Abstract

Introduction: the performance of nurses is closely related to organizations and individuals who greatly influence the quality of health services in hospitals. Therefore, improving the performance of nurses through leadership needs to be considered. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between leadership with the performance of nurses in hospital.Method: the design of the study was descriptive correlational with a cross-sectional approach.  The sample size of 205 respondents who were selected through simple random sampling technique. The inclusion criteria for respondents were nurse who were implementing nurse, working more than one year, and providing nursing care. The independent variable was the leadership, and the dependent variable was the performance of nurses. The instruments used were the situational leadership questionnaire questionnaire for leadership and the observation sheet: nursing documentation questionnaire for performance of nurse’s questionnaire. The data analysed using descriptive analysis and logistic regression test with a significance value of p ≤ 0.05.Results:  the results showed that the leadership was significantly related to the performance of nurses in hospitals (p = 0.000). The most influential leadership is the democratic leadership. The democratic leadership is mostly owned by nurses with good performance.Conclusion: the leadership of the head of the room with a democratic style can improve the performance of nurses in hospitals by respecting their nature and abilities, encouraging staff to develop, and involving staff in decision making. So that health services in the hospital will be optimal.

Abstract

Introduction: Concern for good psychological condition of nurse regarding workload and social support in every job they do is an effective strategy to increase nurse job satisfaction. Nurse job satisfaction is important for the creation of better nurse performance. The purpose of the study was to explain the relationship between workload and social support with nurse job satisfaction in the inpatient room of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo.Method: The study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross sectional approach. The study population was 164 nurses in the inpatient room of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo. The sample size of 116 respondents was obtained by using cluster random sampling technique. The independent variables are workload and social support, while the dependent variable is nurse job satisfaction. The instruments used are workload questionnaire, social support questionnaire, and nurse job satisfaction questionnaire. Data analysis were used descriptive test and logistic regression test with a significant value of p ≤ 0.05.Results: There was a relationship between workload (p=0.000), social support (p=0,003), instrumental support (p=0.003), informational support (p=0.020), emotional support (p=0.004), appceciation support (p=0.019) with nurse job satisfaction.Conclusions: The light workload is characterized by a balance between the number of nurses and the demands of the existing task and good social support (instrumental support, informational support, emotional support, appreciation support), that nurses feel cared for and appreciated, can increase nurse job satisfaction. So that the performance of nurses increases and creates professional nursing services.

Abstract

Introduction: coming to an old age a person will experience physical, psychological, and biological setbacks. Psychological deterioration which is often found in the elderly is depression (Purbowinoto, 2010). One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be applied to reduce depression levels in the elderly is to use keroncong music therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in depression levels in the elderly before and after being given keroncong music therapy at UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya.Method: the method used was analytical pre-experimental research with pre testpost test design. The independent variable in this study was depression in the elderly, while the independent variable was keroncong music therapy. The population is 40 elderly with 36 samples in the UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya taken using purposive sampling techniques. The data was taken using a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Rank Test statistical test.Results: from the results of the study, it was found that there was a difference in the levels of depressionin the elderly before and after being given keroncong music therapy at UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya with a significant value of = 0.0001 lower than p= 0.05 (p <α). Before the therapy or treatment, most of the elderly experienced depression levels with as many as 11 respondents (30.6%) and after the treatment most of them experienced depression level with as many as 16 respondents (44.4%).Conclusion: it could be concluded that there was a difference in levels of depression in the elderly before and after being given keroncong music therapy at UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya. For this reason, music therapy can be an option to decrease the depression level in the elderly at UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya.

Abstract

Neck pain in batik craftsmen causes discomfort to work so the efficiency and productivity decrease. Neck pain in batik craftsmen is caused by a bent position when sitting for a long time and done by sitting in a small chair which is usually called a dingklik. The process of canting takes 6-8 hours per day so that the batik craftsmen have a short rest time which causes fatigue and muscle tension. The research objective was to analyze the effect of the combination of turmeric water and lavender aromatherapy on neck pain in batik craftsmen. The research design used was pre-experimental using one- group pre-post test data collection method with a sample size of 74 respondents. Samples were taken using probability sampling techniques. The independent variable in this study is the combination of turmeric water and lavender aromatherapy. The dependent variable in this study was neck pain in batik craftsmen. The instrument in this study used a demographic data questionnaire, a numeric rating scale pain measurement sheet and standard operating procedures for making turmeric water and lavender aromatherapy. The research data obtained were analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test α≤0.05. There is an effect of a combination of turmeric water and lavender aromatherapy on neck pain in batik craftsmen in Tuban with a value of α≤0.05, p = 0.000. The combination of turmeric water and lavender aromatherapy can reduce the level of neck pain in batik craftsmen with neck pain complaints.

Abstract

Introduction: Patient safety culture is a program organized to minimize the risk of unexpected events and improve patient safety. This study is aimed to explain the relationship between organizational factors in the implementation of patient safety culture in hospitals based on empirical studies in the last five years.Method: ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Sage, CINAHL, and google scholar databases have been searched using indexed keywords in the Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) on 2015-2020. JBI's review with a cross-sectional study design used to assess research quality. The PRISMA flowchart was used to summarize the study selection process in the literature review with inclusion and exclusion criteria adjusted to the PICOS framework.Results: We found 13 journals that consist of three studies discuss about leadership, seven journals describe about resources, and three journals relate to organizational structure.  Every country has a different characteristic in implementation of patient safety culture. The thirteen journals came from countries that divided in to three continents, there are Asia, Europe, and Africa. The results of this studyshow that leadership, resources, and, organizational structure can optimize the application of patient safety culture. Leadership support motivates health workers in the room in implementing a patient safety culture. Adequate resources reduce the risk of accidents at work, and an effective organizational structure creates good and conducive performance.Conclusions: Provide between three and five key words in alphabetical order, which accurately identify the paper’s subject, purpose, method and focus. Don't use words or terms in the title as keywords. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes. Keywords cannot be more than 5 words or phrases in alphabetical order
