Abstract

Inequality in development arises as a result of demographic differences between regions and is added to the fact that it is not balanced with the principles of justice and equity. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of HDI and poverty levels on development inequality in Sulawesi Island. The population of all provinces on Sulawesi Island is 6 Provinces where all were taken as samples with a 12-year study period from 2011 – 2022. The analytical method uses multiple linear regression with hypothesis testing, namely the t-test and F-test. The results obtained partially HDI has an influence on development inequality, while poverty has no effect on development inequality. But simultaneously the HDI and the poverty rate have an influence on development inequality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the company’s internal factors on dividend policy in processed food sub-industry companies in Indonesia. The internal factors that determine the dividend policy tested in this research are Collateralizable Assets, Investment Opportunity Sets, Lagged Dividend, and Debt Policy. This research uses a quantitative approach, using secondary data derived from the financial reports of processed food sub-industry companies listed on the IDX for the 2016-2021 periods. Purposive sampling method was used to obtain a sample of 13 companies from a population of 24 companies. The data analysis technique used is panel data regression. The results showed that partially Investment opportunity set, lagged dividend, and debt policy had a positive and significant effect on dividend policy. Meanwhile Collateralizable Assets have no significant effect on dividend policy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on income inequality in Indonesia. The analytical method used includes linear regression to evaluate the causal relationship between the dependent variable (Gini Ratio) and ICT indicators. Furthermore, the k-means clustering algorithm is used to group provinces based on ICT characteristics. The results of the regression analysis show that the ICT variables have a significant influence on the Gini Ratio, illustrating the close relationship between ICT and income inequality. In addition, clustering produces two regional groups: Cluster 1, with better access and use of ICT, and Cluster 2, with lower ICT characteristics but advantages in telecommunication infrastructure. This research shows the importance of inclusive and sustainable ICT development to reduce income inequality in Indonesia. Appropriate policies for increasing the accessibility and use of ICTs can have a positive impact on social and economic development throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of socio-economic indicators on crime rates in 13 large cities in Indonesia in 2015-2021. This research is quantitative research using the path analysis method. The results of the study show that partially, GRDP per capita and the open unemployment rate have a positive and significant effect on the poverty rate. Population density and human development index variables have a negative and significant effect on the level of poverty. Simultaneously the variables GRDP per capita, population density, human development index, and open unemployment rate have a significant effect on the level of poverty. Partially the per capita GRDP variable has a negative and significant effect on the crime rate and the open unemployment rate variable has a positive and insignificant effect on the crime rate. The variables of population density, human development index, and poverty rate have a positive and significant effect on crime rates. Simultaneously the variables GRDP per capita, population density, human development index, open unemployment rate, and poverty rate have a significant effect on crime rates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how exports, imports, and money supply in Indonesia affect the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar. This quantitative research uses multiple linear regression with time series data from 2005 to 2022 obtained from BPS Indonesia. The results showed that exports have a negative and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate, while imports have no significant effect. The money supply has a positive and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate. The coefficient of determination of 88.85% indicates that the model can explain significant variations in the Rupiah exchange rate. This analysis focuses on the complex dynamics between exports, imports, money supply, and the Rupiah exchange rate.  The results of this study are expected to provide more comprehensive insights into maintaining the stability of the Rupiah exchange rate and make a significant contribution to the development of national economic policy.
