Abstract

This inventory needs to be carried out to determine the types of macroscopic fungi that are found in the Peat Swamp Habitat of the Cabang Panti Gunung Palung National Park. Taking mushroom samples using the Purposive sampling method and roaming method by tracing the path. Identification is carried out based on macroscopic characters. Based on the results of the inventory at the Cabang Panti of Gunung Palung National Park, there were 3 macroscopic fungi from the Order of Agaricales, Auriculariales and Polyporales which which has three species including Auricularia auricula, auricularia delicata, Lichenomphalia sp. and Microporus xanthopus.

Abstract

Ocimum basilicum is one type of vegetables that can be consumed without having to be processed. Food consumed must have high nutritional value, clean and free of microbes. Coliform is one of the bacteria that can cause disease in humans. This study aims to determine the value of MPN on samples Ocimum basilicum leaves from warung lamongan in Pontianak and determine the existence of coliform bacteria on Ocimum basilicum leaf samples from warung lamongan in Pontianak. Detection of coliform bacteria using the MPN method. Detection of E. coli was carried out using EMBA media. The results showed that all samples had interval values between 210 MPN/g to > 1100 MPN/g. It showed that all samples excced the threshold determined by BPOM (2016), which was the maximum limit of coliform bacteria contamination in ready-toconsume vegetables was < 3 APM/g. The results of the identification of the bacterial genus coliform grouphad the members of genera Escherichia and Citrobacter

Abstract

Mycorrhizal fungi are fungi that are associated with higher levels of plants and are very important in plant growth. Mycorrhizal fungi can be found most of the land, one of which is in the mangrove forest. This study was conducted to determine the type of fungus and the percentage of infections in plant roots and fungal density of VAM found in the Mangrove Forest area at Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. This research was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Analysis of soil chemical content was carried out in the Laboratory of Chemical and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University. Isolation of spores was carried out by wet filter method and continued with centrifugation. The results indicated that the spores found consisted of 3 genera were Glomus, Gigaspora and Paraglomus. The percentage of root infections by mycorrhizal fungi was classified as low at 10.65%, and density of VAM fungus spores in Parit Tanjung as many 13 spores, Kasim as many 10 spores, Sungai Burung as many 59 spores and Tanjung as many 33 spores.

Abstract

Jelantah is the residual waste of cooking oil. The disposal of untreated waste directly into the environment has the potential to promote damage such as water channels clogging and water body pollution. Form of waste treatment such as biodegradation can be done using potential bacteria such as Pseudomonas spp. which has been known for being effectively in decomposing organic waste. This study aimed to observe the ability of Pseudomonas sp. BOT4 in degrading jelantah with different nitrogen sources i.e. NaNO3 and yeast extract. This study was carried out from August to October 2018. The used cooking oil samples were homemade with deep frying method and the isolate samples were collected from used cooking oil-contaminated sewer water. Split plot design was used with time of incubation as main plots and nitrogen sources as subplots. The parameters observed were cell density and degraded oil weight. The results obtained stated that nitrogen sources of NaNO3 and yeast extract given optimum effect on cell density of Pseudomonas sp. BOT4 on day three each with OD600 value of 1,361 and 2,300. Nevertheless both nitrogen sources did not really give real effect on final weight of degraded oil, each with weight of 1,28 g dan 1,09 g.

Abstract

The existence of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera (EPT) macroinvertebrates in water can be used as the indicators to identify the water quality. This study aims to determine the diversity of Macroinvertebrates and physical and chemical factors in water of the Mentuka River. Macroinvertebrate sampling was carried out in February 2018 using random with surber and dip net at three stations spread overthe upstream, middle and downstream of the Mentuka River. The measurements chemicals and physical factors such as water temperature, brightness, current velocity, depth, TDS, TSS, acidity (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO) and free carbon dioxide (CO2), which is carried out together with macroinvertebrates sampling. There are 378 macroinvertebrates individuals belonging to nine genera, namely Polypedilum, Hydropsyche, Anthopotamus, Baetis, Acroneuria, Libellula, Rhyacophila, Parathelphusa and Macrobrachium in Mentuka River. The Ephemeroptera, Baetis is the most abundance with 5.76 ind/m2. Based on the diversity index, the Mentuka was categorized as moderately polluted river.

Abstract

Ficus is key species that commonly lives in tropical region because of its ability to bear fruit year around, thus so many kind of Ficus that become source of food and habitat to animals. The aim of the research to determine the density and distribution pattern of Ficus spp. at Research Station of Gunung Palung National Park in May until June 2018. The observation of Ficus spp. is done by random sampling method on five different locations, there are lowland granite, warmth, sands stone, freshwater swamp and alluvial land. The result showed that there are 4 species of Ficus with density ranges 16-60 individuals/ha and the distributions patterns are uniform and grouped.

Abstract

The Dayaknese people of Bakati in Tirta Kencana Village at Bengkayang District of Bengkayang Regency have a Tembawang forest that planted with edibel forest fruits. This study aims to determine the types of edible fruits that have been consumed by residents of Tirta Kencana Village at Bengkayang District of Bengkayang Regency. This research has been carried out for two months from April 2019 to May 2019. This research was used a survey and interview methods. Edibel fruit found in the Tembawang forest that consists of 21 which belong to 14 families. The part of the fruit that is eaten in the flesh of the seed coat. The use of edible fruit by the local population is still relatively simple, which is either eaten directly, cooked, processed by fermentation, processed into candied snacks and cooking spices.

Abstract

The use of polyoethylene degradable polyethylene in Indonesia, especially in West Kalimantan, is high enough to potentially cause environmental pollution. One way to resolve pollution caused by polyethylene oxo-degradable plastic waste is to utilize isolates from the peat soil around the Kuala Dua Final Disposal Site, Rasau Jaya, which is able to degrade oxo-degradable polyethylene. This research aims to determine the bacterial genera that can to be expected to degrade Oxo-Degradable Polyethylene. Samples were taken from peat soil with the incubation method of oxo-degradable polyethylene for 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 6 weeks. Isolation use the pour plate method with Enrichment Broth Media and Enrichment Agar Media. The isolation results obtained 9 (nine) bacterial isolates which are distinguished based on incubation time and morphological characters.
