Abstract

There is an assumption that the use of learning tools by Catholic Religion teachers is still uncommon, albeit essential. This paper intends to find and describe the utilization of media during this time by primary School of Catholic religious Education teachers in the city of Pontianak and at the same time finding the supporting factors and barriers in using the learning tools. The method used is qualitative with data collected from seven primary school Catholic religious teachers. Data is derived from live observation, interviews, and field documentation. Results are processed with qualitative data analysis techniques. The research team found that Catholic religious education teachers might not have maximized the utilization of the media in the Catholic religious learning process at school. Albeit the access to some supporting factors in some schools, such as: classrooms, computers, whiteboards, imageries, and teaching books, several factors reduced the usage of learning tools in Catholic Religion. Some of the internal factors were the teachers’ lack of ability in designing the media, or in using technologies necessary for that, or just the reluctance to learn them. As for the external factors, some schools did not have a particular room for Catholic religion classes. Hence, class alterations were common.

Abstract

Strategi Guru PAKat mengajar dari rumah selama pandemi covid-19 mendapat perhatian serius dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas pendidikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan strategi yang digunakan oleh para guru PAKat, menemukan faktor pendukung dan penghambat selama mengajar dari rumah. Metode yang digunakan kualitatif dengan sumber data para orang guru PAKat tingkat SMA/SMK di wilayah Kota Pontianak. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara langsung dan lewat google form. Hasil diolah dengan teknik analisis data secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menemukan strategi yang digunakan oleh para PAKat selama mengajar dari rumah masa pandemi Covid-19 berupa Project Based Learning, Daring Method, luring method, home visit method, Blended Learning, youtube learning, strategi tanya jawab, dan strategi evaluasi hasil belajar. Faktor pendukung; guru memiliki banyak waktu dalam menyiapkan materi pembelajaran, batuan pulsa/kuota dari sekolah, dan tersedianya wifi. Faktor penghambat; koneksi internet yang kurang lancar, SDM pemanfaatan teknologi masih kurang, sulit mengukur pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta didik, kurangnya interaksi dalam pembelajaran, biaya belajar mahal, dan tingkat keaktifan dalam belajar kurang.

Abstract

Boarding schools combine the residences of students in school institutions away from home and family, religiously taught and taught several subjects according to the educational curriculum. This article aims to de-describe the discussion about the quantity and quality of Dayak students living in dormitories today, find the factors that cause the lack of interest of children to live in dormitories, and the Involvement of the Catholic Church in revitalizing dormitories in developing education for dayak tribes in the Border Region of the Diocese of Sanggau. The method used is qualitative with data sources of dormitory managers, dormitory children sons / daughters and children who do not live in dormitories. Data obtained from observations, interviews, and documentaries. Data is analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study found that the quality and quantity of children who want to live in dormitories is greatly reduced. This is because Catholic schools that have dormitory facilities compete more closely with other educational foundations, lack of guaranteed school and dormitory facilities, weak dormitory discipline, the number of housing offers (boarding schools) or affordable parents/relatives from the school location, catholic school fees that have dormitory facilities are relatively expensive, and the character of students who do not like to be bound by rules that are considered burdensome.

Abstract

Realizing the educational ideals of prospective Catholic religious teachers in Indonesia in the industrial era 4.0 leads to an epistemological model for implementing digitalization-based education. Digital transformation is a form of technological development that affects all aspects of human life and shapes the characteristics of today's generation. Changes in the world of technology have caused the educational world of prospective Catholic teachers to adapt in terms of models, strategies, methods, place and time in managing the educational process. Therefore, digital transformation literacy is the driving force that changes the face of the education model for Catholic teacher candidates in the 4.0 era. A systematic literature review is a way to examine the problems of Quo Vadis' education model for Catholic teacher candidates in the industrial era 4.0. De facto educational institutions for prospective Catholic teachers must be technology literate in educating generation 4.0 students. The education of this generation is inseparable from the influence of the development of the world of technology in educating prospective Catholic teachers to face educational challenges. Catholic religious education is challenged to change the way of teaching and learning in preparing prospective digital generations of Catholic teachers. Creative and innovative, the educational model for prospective Catholic teachers is directed at building an atmosphere of freedom of learning that utilizes digital media as an epistemological attitude of repentance and self-change to be able to carry out a learning process that cannot be separated from the digital world.
