Abstract

Fish protein hydrolisatc (FPH) is expected to give more benefit in increasing added value of fish, because FPH has many advantages such as easier to digest by human, better functional properties and higher solubility.This research is aimed to find out the influences of time for enzymatic hydrolysis to pH, viscocity, foaming capacity andgel forming on hydrolysed mujair (Oreochromismossambicus) fish protein processing. A completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 4 rep I icates was used. The treatments used time hydrolysis 60, 80 and l 00 minutes. The parameters analyzed were pH, viscocity, foaming capacity and gel foaming. Result showed that the treatment significant (p<0,05)aftected pH, viscocity and foaming capacity. pH 5,42, viscocity 6,94 N/m2 and gel foaming 7, 17% was obtained in 60 minutes time hydrolysis treatment. However, fish protein hydrolysate did not perform any gel.

Abstract

The availability and quality of fodder resources is the principal constraint to cow cattle production. The fodder available usually include grasses, legumes and crops residues such as straw of paddy rice. The objective for the observation research is to study the production and potency of paddy rice straw as beef cattle fodder, using survey method, in Rernbang Regency: Data were col.lected through interviewing using structured questionnaires with 66 respondents in 3 district: Kragan, Pamotan and Surnber, for 6 months. Data of production and potency of paddy rice straw were analyzed by usual method. The result showed that population of cow cattle inyear2004 was 95.288 head, which increased in the first 3 months of2005 co be IO 1.634 head. The potency of the paddy rice straw for beef cattle fodder was 46,23% in 2004, whereas in 2005 was 43,02%. As conclusion, the availability and quality of cow canle fodder which is very low in the dry season will affect the productivity of cow cattle.

Abstract

During new order period, priority was given to the hi-tech industry sector and less favorable to the agricultural sector. Many researchers pointed out that.the previous policy as the main cause of the current big numbers of peasant farmers.Poor farmers responsed to the innovation differently, Tbe response was affected by several factors. To find out the response, deeper assessment was carried out from August to October 2004 in Ternanggung District. Peasant farmers, coming from the medium and high land, were interviewed using structural questionnaire. Aside of primary data, secondary data was gathered from related institutions. Research showed that high land peasant farmers were more passive than medium land farmers, High land farmers had less ability on capital improvement, risk-averse to the new program, discouraged to change fanning practices, and their expertise improvement effortwas less than those of medium land farmers. Factors affecting were low education attainment and less infrastructure supports (i.e. transportation.informauon, formal banking institution). Up to the end of the new order period, KUT!Kredit Usahatani (Farming Credit) was the only source of formal.credit for farmers, Along with the Banking regulation, KUT was changed to KKP/Kredit Ketahanan Pangan (Food Security Credit). However, the new scheme credit was not fully responded either.

Abstract

This research was done in orderto predict shelf life of banana fruit flour (Musa poradisiacai in commercial packaging storage, using Accelerated Storage Studies reffered lo Arrhenius model. The commercial packaging using cloths bag, polyethylene film (0,005 mm thickness), and double polyethylene film (0,0 IO thickness). Each bags contains 50 gram samples. These samples were storaged indifferent condition, i.e. 30°C, 35°C and 45°C, in 80% relative humidity (RH) atmosphere for six weeks storage. Once in every week, the samples were evaluated on its critical water content. The results showed that the sample packaged in cloths bag can survive until 2.4 month storage. in polyethylene mono layer until 2.8 month and in double polyethylene until 4.2 month.

Abstract

Instant tiwul usually made from gaplek. The changes of gaplek by banana flour for making instant tiwul was a modification processing. Kepok Gablok (Musa paradisiacafa corniculatai was a good plantain banana for making banana flour. The formulation and steamed duration influence significantly to the volume improvement, proximate content and organolepric characteristics, except the sticky score of banana instant tiwul. The preference was on banana instant tiwul with formulation of70% banana flour, 20% com flour, 5% wheat flour, with characteristics of 50,68% volume improvement, content of ash 3, I 2%, fat 1.97%. protein 5.93%, carbohydrate 85,88%, and the waler content of3,08%.This resulted in the instant ti\,1.11 that was ratersof\ and not delicious but it meet people preference.

Abstract

The study objectives are to determine common errors and the cause ofthe errors on the subjects• predicate concord of positive sentences in simple present tense usually made by junior high school student. Since the subject-predicate concord has many kinds of mies it may be difficult to learn. The popu• lation of this study was the J•d year junior high school student ofSLTP Negeri T Gubug Purwodadi. The sample were 60 students or 21 % of population. A test was used for instrument in form of composition of multiple choice. to measure the strength ofthe validity and reliability and a try out test was conducted. The result show that the instrument is valid and reliable. The student test resulted that the student competency was low since only 26.60° o of student mastered the subject while the 73,35% not mastered. A lots of exercises both wrirten and orally will be useful to master subject-predicate concord.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to determine the potential role of meiobenthos asa natural food for the black tiger shrimp iPenaeus monodon Fabricius) post larvae, and to investigate the meiobenthos community and environmental factors under feed and non feed conditions of shrimp culture. The research was conducted in laboratory research. The method used was Randomized Complete Block Design in three treatments and three replica• tions. The first treatment ( C) served as a control and contained only Mangrove sediment and sea water. The second, treatment I (TI). contained mangrove sediment. sea water, shrimp postlarvae and feed pellet, and rhe last, treatment 2 (T2), with mangrove sediment, sea water. shrimp postlarvae without feed pellet. The data were collected weekly for S weeks. During the experiment period, environmental factors and organic contents were found within a suit• able range for shrimp culture. There were no significant differences in the values of salinity, water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, ammonia (NH3), nitrate (N03), and nitrite (N02) among the treatments. This research found that meiobenthos in the stomach content of shrimp prostlarvae, in treatment without feed pellet, was one week longer than that in the treatment with feed pellet. This implied that, in the condition without feed pellet, the shrimp postlarvae could survive and grow with a natural food in the sediment. The study tended recommend that the meiobentos could serve as natural food for post larvae of penaeid shrimp at least for five weeks
