Abstract

Long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) has wide area deployment. They are social animals that interact each other. The purpose of this study was to determine the long-tailed monkey daily activities (Macaca fascicularis) that live around the base camp on the Tinjil Island  Banten . The method used for observation of daily activities using scan sampling. Most done activity from this research is foraging. The percentage of daily activity are  fo: 43.45% foraging; move 22.96%; silent 12.59%; Grooming 10%; playing 5.92%; agonistic 3.70%; sleep 1.38%. Keywords: Macaca fascicularis, long-tailed monkeys, behavior, scan sampling

Abstract

This studyis aimed at designing a model to reduce allergen inhalant level onhouse dust based on domestic environment management and characteristics in urban community. In this descriptive analytic study, houses whose occupants were infected by atopic respiratory diseases in Malang Regency were treated as the population. Using cluster random sampling, 40 houses from six urban districts were taken as the sample. Two types of variables were covered in this study; they were latent variables and latent sub-variables. The former consisted of eight domestic environment variables: education-economy, house dust management skill, house infrastructure, occupant characteristics, physical environment, chemical dust environment, biotic environment, and house dust allergen inhalant sources. Meanwhile, the latter covered all the variables treated as indicators in every latent variable.  This model of allergen inhalant reduction level is a structural model designed through multidimensional relationships among eight latent variables that have been theoretically and empirically developed. The relationship model between every latent variable and its indicator(s) was reflectively arranged. The structural model was analyzed using SmartPLS, a varian-based Structural Equational Modeling (SEM) approach. The procedures of the analysis were adapted from Wiyono’s (2011) and Jogiyanto’s (2009). The findings revealed that a significant structural model was achieved when the multidimensional relationships among the eight latent variables were directly and indirectly arranged. This significant structural model of allergen inhalant reduction level illustrated three hierarchical relationship levels. At the first level, the house dust allergen inhalant sources variable was only directly influencedby the biotic environment. The second level was maintained when the biotic environment variable was directly influenced by the physical and chemical environments, while the other four latent variables were indirectly influenced. At the third level, the house dust chemical variable was directly influenced by the house infrastructure and occupant characteristics, while the house dust management skill and education-economy variables were indirectly influenced. Keywords: house dust, allergen inhalant, urban community

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 which has is aimed to prepare Indonesian to have life skills as an individual as well as citizen who is religious, productive, creative, innovative  effective, and  capable to contribute to the lives of civilizations, the life of community, nation and world wide civilization has been implemented since Academic Year 2013/2014. The implementation of Curriculum 2013 for Junior High School can be supported by implementing Problem Based Learning Model in order to enable students solve the problems scientifically. Prior reflection to the students learning process of Grade VII H SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta second semester Academic Year 2013/2014 showed the lack of their concern to the environment as the manifestation of second Core Competence and the low knowledge level which is the third Core Competence. This study implementing Curriculum 2013 with Problem Based Learning Model to improve environment science care attitude and student learning achievement. The result of the study shows that all of  Core Competence improved in every cycle. The percentage of  the improve environment care attitude of student is  59,375% to 71,875% in the first cycle and  improved to 87,5% in second cycle. While the student learning achievement in pre cycle is only 68,75% students who have passed 3,00 or more than 75, improved to 78,125% in first cycle and reached 100% in second cycle. Abstract

Swamp buffalo is the most high-value animal in North Toraja Regency culture, in addition to being a work animal and transaction tools are also used as offerings in the ceremony signs solo' and signs tuka' North Toraja society. The purpose of this study was to describe the variation of the District Rantepao buffalo genotypes and North Toraja Regency Tikala using microsatellite developed as a multimedia course Analysis Techniques for Molecular Biology at the State University of Malang.Stages in this study include descriptive exploratory research phase and the development phase of multimedia for learning media. Observations of genetic variation patterns do start stage followed by DNA isolation using agarose gel electrophoresis was performed after PCR using HEL 09 and INRA 032 was followed by gel electrophoresis polyacrilamid. Electrophoresis obtained from the gel bands were then analyzed using the results of research genepop.Analysis of interactive multimedia development using media expert validation of a questionnaire shows the effectiveness of 91.67%, 87.50% the attractiveness, interactivity efficiency 100% and 91.67% with qualifying very well. For validation of learning materials experts show presentation purposes 95%, 89.29% material, the effectiveness of 83.33 and 93.75% interactivity with excellent qualifications. Analysis of a small group test with a sample of 12 people was 80.60% with good qualifications. Interactive media that had been developed can be used by lecturers and students biology education courses to better understand the basic principles and appropriate procedures in the course of TABM. Keywords: buffalo, interactive multimedia, genetic variation

Abstract

Rice brand of tempeh is one way of food fortification based fermented soy beans , which had been added with rice bran. Dependence on imported soybean production impact to high cost of raw materials and product. The concept of food fortification is used for the characterization of foods biosuplemen health improvement as a functional food . Therefore efforts should be done to substitute the yellow soybean seeds using other raw materials that are safe, nutritious and economical as was as rice bran and Chito - oligosaccharides ( COS ) . One form is a novelty that can be developed as biosuplemen prebiotic prebiotic natural healthy and highly nutritious . Krajan is one of the industrial centers tofu located in Kalurahan Mojosongo , District Jebres , Surakarta, Central Java Province . In this area there are more than 100 entrepreneurs tofu every day on average to process 250 kg of soybeans into tempeh . The UKM partners that will be used for this program are named UKM " Dele Mas " and UKM " Moelyo Santoso ". The purpose of the activities is to apply the COS and rice bran as a preservative and a natural prebiotic in the production of soybean bran on the partners to become a comprehensive program of activities and sustainable . Keywords: Community service program, rice bran, chitosan, tempeh

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitan ini adalah (1) untuk mengidentifikasi jenis- jenis makrofauna tanah yang terdapat di zona pasif TPA Klotok. (2) Mengetahui makrofauna tanah yang dominan di zona pasif TPA Klotok. (3) Mengetahui indeks keanekaragaman makrofauna tanah di zona pasif TPA Klotok Kota Kediri. Penelitian dilakukan di zona pasif TPA Klotok, Kecamatan Mojoroto, Kota Kediri selama bulan Maret – Agustus 2013. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara membuat transek sepanjang 30m kemudian dilanjutkan dengan membuat plot- plot dengan ukuran 1x1 m sebanyak 10 plot. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara manual dengan metode handsorting. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan : (1) Makrofauna tanah yang ditemukan di zona pasif TPA Klotok Kota Kediri terdiri dari 13 jenis. 1 jenis makrofauna tanah dari filum Annelida dan 12 jenis dari filum Arthropoda. Jenis  dari filum Annelida adalah Peryonix sp. Jenis dari filum Arthropoda terdiri dari Coreus sp., Ommatoiulus sp., Oxidus sp., Euborellia sp., Paederus litorallis, Stachyonemus sp., Araniella displicata dan 2 jenis dari family Formicidae.(2) Spesies yang paling dominan adalah Oxidus sp. dengan INP 28,05. (3) Indeks keanekaragaman makrofauna tanah di zona pasif TPA Klotok Kota Kediri adalah 1,9939 (dalam kategori sedang). Kata kunci: identifikasi, makrofauna tanah, zona pasif

Abstract

Abstract - Merbau(Intsia bijuga(Colebr.) O.Kuntze) is one of the most valuable wooden tree in Indonesia because of the high price and the international highly demanding on it continue to rise up every year.On the other hand,due to an excessive exploitation and unsuccesful reforestation programs resulted on a status of a vulnerable species of the tree. The seedling production of the species using traditional technique is still limited to overcome the problems because of the low number of the seed production every year. One of the most posible approch for mass rapid plantlets production of merbau is using shoot tip culture. However, the protocol of merbau shoot tip culture is still not well developed since the success rate of shoot induction remains low (less than 15 %), no multiplication, root induction and acclimatisation step are aplicable. Our results indicate that DKW medium(Driver and Kuniyuki, 1984) suplemented with 10-6 MNAA and 10-6 MBA Pinduce shoots formation fromaxillary budex plant with a success rate up to 80%. The number of shoots produced from each explant was two shoots with six internodes and quite tall (4,5 cm). The multiplication can be done by the sub-culture the axilary buds into fresh medium every four weeks. The next step will be induction and acclimatisation of the plant podused by shoot tip culture. Keywords:merbau, shoots-tip culture, multiplication

Abstract

Objectives of research are to know increasing of professional, pedagogic, personality, and social competencies biology teacher by planning, implementing, and evaluating of learning process. Sample of research that involved in house training (IHT) is biology teacher and student at five Junior High Schools in Bangka Province. The research used Method of evaluation training program “Kirpatrick Model” that consists of four stages such as (1) Reaction, (2) Learning, (3) Behavior, and (4) Result. Findings of research are (1) teachers were satisfied toward IHT implementation; (2) IHT program could not enhance cognitive both teacher and student;  (3) there was no change regarding of teacher attitude change such as late in coming to teach and teacher did not do classroom action research and lesson study. The IHT had not enhanced professional teacher competencies especially promoting knowledge, doing research, writing academic manuscript, and developing of professional; and (4) There was no significant effect toward performance of participant IHT. The research concluded that IHT program was not success in increasing; teacher knowledge that related their subjects, teacher ability in research, teacher ability in writing, and teacher professional development. Abstract

Abstrak - Minuman kopi merupakan minuman favorit baik masyarakat Indonesia maupun Dunia, namun tingginya kafein yang terkandung, sangat berbahaya bagi orang penderita kolesterol, maka salah satu solusi dengan minuman kopi non kafein dari Petai cina, yang berpotensi untuk diolah sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan minuman kopi non kafein. Aroma yang kurang sedap dari petai cina, maka ditambah dengan jahe dan ketan hitam, yang selanjutnya disebut minuman kopi non kafein “jaketam”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui daya terima panelis terhadap minuman kopi non kafein jaketam dari bahan dasar petai cina dengan penambahan ketan hitam dan jahe sebagai aroma, (2) mengetahui konsentrasi optimal petai cina untuk minuman kopi non kafein jaketam yang paling disukai oleh panelis (3) mengetahui perbedaan kualitas kopi non kafein jaketam antar perlakuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 1 faktor, yaitu konsentrasi petai cina menggunakan lima perlakuan (0, 2, 4, 6 dan 8 g) dengan penambahan campuran ketan hitam dan jahe (1:1) sebanyak 2 g. Selanjutnya Data dianalisis menggunakan one way anava. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi optimal petai cina untuk minuman kopi non kafein yang paling disukai oleh panelis dengan daya terima tertinggi 88%. Konsentrasi optimal yang paling disukai dengai petai cina sebanyak 2 g dengan penambahan Jaketam 1:1. Dan kualitas  minuman non kafein produk terpilih untuk rasa 3,56 (sangat enak); aroma 3,32 (sedap); warna 2,8 (hitam) dan tekstur 4,0 (halus). Simpulan, bahwa minuman kopi non kafein dari bahan dasar petai cina dapat diterima, dan dapat untuk peningkatan kesehatan. Kata kunci :kopi non kafein, petai cina, ketan hitam, jahe
