by Kirana Kejora. In order to achieve this goal, the writer examines Kirana Kejora's novel Ayah syaiangi (no end) by applying literary psychology theory. The problem in this thesis is limited to only describing the psychological aspects of the father character and the role of a father in the family, there are benefits of this research to enrich the study and appreciation of Indonesian literary works, helping readers understand the depiction of the role of the father and the psychological aspects of the single father in Kirana's novel Ayah Menyayangi Tanpa Akhir. Morning. The data analysis technique was carried out by descriptive analysis by connecting Kirana Kejora's novel Ayah Menyangi TanpaAkhir with literary psychology, so that four roles of father can be found, namely father as mother, as a playmate, as a good teacher, and as a quarrel partner.

Abstract

The problem in this research is how the form, function and meaning of the Pakpak ethnic grouping tradition will be studied in a semiotic manner, along with explaining the views of the Pakpak ethnic community on the Pakpak ethnic grouping tradition. Menerbeb is one part of a cultural tradition that is owned by the Pakpak ethnic group. This study aims to determine the function and meaning of cultural symbols, which are studied with the semiotic science contained in the Pakpak tradition and to find out the concept of thought and views of the Pakpak community on the function and food itself. The stages of implementing the Menerbeb tradition are structured, the author also explores the cultural values ??in it. The research method used by the author in analyzing this problem in the traditional research of menerbeb is descriptive method with field research techniques. This research uses semiotic theory which examines the science of signs with a combination of function theory and meaning theory of the research object.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the stages of the mengket rumah mbaru ceremony, the form, function and meaning of the symbols contained in the mengket rumah mbaru ceremony. The theory used to analyze is the semiotic theory proposed by Charles Sanders Pierce. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Abstract

The problem in this research is what are the forms of euphemisms and speech acts that have euphemisms. The purpose of this study is to determine the forms of euphemisms, the meaning of euphemisms in the speech acts of the Toba Batak language with the Pakpak language. The benefits of this research are to contribute theoretically to various forms of euphemisms, and add insight and foster pride for the Batak community. The research method used in this research is descriptive, with sources. The data were collected using the following techniques: observation, interview and document study. Based on the theory used in this research, namely Searly's theory. Data analysis found euphemisms in the Toba Batak language speech acts with Pakpak language which can be seen from representative speech acts, directive speech acts, commissive speech acts, expressive speech acts, and declarative speech acts. The form of euphemisms is in the form of words, phrases and clauses. The euphemisms of the Toba Batak language with the Pakpak language found in this study are the speech acts of locus, illocution and perlocution. The use of euphemisms in speech acts in every Toba Batak language and Pakpak language has the function of smoothing speech to appreciate, respect and keep off language that is not pleasant. The results showed that: The Batak Toba people with Pakpak still have euphemistic or subtle language in every conversation in a certain context.

Abstract

Literary work is a picture of the totality of people's lives that created it. After that the creators of literary works (writers) can use their experiences, thoughts, and imaginary processes so that the work is interesting to read, understand, enjoy, and analyze to capture and understand the messages it receives. Writing this thesis is done with the aim of obtaining a description of the personality of the main character in A. Fuadi's Ranah 3 Warna novel. With this aim, the author examines the novel Ranah 3 Warna by A. Fuadi by applying a literary psychology approach. This research discusses the personality of the main character Alif. Fikri in the novel Ranah 3 Warna by A. Fuadi uses the psychoanalytic theory of Sigmunt Freud. From the results of this study, there are 21 personalities of the main character Alif, namely: never give up.

Abstract

Name is a word or group of words used to identify and mention the name of people, animals and places. This study aims to describe the meaning of people's names in the Karo Batak community in Juhar District, Karo Regency, which are the terms of giving names, types of people's names, categorization of meanings of people's names and cultural values ??in people's names in the Karo Batak community. This research uses the anthropoliguistic approach (cultural liguistic) put forward by Kridalaksana and Beratha which states that cultural linguistics is a study of the position and function of language in a broader social and cultural context which has a role in shaping and maintaining cultural practices and social structures of society. This study also uses the onomastic theory which states that semantics is the study of the relationship between linguistic signs and the things they sign. From the results of the data assessment, it can be concluded that the naming of people in the Batak Karo community in Juhar sub-district is done by means of custom in giving names. The types of names of people in the Karo Batak community in Juhar District are: pranama, kitik and merga. The names of people in the Batak Karo community in Juhar District contain the meaning of hope and the meaning of memories. Furthermore, the names of people in the Batak Karo community in Juhar District contain pragmatic values, namely formal connotations, non-formal connotations, male connotations and feminine connotations in line with Van Buren's opinion.

Abstract

Every ethnicity has various types of traditions that differ from one another. This shows that there are many different types of traditions that exist in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra. As with one of the Karo ethnic traditions, the nengget tradition. The nengget tradition is a ceremony carried out in families who have been married for a long time but have not yet had children. This ceremony can also be performed on families who already have children but are all female or male. Abstract

What is discussed in this research is how the stages of the implementation of the Mate Ncayur N Tua ceremony for the Pakpak ethnic group, what are the symbols used in the implementation of the Mate Ncayur N Tua Ceremony for the Pakpak ethnic group and what are the functions and meanings of the symbols used in the Mate Ncayur N Tua ceremony for ethnic groups. Sir. This study uses Peierce's theory (in Hoed, 2011: 46) which states that a sign is something that represents something else, something that can be in the form of experiences, thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc. that can cover life around us. The basic method used in this research is descriptive method starting from the data collection process, to the analysis stage by applying to the subject matter to get a good result.
