Abstract

Kata Kunci : Bilah Rotan, Twist Bending, Struktur Silinder ABSTRAK Currently many Indonesian rattan products are made of construction modules, woven modules, connection system modules from time to time. Many people who see rattan products are monotonous and outdated. Responding to the problem, an innovation is needed that can change the visual form of the product with certain techniques. From various experiments that have been carried out in Indonesia, the part which is the most common with various kinds of services and methods. Therefore, it can be said that the rattan rod is the part that has the greatest potential to be explored. Rattan stems besides being bent can also be given in other ways, namely by dividing the length which varies depending on the needs. In the market, rattan which is given treatment is known as the rattan bar (rattan strip). Unfortunately, this rattan blade is not sold freely on the market like bamboo, to match it must ask for a letter from the craftsmen. But positively, it becomes easier to get the thickness of the strip that suits your needs. The rattan bar, which the rattan players call raw material, is one of the solutions to rattan that is happening now. With the development of the design of this rattan blade, it is expected that rattan products can be more than techniques. This research was carried out with an experimental method of rattan blades which used a twist bending technique, which is a curved technique while wrapping a rattan blade against the mold. Rattan which is Manau rattan, with a thickness of 3mm and 5mm strips, and made with a mold diameter of 8cm and 15cm. From this writing, use a cylindrical structure made from rattan blades in a way wrapped around. The results of this invention can be used further for design requirements that meet the cylinder structure. Keywords: Rattan Strips, Twist Bending, Cylinder Structure

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Jelek, Indah, Estetika Bentuk, Anthropomorphisasi, Furnitur ABSTRACT Anthropomorphism is an atribution of human characteristic to a non-human form. One of the most recognised product is Mae Lips Sofa by Salvador Dali. Anthropomorphism in furniture are growing along contemporary sofa design nowadays. It became a paradox when public thinks it ugly and dislike it but its value is overly high. One of the furniture with anthropomorphic concept is My Big Fat Sofa. ‘My Big Fat Sofa’ is an experiment-based product by Charlotte Kingsnorth which combines the biomorphic and anthropomorphic shapes. This sofa is a result of an advanced development from AtOne Sofa a sustainable study of anthropomorphisation in furniture. ‘My Big Fat Sofa’ placed in the top five of Google Images Search under the keyword ‘ugly furniture’. It might be related to ‘The Ugly and the Beauty’ concept where disfigurement and splendour of a product are determined by the major vote. However, the assessment result may vary according to the profile of respondents. The researcher intends to identify whether different arguments of the sofa’s aesthetic value might occur by conducting separate surveys using Visual Analogue Scale Methods (VAS) to 20 respondents each, from both creative and non-creative background. This study is also subjected to prove the premise on how respondents’ subjective aspects could also interfere with their aesthetical appreciation of an opus, in generating absolute thoughts towards the creation, aside from ‘The Ugly and the Beauty’ concept. The outcome helps to direct ideas in leading Indonesia’s creative industries, particularly in furniture design, to compete with the fourth revolution (Making Indonesia 4.0). Abstract

Kata kunci : behavioral, evaluasi sensori interaksi manusia dan desain, visceral ABSTRACT Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) empowerment is one of 10 national priorities in making Indonesia's 4.0 initiative. Traditional textile SME spreads in almost all regions of Indonesia, including in Garut, West Java as a producer of silk woven. As a design object, woven fabric must be in accordance with the expected criteria by the user. This research is expected to be useful for traditional textile SMEs to identify the characteristics of woven fabric seen from human and design interaction at the visceral and behavioral level, so that the products are in accordance with user requirements. The sensory evaluation of tactile properties of woven fabric by touching and visual appearance assesment are forms of human interaction and design on the visceral level. In fact, both are become main preferences to the user when deciding to buy woven fabrics. While the response that appears after being used in a certain time interval is a form of interaction at the behavioral level. Tactile properties and visual appearance of the woven fabric which can be evaluated subjectively by human senses is a form of human interaction with the design on a visceral level. Analysis of one way anova against four types of woven silk with diffrent structure shows that as textile materials, plain fabrics rated as the best in total handling properties and considered as the most convenient when used as wearable items. According to it’s visual appearance, the type of surface design on fabric be important to the user preferences when choosing fabrics. Pearson correlation testing showed that the preferences of the user's choice posed by the visceral aspect due to the tactile properties of woven fabric and surface design applications had no effect on the appearance of interaction at the level of behavioral aspects associated with the function, useability and the physical responses. Keywords : behavioral, sensory evaluation, visceral
