Intersections: Jurnal Pendidikan matematika dan matematika
The journal invites original research articles and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The whole spectrum of research in mathematics education are welcome, which includes, but is not limited to the following topics: Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is a teaching and learning theory in mathematics education that was first introduced and developed by Freudenthal. Two of his important points of views are mathematics must be connected to reality and mathematics as human activity. RME is implemented following three principles, they are: (1) guided reinvention and progressive mathematizing, (2) didactical phenomenology, and (3) self-developed model. Furthermore, the practice of RME also has its own characteristics, they are: (1) phenomenological exploration or the use of contexts, (2) the use of models or bridging by vertical instruments, (3) the use of students own productions and constructions or students contribution, (4) the interactive character of the teaching process or interactivity, and (5) the intertwining of various learning strands. A paper is eligible to be included in this topic if the paper accommodates these three principles and these five characteristics. Design Research in Mathematics Education Educational design research is perceived as the systematic study of designing, developing and evaluating educational interventions (programs, teaching-learning strategies and materials, products, systems) as solutions to such problems. It also aims at advancing our knowledge about the characteristics of these interventions and the processes to design and develop them. Authors could submit their work, either a validation study or a development study in mathematics education, with a comprehensive description and analysis of every stage. Mathematics Ability Mathematics ability refers to the ability (a human construct) to obtain, to process, and to retain mathematical information (cognitive) and to solve mathematics problem (pragmatic). To maintain the focus of this journal, the scope of mathematics ability includes the following abilities: reasoning, connection, communication, representation, and problem-solving. A paper is eligible for this topic if it comprehensively discusses those abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this class action research is to (1) improve students' mathematics learning achievement through learning with the help of worksheet open ended approach in class VII F SMPN 2 Ceper, Ceper District, Klaten Regency 2017/2018 Academic Year. (2) Describe how to overcome the constraints of applying learning with the help of worksheet open ended approach to improve mathematics learning achievement of class VII F SMPN 2 Ceper. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: (1) The application of the learning with the help of worksheet open ended approach can improve the learning achievement of grade VII F SMPN 2 Ceper, which is indicated by: students of class VII F as many as 32 students have increased learning achievement that is before action only 53.1% of students study completely, after the action becomes 100%. How to overcome constraints, namely the teacher must be skilled in applying learning with the help of worksheet open ended approach is: a) reviewing the concepts and basic competencies that students will learn, b) forming heterogeneous study groups both in terms of ability, gender, religion, tribes etc., c) prepare everything about learning as well as possible so that when learning runs smoothly, d) minimize the number of group members so that learning takes place effectively with no passive group members or playing alone during group discussions, e) giving gifts at the best group presentations.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out how to apply the Team Game Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model in learning mathematics. (2) determine whether using the cooperative model type Team Game Tournament (TGT) can improve student mathematics learning outcomes. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The sample in this study were all grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Plumbon in the academic year 2019/2020 as many as 24 students. The instruments used in this study were observation, documentation and student achievement tests Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: the use of a cooperative model type Team Game Tournament (TGT) can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics class V SD Negeri 1 Plumbon. This can be shown in the final cycle test results obtained a significant increase in value, meaning that the learning process of mathematics using the cooperative model type Team Game Tournament (TGT), the class average value has increased with the results in the pre-cycle of 51.625; cycle I amounted to 63.75 and cycle II amounted to 75.625. With the percentage of completeness in the pre-cycle of 29.17%, the first cycle of 50% and the second cycle of 79.17%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was 1) to find out the application of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Cooperative learning model in order to increase the learning interest of the fifth grade students of Tangkisan State Elementary School.. The results of this study indicate that: (1) In general, the application of the appropriate TAI learning model is effective in improving mathematics learning achievement, (2) Increased mathematics learning achievement of fifth grade elementary school students at Tangkisan at 61.07 in the first cycle of 75, 31 in the second cycle of 84.69

Abstract

This study attempts to explain what distribution of opportunities is in accordance with population growth if a family must have sons and evaluate policies based on the data obtained. The distribution of opportunities according to population growth if a family must have sons is a geometric distribution. For n families, the binomial distribution is used to measure the success rate of the government. If the chances of having a baby boy are high, then the chances of the one-child policy will be successful. In addition, the one-child policy in China was a policy implemented during the Deng Xiaoping administration in 1979 until it was finally abolished at the end of 2015. The decision to abolish this policy is of course a very interesting matter because this policy has been implemented for more than three decades and has succeeded in driving economic growth and improving the standard of living of the Chinese people. After more than three decades of implementation, various social and economic impacts have been felt by China as a result of the one-child policy. The low fertility rate in China, the imbalance of the sex ratio, and the aging population are new problems facing China because of the implementation of this policy. Taking into account these effects, the Chinese government officially abolished the one-child policy and implemented a new policy that allows every couple in China to have two children

Abstract

Multiple myeloma is an infectious disease characterized by the accumulation of abnormal plasma cells, a type of white blood cell, in the bone marrow. The main objective of this data analysis is to investigate the effect of Bun, Ca, Pcells and Protein risk factors on the survival time of multiple myeloma patients from diagnosis to death. In the survival data analysis, the observed random variable T is the time needed to achieve success. To explain a random variable, the cumulative distribution function or the probability density function can be used. In survival analysis, the function of the random variable that becomes important is the survival function and the hazard function which can be derived using the cumulative distribution function or the probability density function. In general, it is difficult to determine the survival function or hazard function of a population group with certainty. However, the survival function or hazard function can still be approximated by certain estimation methods. The Kaplan-Meier method can be used to find estimators of the survival function of a population. Meanwhile, to find the estimator of the cumuative hazard function, the Nelson-Aalen method can be used. From the variables studied, it turned out that the one that gave the most significant effect was the Bun variable, namely blood urea nitrogen levels using both the exponential and weibull distribution. However, by using the weibull distribution, the presence of Bence Jones Protein in urine also has a quite real effect

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate application of the cooperative script method in order to increase the learning interest of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Prembulan. The results of this study indicate that: (1) In general, the application of the appropriate cooperative script method is effective in increasing interest in learning mathematics, (2) Increasing interest in learning mathematics for fifth grade students of SD Prembulan in pre-cycle by 62.07 in cycle I of 76, 31 in cycle II amounted to 85.39.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether applying the Make A Math cooperative learning model can increase student learning activeness in mathematics. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). This Classroom Action Research was carried out in two cycles, each of which included planning, action, observation and reflection. The sample in this study were all class VIIA students of SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen in the academic year 2018/2019, totaling 24 students. The instruments used in this study were observation, documentation and questionnaires.Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Make a math type of cooperative learning model can increase student learning activeness in mathematics class VII SMP Negeri 7 Kebumen. The increase in student learning activeness can be seen in the questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire of student learning activeness using the Make A Type cooperative learning model, there was an increase from pre-cycle by 56.71% in the low category, increasing in the first cycle to 67.03% in the moderate category and increasing again in the second cycle, namely by 81.04%

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out on the topic of Sequences and Series: (1) which had better learning achievement among cooperative learning Group Investigation (GI) or a direct learning; (2) which had better learning achievement between melancholies students, phlegmatic students, sanguine students or choleric students; (3) at each personality types, which had better learning achievement among GI or direct learning, and (4) at each learning models, which had better learning achievement between melancholies students, phlegmatic students, sanguine students or choleric students. This research was a quasi-experimental with 2×4 factorial design. The population was all students in tenth grade of vocational schools technology, health, and agriculture in Klaten Regency on Academic Years 2019/2020. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling technique. The total of sample was 80 students. Statistical tests using the method Lilliefors test for normality, homogeniety of the Bartlett method, anava test with F test (Fisher) and post hoc test using the Scheffe’ method. The significance level was 0,05. Based on hypothesis test, it could be concluded as follows: (1) GI had better learning achievement than direct learning,; (2) there were no any differences in the learning achievement in mathematics of the students with melancholies, phlegmatic, sanguine or choleric personality types; (3) in each personality types, the cooperative learning model GI had better than cooperative learning Jigsaw II direct learning model; (4) in each learning model, the students with melancholies, phlegmatic, sanguine or choleric personality types have the same learning achievement
