JCP (Jurnal Cakrawala Promkes (JCP) is an open-access journal that is peer-reviewed and multidisciplinary forum for the publication of those research that aimed at understanding of the implication and approaches to health promotion and public health. JCP includes research in the social determinants of health, health education, community empowerment, health communication, health sociology, social psychology, anthropology medicine, health promotion programs at various setting. The JCP covers a broad range of topics including socio determinant of health, social psychology, sociology, anthropology medicine, health co­m­munication, health education, health-related behaviour, community empowerment, community organization and community development, a social determinant of health. JCP welcomes papers on the theories and concepts, methodologies, policy formulation, organizational change, as well as social and environmental development, using quan­titative or qualitative methods. All of the papers published are freely available as downloadable pdf files.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death in developing countries. Prevention that can be done by doing early detection of cervical cancer. Usually, women need health education before practising their behaviour. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education on the attitudes of productive married women in the early detection of cervical cancer in the working area of the Payung Sekaki public health care in Pekanbaru. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test without control. Thirty samples were taken using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. Paired t-test results obtained p value= 0,001 which is <0.05 which means that there is a significant influence between health education with changes in the attitude of productive married women in conducting early detection of cervical cancer. It is expected that public health care staff should always provide information on early detection of cervical cancer using media and counselling, to improve life welfare and can change attitudes in the early detection of cervical cancer.

Abstract

Gadgets are used by all people including preschool children. The use of gadgets in the pre-school increase every year and can make the child social behavior is impaired because addicted to gadget duration play with more than 1 hour. This study aims to see the long relationship between the use of gadgets and the social behavior of pre-school children. This type of research is quantitative using a description of correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling with a sample of 76 respondents. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that as many as 46.1% of children use gadgets more than 1 hour every day and 27.6% of children have bad socialization behavior. Chi square correlation test results obtained  = 0.003 (p <0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between the duration of the use of gadgets and the social behavior of pre-school children in TK Negeri Pembina 3 Pekanbaru. The results of this study are expected to provide knowledge to parents who have pre-school children to limit children in using gadgets.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) can cause complication to various body systems. One complication that often happens is diabetic foot. Obedience in carrying out foot treatment has an essential role in therapy management of the patient with DM. This treatment aims to find out behaviour factors related to foot treatment. This research is a correlation description with the cross-sectional approach, conducted on 100 respondents in Rejosari Health Center. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis. The research result obtained is that there is no relation between age, gender, and the duration of suffering from DM and result of foot treatment with each p-value of 0.200, 0.739, 0.876 and 0.156 (>0,05). There is the relation between education, occupation, counselling, family support, knowledge and perception to foot treatment practice with each p-value of 0.019, 0.041, 0.008, 0.001, 0.040 and 0.006 (< 0.05). It is expected that Rejosari Health Center is more often to give counselling about foot treatment to prevent the occurrence of complication.

Abstract

Chemotherapy refers to a procedure treatment by using drugs that can kill cancer cells. The chemotherapy can cause anxiety of patient because they feel frightened physically and mentally. Therefore, the proper coping mechanism should be done to face this problem. This research aims to know about the correlation between coping mechanism and the anxiety level of the patient with cancer who was doing chemotherapy at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. This is quantitative research with descriptive correlation design and cross-sectional approach. The instrument used in this research is questionnaire. There is 96 respondent involved as the sample for this research. All of the respondents is the patient with cancer who was doing chemotherapy at RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province. The author used an accidental sampling method. The analysis style used in this research is the single variable with frequency distribution and two variable with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic test. The result of this research shows that there is no significant effect of coping mechanism towards the anxiety level with p-value = 1,00 (p ≥ 0,05). The author gives a suggestion to RSUD Arifin Achmad Riau Province to increase the quality of coping mechanism to their patient.

Abstract

There are nine percent of women aged 15-19 who have married or living together in Indonesia, one percent of women divorced in the age group of 15-19 years. This scoping review aimed to review the evidence about the marital relationship among young couple in developing countries.  Arksey and O’Malley framework was applied involving identify relevant evidence; identify review question; identify relevant evidence; study selection; charting data; and collating, summarizing and reporting the data. PRISMA flowchart used to show the process of searching the literature. Result of the review showed that there were ten pieces of evidence included and processed within a review. These four themes emerged, i.e. marriage decision-makers for the young couple; changes in the marriage practice of young couples; unpreparedness pregnancy on a young couple; the perspective of young couples about marital relationship. The young married couple will face many environmental and social problems with the result that they must be able to adapt to deal with the stresses and pressures that arise in their family life.

Abstract

Driving safety knowledge is the initial provision that must be possessed before driving on the highway. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the provision of safety riding pocketbooks on increasing student knowledge. The research design used in this study was pre-experimental, with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was the total population with a large sample of 76 vocational students. The data obtained were analyzed using the Wilcoxon alternative test. Before given the safety riding pocketbook of the 20 most questions with the correct answer that is question number 17 as many as 73 respondents (90.6%), while after being given the safety riding pocketbook of the 20 most questions with the correct answer that is question number 18 as many 76 respondents (100%). The average pretest score is 14.75, while the posttest average value is 17.24, and there is a difference in the average deviation of 2.66 with a p-value of 0,000. It can be concluded that it is statistically significant, and there is an increase in student knowledge after being given a pocketbook. There is a difference in the average safety riding knowledge before. After being given a pocketbook to students of class X and XI majoring in TBSM (Motorcycle Engineering and Business) Vocational school Muhammadiyah 3, Yogyakarta with the p-value is 0,000.
