Abstract

Laws are regulations made by the government. The rule of law is a state that enforces justice that deviates from the rules of a country. Human rights (HAM) can be interpreted as basic rights in humans. Human rights have been given since we were born, so no one has the right to rob human rights, whoever it is. The rule of law is enforced so that people can obey the rules of a country, one of which is to protect one's human rights. The rule of law with human rights is very attached. Because one indication to be called a state of law, among others, the enforcement of human rights, because a state of law without respecting and respecting the principles of human rights cannot be called a state of law

Abstract

Abstract

The research aims to find the difficulties and problem in speaking English which are mostly faced by Junior High School students. This research used qualitative research method. This research instrument is observation, explaining and applying Presentation Production Method (PPP) method. Based on the results, it was found some speaking difficulties, they are : (1) Difficulty in listening and speaking, (2) Lack of vocabulary, (3) Hard to focus, (4) Inhibition (Lack of confident, worried about making mistakes, fearful, or shy of the attention that they speech attract), (5) Nothing to say (Cannot think of anything to say, or they have no idea to express themselves), (6) Low participation. Speaking is a means of communication which affects our daily lives. In relationship, communication allows you to explain to someone what you are going through and what your needs are.

Abstract

This research aims to improve listening ability students of English subjects using the dictation method and find the effectiveness of the dictation method in an effort to improve ability listening to students on descriptive text of class X IA 1 students of SMK HKBP PEMATANGSIANTAR. This research is a classroom action research conducted in the first semester of the year 2021/2022 teaching. The subjects of this research were students of class X IA 1 SMK HKBP PEMATANGSIANTAR. The object of this research is the improvement of listening ability English lessons on descriptive text with the dictation method. Classroom action research it covers 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The findings from classroom action research are (1) Students' listening ability increase with the use of the dictation method, (2) The average score of students in the pre-cycle action is 56.84% including the "less" category, the average student score in cycle 1 is 70.47% including the "enough" category, the average student score in cycle 2 is 78.43% including the "good" category. (3) Attainment of listening competence skill is measured by the dictation method which shows an increase in the results of research from pre-cycle to cycle II.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of note taking strategies on listening skills (listening). The research method used in this study is a True research method Experimental Design whose implementation uses the Posttest-Only Control Design type compares the experimental class with the control class. At SMK N 1 PEMATANGSIANTAR, the population of all students in class XI Program Mechanical Engineering Expertise. Samples were taken as many as 52 with a random class technique sampling. The instruments used are MGMP questions and UN questions (Listening). From data processing the results obtained: there are differences in listening learning achievement between before and after using note-taking strategy.

Abstract

Reading is one of the four language skills taught in the process of learning English, along with listening, speaking, and writing. Reading is the ability to comprehend the content of a text. Reading can provide readers with all of the messages and information they require. The purpose of this study is to learn about the students’ reading problems at SMA Kartika 1-4 Pematangsiantar as well as to find a solution to the problems. Descriptive qualitative research was performed in this study. The participants in the study were tenth-grade of MIPA 3 students from SMA Kartika Pematangsiantar, who were found to have reading difficulties. The result of this research found that the students’ problem in reading as follow : internal problems (lack of student vocabulary, a lack of student interest in English subjects, boredom and laziness, and a lack of time to study any English text in class.) And external problems (such as the teacher’s method of instruction, students’ lack of personal dictionaries, the narrative text’s level of difficulty and the lack of textbooks). As a solution, the teacher must play an important role in overcoming the problems faced by students by making teaching techniques more interesting and interactive.

Abstract

This research was made to find out the influence of power point presentation in improving students’ reading skill. Beside that, this research has aim to find out the factors that influences the students’ reading skills improvement of narrative text. The researchers used classroom action research as the method of this research. The researchers also used test as an instrument by reading text in the power point presentation. From the result of the research, it shows that the students’ scores in reading text increasing. There is a major that influenced their improvement, which is the choice of material. The material should be new and relevant with the students’ imagination. Thus, they became interested in reading the text from the power point presentation.

Abstract

Social media has now become an inseparable part of the daily life of millennials in the digital era. One of the social media that is widely used by millennials is Facebook, which currently has more than 2 billion active users. This places Facebook as one of the foundations of social media that is widely used by social media users. For some people, having a large network of users is the same as money and marketing opportunities, therefore a strategy is needed to use the Facebook platform as a digital marketing tool in an online marketplace that is now increasingly develop. This article aims to find out the use of the Facebook market place as a digital marketing tool and how to use the right marketing strategy on Facebook marketplaces. This descriptive research uses the library method. Based on the findings, Facebook's social media can be said to have complete features because users can communicate with other people, share videos, create a group or association, create a schedule together, and so on. Besides, as a digital marketing tool through the Facebook marketplace, it is now widely used by users for buying and selling activities. Facebook marketplace as a digital marketing tool can be done through several strategies such as advertising, sales promotion, publication of individual sales, and product promotion through the use of visually attractive packaging.

Abstract

Language is a means of communication among individuals. Along with the development of social media, aspects of communication using language are increasingly diverse. This diversity appears according to general agreement in community communication patterns. The tendency to produce new terms is very possible where communities have diverse backgrounds, both educational, economic, family and so on, as factors that produce new languages. This study uses a qualitative approach that presents research on the use of language in social media. The finding shows that new media and adolescence are both seen as something that is taking shape. The instability of these two things has a tendency to be mutually beneficial or even detrimental on the one hand. Early awareness of the characteristics of the new digital ethical world media in relation to adolescent users is expected to reduce the negative excesses of the impact it causes. Hence, literacy and ethics towards new media are the keys for teenagers to be able to enrich their identities and maintain their privacy.

Abstract

The current Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on life today. One of them is the development of digital media which is changing very rapidly, all activities of people's lives that are transformed into all digital, of course, also have an impact on the style of communication between humans. This study aims to explain the ethics of communicating in today's digital era. One of them is the existence of social media. Due to the ease of using social media on digital media, users are often negligent in using communication etiquette. This research uses qualitative and descriptive research methods. From the results of the study, information was obtained that ethics and politeness norms are very necessary in communicating, especially in digital media. Communication ethics can be explored through a good understanding of grammar, early education about manners, learning to understand and limiting curiosity about the privacy of others.
