Abstract

This research is intended to give attention to people who are grieving because of sudden death. Separation because of death is a "very strenuous" situation for someone because it can cause stress and depression with impacts on psychological well-being, socio-culture, and spirituality. In addition, many people who mourn are not ready to face the separation. Taking the aforementioned things into consideration, the author wants to conduct research and provide help through healing pastoral care. What is meant by healing is to make a grieving person "rise up" from his prolonged grief. Furthermore, it is expected that the mourners can move on in living the future. Sampling was carried out on 5 cases of sudden death at GPIB Sejahtera Bandung. The pastoral care that has been carried out by GPIB Sejahtera Bandung as a whole has not been ideal and has not touched the grief experienced by its members, because the pastoral care of grief has only been served in the form of consolation services carried out before the funeral, deliverance and funeral services, and thanksgiving worship that was held after the funeral. As a result there is nothing that helps the grieving people to be able to rise from their prolonged grief. Relevant pastoral care for people who grieve at GPIB Jemaat Sejahtera Bandung is healing pastoral care. Healing pastoral care is expected to be able to resolve the damage experienced by someone by restoring the person towards wholeness and guiding him/her to reach a better state than the original condition.

Abstract

Israel and church relations are generally seen in two opposite poles. At the first pole the Parentesis's view maintains the difference. At other poles the view of Covenantalis saw the unity of both. The main thesis of this article is the relationship between Israel and the church, that in the end there is only one Israelite or one church to be saved. It was evidenced through the elaboration of Romans 9-11. The Apostle Paul analogize the unity of Israel and the church with the dough and olive trees. In the end, the olive tree consists of a wild bud that is grafted (not Israel) and the original shoots (' All-Israel ' stubborn) are remade. From the description, at the end of this article, the author outlines the relationship application between Israel and the church against some other Christian doctrines, such as: Christology, Soteriology, Ecclesiology, eschatology, and in the practical life of people Christian.

Abstract

Abstract

Historically, 'the poor' are those who are in need materially and so the way to care for them is to give financial or material assistance. While there has been some progress in the recent century, poverty alleviation still remains a major issue in our world. From a Biblical perspective poverty is one of the consequences of sin, but it is understood in a broader way than merely physical poverty. God works to reverse the results of sin and restore all things, which includes all forms of poverty. In the Old Testament the poor are most often discussed in economic terms, however there are also references to those in spiritual need. The primary principle was that the Israelites were to care for the poor among them, which reflected God's care for them. However, they often fail and are rebuked for exploiting the poor. In the New Testament poverty is discussed even more clearly in an holistic way: there are the materially poor, the socially poor, but all people are spiritually poor. Hence the way to care for the poor must address these different types of poverty. Of paramount importance is to help people out of spiritual poverty, for that has eternal consequences. However, it is also clear that Christians who properly understand God's grace to them, will respond by caring for others holistically. Such care was seen in the early NT church from congregations who were transformed to serve, as taught and modelled by Jesus. The ongoing challenge for Christian churches today is to continue to care for all varieties of the poor, enabling and empowering them to help themselves as Jesus' instructed.
