Abstract

The research has been conducted to gain insight and understanding of how downtown culture is perceived by college students. The data collected were from students at a small university in a small town of fewer than 50,000 people. Of the 120 responses, 30% came from students who were originally from city, 26% came from students from somewhere else in the state, 22% came from students that were originally from somewhere else in the country besides the state, and 17% are from international students. The research employed a 28-question survey based on personal opinion of downtown culture and how involved students are there in the said culture. The results indicate that it would be very beneficial if downtown area held more events that are open to the whole community. It is especially important to hold events that include our diverse population of people who are from out of state or from a country abroad that are similar to military appreciation events. The future studies may investigate community/university student partnerships through interdisciplinary outreach and participation as well as service-learning. The universities can play a significant role as innovation and research hubs, bringing together public, commercial, and non-profit institutions.

Abstract

Transportation comes from the Latin word tranportare, and has 2 utilities, namely place utility and time utility to facilitate relationships between other communities. Article searches are carried out using the "Google Scholar" and "ResearchGate" databases. The preparation of the research follows the basic steps of research which include determining the research objectives, conducting a literature review on the development of the Kaizen method. This paper finds that the kaizen method has been used in various social fields, transportation and so on. Road transport is a major contributor to C02 emissions due to dependence on fossil fuels. The main causes of emissions are motor vehicles, buses, taxis, and intercity foam. The main reference for the design and development of Transjakarta is the BRT system. Transjakarta is considered as one of the cities in the world that has failed to achieve high quality BT services. Building a sustainable transportation system for big cities and complexes is not an easy thing. The Transjakarta BRT system is projected to be a sustainable solution for the ever-increasing needs of urban transportation. Various problems and shortcomings are interconnected such as: Inefficiency (low carrying capacity), physical problems (design) and construction), operational issues of mismanagement and political issues of lack of transparency and corruption. Refers to the best practice of the BRT system in the world, development of regulations and plans have been studied and implemented extensively.

Abstract

Constraint optimization Redundancy Allocation Problem (CoRAP) is a complex real world integer programming problem. Many researchers have used various techniques to solve CoRAP. Many complex problems are being solved by various evolutionary techniques, and among these Spider Monkey Optimization algorithms (SMOs) and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithms (PSOs), which focus on the behavior of monkeys and collective nature of birds in a swarm, are the most promising and recent interests of researchers. Therefore, in this article, SMO and PSO is tuned to solve the problem based on integer programming, CoRAP for Water Treatment Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant (WTP) subject to cost constraint. The results obtained using SMO are compared with the results obtained by applying the same problem to the PSO algorithm. SMO and PSO are implemented using MATLAB. The findings demonstrate the better performance of SMO.

Abstract

Many organizations that run their business processes depend on the individuals within the organization rather than to the system so that problems can occur. If one individual does not exist and consequently hinder the performance of other individuals, such as the example of the division of sales and finance dependence on administration and warehouse divisions. Difficulty serving many customers and many kinds of products, as well as mismatches stock data and reports in real compare by system also raises its own problems in this company. Therefore, the authors are interested in doing research, which this study aims to determine how the effects of the adoption of E-Commerce system, Distribution Management System (DMS), and Warehouse Management system to the performance improvement of human resources in the company Marine Asia Pacific. This study was conducted in individuals who use the system the number of respondents 40 people. The census data collection methods, and data processing using multiple linear regression analysis, assisted with SPSS software version 21. Results of this study showed that the adoption of E-Commerce system, Distribution Management system (DMS), and Warehouse Management system (WMS) had effect on Performance Improvement of Human Resources partially or simultaneously in the MAP company.

Abstract

The research aimed to propose the implementation of prediction (forecast) using the approaches of overtime and adding the number of employees in convection industry. This study uses a descriptive type of research with time series method. The research data is quantitative data, which is processed by forecasting methods through Zaitun Time Series, as well as aggregate planning. The data collection techniques are such as interviews, documentation and observations. The results show that the best methods to calculate the prediction in Convection Industry are the Decomposition Multiplicative and Decomposition Additive methods. Conducting aggregate planning in Convection Industry with overtime approach for the Wool Peach product(s) costs about Rp 38,689,840,000; for the Max Mara product(s) it costs about Rp 8,344,647,000; while for the Rayon product(s) it costs about Rp 10,769,950,000. Meanwhile, conducting aggregate planning in Convection Industry with the approach of adding the number of employees for the Wool Peach product(s) costs about Rp 38,630,470,000; for the Max Mara product(s) it costs about Rp 8,343,099,000; while for the Rayon products(s) it costs about Rp 10,768,180,000. Convection Industry is recommended to apply the approach of adding the number of employees so as to increase production rather than using the overtime approach (ARRR, AR).
