This study was aimed to systematically identify factors associated with nurse’s job satisfaction before and during the pandemic COVID-19. Method: This study was reviewing published papers that met the inclusion criterias. Included studied were assessed for its quality using the Joanna Briggs Institute's critical appraisal checklists. Four electronic databases; ScienceDirect, Scopus, SAGE and PubMed were accessed comprehensively to retrieved targeted articles published from 2017 to 2020. A PRISMA 2020 flow diagram was applied to report the stages of search strategies. Results: A total 26 studies were selected in this review. Factors affecting nurse’s job satisfaction before and during the pandemic COVID-19 can be classified as personal factors, organizational factors, and psychological factors. Psychosocial risk, emotional intelligence, workload, supervisor quality, and salary were found to have strong association with job satisfaction. Thus, turnover and burnout were the most frequent reasons reported by nurses before the pandemic COVID-19. Conclusion: Nurse’s job dissatisfaction resulted turnover and burnout. The current study underlined three factors affecting nurse’s job satisfaction as follow: personal, organizational and psychological factors. Therefore, it’s imperative to increase job satisfaction by way controlling the aforementioned factors.

Abstract

Introduction: Clinical pathway is an integrated concept in the form of preventing unnecessary care, medication errors or other harmful incidents. Strategies to improve nurse compliance on clinical pathways have widely implemented. However, the effectiveness was found to be inconsistent. This study aimed to determine the effect of the socialization of the explicit instruction method on nurse compliance in the implementation of the COVID-19 clinical pathway. Method: This research method applied a pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used total sampling with a sample of 24 respondents from September to November 2021. The dependent variable was the socialization of the clinical pathway with the explicit instruction method. The independent variable was nurse compliance in the implementation of the COVID-19 clinical pathway. Data was taken by means of observation using a clinical pathway checklist instrument which was then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with sig p <0.05. Results: the results of this study prove that there was a significant effect of providing socialization. Explicit instruction method on nurse compliance showed a significant impact on the implementation of the COVID-19 clinical pathway with a value (p = 0.008) with a compliance rate of 83%. Conclusions: Compliance with the established clinical pathway increase quality of health care service. This study found explicit instruction method effectively increase nurse compliance on the COVID-19 clinical pathway. Studies measuring explicit instruction in combination with other methods that strengthen nurse compliance with clinical pathway are crucial to be conducted.

Abstract

Introduction: For the most recent, smoking among teenagers was found as a common behavior in the society. The behavior was studied to be associated with self-control ability along the transition’s period from child to adulthood. Nevertheless, less study on this issue was conducted in developing country with a huge population of teenagers such as in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the relationship between Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) and Smoking Behavior among adolescents in a rural area of Indonesia. Method: This study applied cross-sectional approach. Through purposive sampling technique, a total of 44 respondents involved. Data were collected by self-report paperbased questionnaire. Data analysis were conducted in two phases of descriptive and inferential statistics. The significant value (p) was set at 0.05 or lower. Results: The results showed almost all respondents had PBC as many as 33 respondents (75.0%) and had been smoking behavior as many as 27 respondents (61.4%). Considering statistical analysis, the obtained p value was 0.368 or higher than 0.05. The result showed no relation between PBC and smoking behavior. Less association in the two variables might relate to the influence of peers and the informant's social environment. Conclusion: This study underlined the urgency of supporting teenagers by way strengthening their self-confidence and establishing peer’s support group on the impact of smoking. It is highly suggested, community health education in the school settings should consist of establishing teenager’s self-awareness. Further research examining factors that relate to their critical ability to make decision are necessary.

Abstract

Introduction: Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is often complained by adults.  The impacts of insomnia have been widely reported to decrease productivity, less involvement in social activities, and decline in mental health status. Interventions to the main quality and quantity of sleep among adults emphasized the benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).  Nevertheless, the implementations and effects of this particular therapy among adults seem inconsistent. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy on insomniacs. Method: A literature review with article searches conducted on the PubMed, SpringerLink, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases was applied, The keywords Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AND) Insomnia, in articles published in 2018-2021. After going through the selection process, the authors received 10 articles, 6 articles used the Randomized Control Trial method, 1 Case Series Study article, 2 pre-experimental articles, and 1 Single-Arm Pilot Trial article. Results: The following characteristics of cognitive behavioral therapy were reported to have positive impacts on adults with insomnia.  The interventions significantly reduced the level of insomnia of adults aged 26- to 35 years old, the given intervention was delivered for a minimum of 45 minutes to a maximum of 60 minutes, and the length of the program delivered was one to three months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is significant for reducing insomnia. Conclusions:  This review on people with insomnia treated by CBT underlined the impact of the intervention on the targeted outcomes. The findings may have led to greater benefits and that the targeted population had access to high-quality sleep care. Evidence from this review suggested comprehensive sleep management will likely lead to further improvements, as will continued support and implementation beyond the end of the program. A critical need to develop methodologically comprehensive trials with larger sample size and long follow-up periods which rigorously evaluate the efficacy of CBT interventions associated with sleep is required.

Abstract

Introduction: : Cardiac arrest is a sudden cessation of ineffective pumping. Cardio-pulmonal-resuscitation (CPR) applied to save the life among those with cardiac arrest. During the pandemic COVID-19 patients, cardiac arrest was found as the major causes of death Even cardio-pulmonal-resuscitation (CPR) applied to save the life, a few of them was survived. The purpose of this review is to determine the quality of life in COVID-19 patients with CPR post cardiac arrest. Method: The paper research was reviewed regarding their inclusion criteria and quality assessment using the Joana Briggs Institute’s critical appraisal checklist. Three academic databases; PubMed, Springerlink, and Science direct were comprehensively applied to collect the published article from 2017 to 2020. They are Articles were selected by PRISMA 2020 flow diagram for systematic review. Results: A total 10 studies were yielded in the final analysis. Factor affecting successful CPR in COVID-19 patient post cardiac arrest were; duration of CPR was delivered between six to 20 minutes. In comparison to the situation before thepandemic COVID-19, less neurological function improvement was signed of lowering quality of life of CPR patients with COVID-19. Conclusion: This study highlighted the quality of life in COVID-19 patients with cardiac arrest and conducted CPR was poorer compared to those before the pandemic. Findings considered COVID-19 placed cardiac arrest survivor in a higher risk of morbidity and mortality. Future study determines factors associated with higher probabilities of surviving after CPR delivered among patient with COVID-19 post cardiac is highly recommended.
