Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the analysis of students 'problem-solving abilities with Field Dependent and Field Independent cognitive styles in solving students' mathematical problems. The location of this research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Ambarawa. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The determination of research subjects was based on the results of the GEFT test developed by Witkin (1973). The data was collected by means of tests and interviews, qualitative data analysis was carried out with the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage, and the conclusion / verification stage. The results of this study indicate that the students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a field dependent cognitive style are good at understanding the problem and checking again, in the sufficient category at the problem planning stage, and in the poor category at the stage of implementing the completion plan. And the students' mathematical problem solving abilities with a field independent cognitive style were categorized as good at the stage of understanding the problem, planning for completion, carrying out solutions, and in the sufficient category at the stage of re-checking.

Abstract

The Curriculum 2013 will soon be implemented in all education units in the 2016/2017 school year, after going through a fairly tough process in the 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 academic years so that it is only applied in a limited manner to a few educational units. Technical matters in the curriculum are indeed important for the successful implementation of education. However, there is one thing that should not be forgotten, namely how the teacher's creative process is in finding the best learning practices based on the experiences and practices that he has applied when teaching. The various ways and methods that have been applied by the teacher in teaching have made the teacher find new methods which are a Best Practice in teaching. The formulation of best practices in the context of implementing the Curriculum 2013 is carried out through various approaches, namely: 1) Building a learning culture in schools. 2) Using a scientific approach with various types of active learning activities. 3) Relying on the skills of teachers in carrying out active learning in schools. 4) Changing aspects of attitudes, interest in learning, thinking skills, and ways of mastering learning concepts according to the best practice matrix in the context of implementing the 2013 Curriculum that has been formulated in this paper. The steps to get best practice can be done by following the steps as follows: 1) Observing the situation; 2) Motivation; 3) Measurement of results and impacts; 4) Sustainable; 5) Experience that needs to be learned (lessons learned) and (action plan); 6) Potential for development; and 7) Comparative Study.

Abstract

The aim to be achieved in this study is to determine the level of problem-solving ability possessed by VII grade students on rectangular and triangular material in MTs Negeri 2 Magelang 2019/2020 academic year based on Polya's steps in solving problems. This type of research is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling, namely 4 students of class VII H and 3 students of VII I of MTs Negeri 2 Magelang in the academic year 2019/2020. Data sources from primary sources and secondary sources. Data collection procedures using interviews, documentation and tests (giving mathematical problem solving questions). Data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Checking the validity of the data uses the theory triangulation technique. The results showed that the level of problem solving skills in grade VII students was very good, evidenced by students being able to solve problems with the four steps of problem solving Polya, a) understanding the problem, b) compiling a plan for solving, c) carrying out the plan, and d) checking back. The fourth level is the highest level of problem solving ability from the existing level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of learning independence and interest in learning in class VIII students of SMP N 2 Banyubiru in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out using several methods, including questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by first focusing on important data. Then it is presented in a descriptive-analytic text, and conclusions are drawn by describing it descriptively. The results of this study indicate that: The mathematical reasoning abilities of students with a high level of learning independence and a high interest in learning indicate that they have been able to meet the four mathematical reasoning indicators totaling 2 students. The mathematical reasoning abilities of students with a level of learning independence and moderate interest in learning indicate that they are able to meet the indicators of mathematical reasoning, but there is one indicator that is not fulfilled, amounting to 5 students. Students' mathematical reasoning abilities with a low level of learning independence and interest in learning were unable to meet the mathematical reasoning indicators, amounting to 3 students. Factors that affect mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of learning independence and interest in learning are the level of intelligence, interest and willingness in learning mathematics as well as environmental conditions around students which are still less supportive of students' thinking abilities and thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between interest in learning mathematics and mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Dharma Lestari in the 2019/2020 academic year. This correlational study, the population uses all students of grade VII SMP Dharma Lestari as many as 208 students. Probability sampling was used in a population of 40 students. The research instrument in the validity and reliability test was used in data collection, including questionnaires and interview sheets to measure interest in learning mathematics and documentation to measure mathematics learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used Product moment after using the prerequisite for normality and linearity tests, the data were processed using SPSS version 20.0. The results showed that: (1) the seventh grade students' interest in learning mathematics at SMP Dharma Lestari was in the medium category at 70%, (2) the mathematics learning outcomes in the moderate category were 70%, (3) there was a significant and significant relationship between the interest in learning mathematics with VII grade mathematics learning outcomes of SMP Dharma Lestari. Through the results of the Product moment analysis that has been carried out using the SPSS version 20.0 computer program, the r_ (count) value is greater than r_ (table) (0.355> 0.312).
