Abstract

The emergence of literature is motivated by the existence of a basic human urge to express his existence through the literary works he creates. Therefore, not a few people are competing to carve their existence by producing various types of literary works. The large number of literary works that were born from the hands of modern and classical writers cannot be separated from the analysis and study of linguists and literary experts. The study of literary works can be viewed from various points of view, one of which is from the character's point of view. The purpose of writing this thesis is to show and obtain a picture of the main character's emotions in the form of joy, anger, fear and sadness as well as the causes of the emotions of the main character in the film Sang Mortar by Helfi Kardit. Research on the film Sang Mortar by Helfi Kardit uses literary psychology theory with the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud with qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this study used library study techniques and descriptive analysis techniques as data analysis techniques. The results of this study can be concluded that, Rangga's character's emotions are evidenced by Rangga's attitudes, reactions, words and treatment of the situation or problem at hand. The causes of emotion in the character Rangga in the film Sang Mortar by Helfi Kardit, among others, are the causes of emotional joy, namely communicating partners, unexpected things and problem solving. The cause of angry emotions, namely unacceptability and feeling controlled. The cause of the emotion of fear, namely feeling that safety is threatened. Cause the emotion of sadness.

Abstract

Literary works are descriptions of human life experiences, which tell about family life and the process of achieving ideals that sometimes do not match what is desired. The purpose of this study is to find and interpret the patriotism values ??contained in the novel Toba Dreamskarya TB silalahi. The method used in this research is reading, listening, and taking notes. The data analysis technique is obtained from reading primary data, then interpreting existing data. Furthermore, describing the values ??of patriotism with the sociological approach of Endraswara literature. Based on the research findings of the novel Toba Dreamsini, it can be concluded that the values ??of patriotism can be divided into 5 forms, namely 1. Love the country. 2. Willing to sacrifice for the benefit of the nation and state. 3. Putting the unity, integrity and safety of the nation and state above personal and group interests. 4. Reformer spirit. 5. Never give up.

Abstract

Folklore is oral literature that is believed by the local community where the folklore developed, although the truth of the story is not certain, of course behind the folklore there are lessons and examples to be better. The selection of the Deleng Pertektekkenini rayat story comes from Doulu Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency and is an oral literature of the Karo people. In this study, the theoretical basis used is the study of intrinsic and moral values ??with qualitative methods. From the intrinsic research, the theme of the story is wealth and strength that blinds a father to his child, until finally the father regrets. The characters of the story are Guru Bidder Remai, Nini Kertah Ernala, the two daughters of Guru Petawar Remai, men from Tanah Karo, neighbors and the community Doulu Village. The setting / setting is Doulu Village and outside Doulu Village. The plot used is a forward plot that is in accordance with the time sequence of events from the beginning to the end of the story. The mandate in the Deleng Pertektekken folklore teaches us not to be arrogant about what we have and of course, mutual respect between fellow human beings. Then the moral values ??are found as follows: first, individual moral values ??include being willing to sacrifice, being honest, fair and wise, respecting and appreciating, working hard, and being humble. The two social moral values ??include cooperation, being helpful, loving, sociable, and caring for the fate of others. Third, religious moral values ??include believing in God, believing in God's power, surrendering to God / trusting in God.

Abstract

This research discusses the noun lexicon of the Sibolga Coastal language in the marine environment in Pondok Batu Village through an ecolinguistic perspective. This study aims to describe the lingual form of marine ecolexicons in the speech communities of the Pesisir Sibolga community. The theory used in this research is ecolinguistic theory. The data were collected using two methods, namely the observation method with the basic technique of tapping and the proficient method with the basic technique of fishing. The data used to support the research were taken by interviewing, observing and distributing questionnaires. The data of this research are noun lexicon related to marine lexicon in Pondok Batu Village. From the analysis, it can be seen that the maritime lexicon in Pondok Batu Village in the Pesisir Sibolga language is divided into four lexicon groups, namely: (1) Marine Environment Fauna Lexicon (96 lexicons); (2) Marine Environment Flora Lexicon (7 lexicons); (3) Marine Environment Activity Facilities / Infrastructure Lexicon (10 lexicons); (4) Oceanic Environment Noun Lexicon (6 lexicons).

Abstract

This study describes the categorization and meaning of agentive motion verbs in Javanese. In this research, Natural Semantic Metlanguage (MSA) theory is used. The data used are sourced from oral data, written data, and intuition data that were collected using the listening method and proficient method. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed using the split method and the equivalent method. Then the results of the analysis are presented using formal methods and informal methods. The results show that the agentive motion verbs are categorized based on components (1) „at that time, X moves to a place?, (2) „at that time, X moves from a place?, (3) „at that time, X moves in front of Y ?, (4)„ at that time, X moves above Y ?, (5)„ at that time, X moves inside Y ?, (6)„ at that time, X moves above Y ?, (7) „at that time, X moved sideways?. The meaning of the agentive movement verb is formed from the polysemi to MOVE / WANT, MOVE / THINK, and MOVE / FEEL.\

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the think pair and share learning model in improving students' ability to write short stories. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Muara with a total of population 119 students. The sample of this research is 32 students using random sampling technique. The instrument used to collect data was a short story writing assignment. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. Learning to write short stories for eighth grade students after using the think pair and share learning model showed relatively good results with an average value of 78.90. Then learning to write short stories before learning with the think pair and share model showed sufficient results with an average value of 67.34. From the t-test analysis it was found that there were significant differences between students after being treated with the think pair and share model and before being treated. Therefore from the results of these data the results of hypothesis testing with the t test are t0 (5.13)> t table (2.04), it has been proven that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hª) is accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Mind Mapping Model ability to write exposition text of tenth grade SMA Negeri 1 Pakkat. The population of this study were all students of SMA Negeri 1 Pakkat with 164 students. The sampling uses random sampling technique consisting of one classnamelywith 30 students. The method in this research is experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design. The instrument used was an essay test. From data processing, obtained pre-test results with an average = 67, standard deviation = 7.44. The result of post-test mean = 80.66 standard deviation = 7.95. From the pre-test and post-test results, both results were normally distributed. From the homogeneity test it was found that the sample of this study came from a homogeneous population. After the normality and homogeneity test, the t° value was obtained at 6.79 with t table at a significant level of 5% with df = N-1 = 30-1 = 29, the t table value was 2.04. These results indicate the t-count value is 6.79> 2.04, then the hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) isaccepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Mind Mapping Model ability to write exposition .

Abstract

This research was motivated by the weakness of teachers in choosing learning models in SD Negeri 173382 Huta Tinggi Kecamatan Parmonangan Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara. The purpose of this study is to improve teacher competency in choosing learning models. This type of research is School Action Research (PTS) which consists of two cycles. The results showed, in the first cycle, of the 5 aspects assessed, namely, conformity with the format of the assessment, the relevance of time with teaching materials, opening, core activities, and concluding scores averaged 65 percent 64.96% with sufficient categories. After repairs in the second cycle, the results of the average assessment of 7 teachers increased to 89 by 88.96% in the very good category. Based on the results of this study,
