Abstract

There is an assumption that the use of learning tools by Catholic Religion teachers is still uncommon, albeit essential. This paper intends to find and describe the utilization of media during this time by primary School of Catholic religious Education teachers in the city of Pontianak and at the same time finding the supporting factors and barriers in using the learning tools. The method used is qualitative with data collected from seven primary school Catholic religious teachers. Data is derived from live observation, interviews, and field documentation. Results are processed with qualitative data analysis techniques. The research team found that Catholic religious education teachers might not have maximized the utilization of the media in the Catholic religious learning process at school. Albeit the access to some supporting factors in some schools, such as: classrooms, computers, whiteboards, imageries, and teaching books, several factors reduced the usage of learning tools in Catholic Religion. Some of the internal factors were the teachers’ lack of ability in designing the media, or in using technologies necessary for that, or just the reluctance to learn them. As for the external factors, some schools did not have a particular room for Catholic religion classes. Hence, class alterations were common.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics of the VAK (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) learning styles of students or learners. Learning style is a very important learning modality. Information relating to the characteristics of student learning styles is very important for the teacher so that the teacher can choose a fixed learning strategy, which will thus improve the quality of learning. Students will also more easily motivate themselves in learning. This research is non-experimental and classified as a qualitative analytical descriptive study. The subjects of this research were all students of class X SMAK St. Petrus Ende 2019/2020 school year. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire filled out by research subjects. This learning style questionnaire was filled out by 189 students of class X of SMAK St. Petrus Ende 2019/2020 school year. The results of the analysis of the learning styles of class Xa students are dominated by auditory learning styles (50.00%). Class Xb is dominated by auditory learning styles (60.53%). Class Xc is dominated by auditory learning styles (68.42%). Class Xd is dominated by a combined visual and auditory learning style (37.84%). Class Xe is dominated by auditory learning styles (55.27%). Overall learning styles of class X students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende class of 2019/2020 is dominated by auditory learning style that is equal to 52.91%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of character education on students emotional intelligence, and also measure how much influence the character's education had on the emotional intelligence of teenagers. Researchers used quantitative research methods to be able to know and at the same time measure the effect between variable X and variable Y. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Malaka Barat, especially class XI with a total number of students of 160. Determination of the sample was selected using random sampling techniques, while the number the sample was determined by the Slovin formula of 62 students. The determination of this sample is considered representative and can be justified because it uses standard techniques that can be trusted. The research data were collected through observation and questionnaire distribution, and then an analysis was carried out with the previous normality test, product moment correlation test and simple regression equation. The research data shows that between character education in schools and emotional intelligence have a "strong" relationship, where the results of the product moment correlation test found a correlation coefficient of 0.784 or as much as 61.46% if converted using the coefficient of determination test. From these data it can be concluded that there is a strong influence between character education and adolescent emotional intelligence of 61.46% and the remaining 38.54% is determined by other factors.

Abstract

In the formation of priestly candidates, there are 2 (two) important inseparable dimensions, namely, intellectual formation and spiritual direction. In the reality, how can we justify the empirical relationship between the faith of Jesus Christ with the life of prayer of the holy ordination candidate? What is the real contribution to the advancement of the priestly candidates' formation at the high seminary? To solve that problem, we take a quantitative descriptive research with the approach of descriptive analysis. In this way, we investigate the relationship between the variable of the faith of Jesus Christ, Son of God with the life of prayer of CSE Brothers. We have confidence that the relationship between the faith of Jesus Christ and the life of prayer will bring the priestly candidates for the living encounter with God in Christ and it will change their life entirely. For that reason, we formulate a minor hypothesis as follows. The Encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God as a Spiritual Foundation for the CSE Brothers at Scholastic Community in Landak, West - Borneo. The result of the research explains that the minor hypotheses can be accepted. We record that there is a significant relationship between the faith of Jesus Christ, Son of God with the life of prayer of CSE Brothers at Scholastic Community in Landak, West - Borneo. There is a positive relationship between the faith of Jesus Christ, Son of God with the life of prayer of CSE Brothers at Scholastic Community in Landak with the percentage scale between 63% and 55%.

Abstract

The implementation of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Semarang City Rayon has developed through direct coordination or via online media, studies of teaching material sources, the application of contextual methods and sharing of faith experience have not been maximized, only 58% of catechists have media, and only 75% of catechists believe in the mastery of the sacramental materials of the Chrismas; (2) The causes of suboptimal are there are differences in media tastes and learning methods, catechist educational background, lack of catechist training and regeneration, and not yet standardized teaching materials throughout the city of Semarang, (3) Optimization is carried out with periodic socialization and refreshment of materials, training pleasant teaching methods, open dialogue related to Semarang city rayon material standards, and catechist requirements with the spirituality of the preacher.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of recruitment and awareness of vocations as Catholic religious education teachers on teacher performance in schools with competence as an mediation variable. Primary data was collected through questionnaires to 51 Catholic religious education teachers in the archdiocese of Merauke. Five hypotheses were tested by multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that five hypotheses proved significant. This finding indicates that the highest percentage of variables that influence directly or indirectly on teacher performance in schools is competence. Recruitment and awareness of the special vocation as a Catholic religion teacher also had a positive effect on performance but with a lower percentage. This indicates that competence plays a dominant role in improving the performance of Catholic religious education teacher in schools. These findings also serve as input for school administrators to apply the procedures for recruitment and selection of candidates of Catholic religious education teachers according to what is regulated in the Code of Canon Law 1983.The recruitment process is quite specific, providing enormous opportunities for obtaining Catholic religious education teachers who really aware of the special vocation and have sufficient competence. Existing aspects will affect the performance as a teacher when actively involved in teaching and educating children in school.
