Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of GeoGebra media in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts in dimension 3 material. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The research design used is a type of nonequivalent control group design. This research took place at the Abhariyah Islamic High School, West Lombok. The population in this study were students of class X high school. The sample of researchers took all the students of class X sma with a total of 30 students, of which 15 students were used as experimental classes and 15 students in the control class. The instrument used in this study is a test. Hypothesis tests were carried out using an independent samples t test. The results showed that the use of GeoGebra media can help students in understanding mathematical concepts (effectively). With the calculation results obtained are as follows: the average Post-Test of the experiment and control classes is 13.6 and 12.4. With a significant degree of α = 5% = 0.05, db = n – 2 = 30 – 2 = 28. So that t_tabel=t_((0,025;28) )=2,048 with t_hitung=2,738. Post-Test experiment and control classes show that t_hitung>t_tabel then H_0 rejected. So, it can be concluded that post-test experimentation and control have differences. Based on the calculation results of the N-Gain Score test, it shows that the average value of the N-Gain Score for the experimental class is 72.7944 or 73% belonging to the category of quite effective. With a minimum N-Gain Score of 58.14% and a maximum of 88%. And it can be concluded that this means the effective use of GeoGebra media in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts in dimension 3 material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is a qualitative research with the type of case study research that analyzes the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were mathematics teachers in grades VII, VIII and IX at SMPN 5 Sekotong. The instruments used in this study were interview guidelines and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning can be seen from the activities of each teacher during the process of designing the lesson. Where there are certain things that at the time of designing (designing) learning during this pandemic, the teacher made slight modifications, namely in determining competency achievement indicators (GPA) that did not burden students, the teacher emphasized more on student character building, including building student motivation to studying in school. The time allocation is also shortened because students who enter the school are divided into several sessions, so that students can keep their distance while studying in class and not cause crowds in the school environment. The teacher chooses to use the discussion and question and answer method where the discussion and question and answer method is carried out online using the WA Group. This is a solution for students to stay active in learning and comply with Health protocols.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a quantitative approach. This research took place at MTsN 2 West Sumbawa. The population in this study were students of class VII MTS. The research sample was 32 students, of which 16 students were used as participants in the experimental class and 16 students as participants in the control class. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. The results showed that there was an effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. With a significant level of a = 0.05; obtained ttable = 2.042 and tcount = 3,672. It is concluded that tcount > ttable then Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the open-ended learning approach on mathematical communication skills between students who are taught using an open-ended approach compared to the conventional approach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the traditional snacks of the Sakra community, the mathematical objects contained in the traditional snacks of the Sakra people, and the mathematical activities contained in the process of making and selling traditional snacks of the Sakra people. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic type of approach. This research was conducted in Sakra District, East Lombok Regency, NTB, especially in the area of ​​Sakra traditional snack traders. Based on the results of the analysis of the discussion in this study, it can be concluded that temerodok and jaje kaok are traditional snacks from Sakra village. These two snacks have an important role in the customs of the Sakra community and also in helping the economy of the Sakra village community. The results of the identification of the traditional forms of the Sakra people's snacks (temerodok and jaje kaok) can be concluded that there are mathematical objects in these two snacks, namely crescent moons, ellipses, parabolic curves, and rectangles and blocks. And based on the results of the analysis of the Sakra community's activities in making traditional snacks, forms/patterns of snacks and in the process of selling traditional snacks, it can be concluded that there are mathematical activities in the two traditional snacks, namely counting activities, measuring activities, designing activities, and explaining activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang bisa matematika formal belum tentu bisa matematika non-formal yang ada di tengah masyarakat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika di sekolah belum sepenuhnya melibatkan hal-hal yang ada di sekitar siswa dan lebih cenderung kepada bagaimana siswa menjawab soal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan cara perajin gerabah dalam mengkonstruksi bangun ruang sisi lengkung dan mengungkap konsep-konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang terdapat pada pembuatan gerabah di Desa Banyumulek. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang perajin gerabah yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu yaitu subjek merupakan praktisi atau ahli dalam pembuatan gerabah. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cara perajin gerabah dalam mengkonstruksi bangun ruang sisi lengkung pada pembuatan gerabah adalah terdiri dari 4 proses yaitu, membuat tombong (alas), bebentet (sisi lengkung), belong (leher atau lengkung penghubung) dan membuat biwir (mulut atau tutup) gerabah. Serta terdapat konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung pada pembuatan gerabah di Desa Banyumulek yaitu konsep parsial tabung, kerucut, bola, dan konsep utuh tabung.
