Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the potential and challenges for the private sector to lead the process of warung digitalization to improve their business. MSMEs such as warung in Indonesia have been a tool for income generation for many people. Though the number of warungs that have leveled up is still minimum—most of their business are stagnant. This has resulted in their constant welfare situation. The approach used in this study is qualitative with the literature review method. This study finds that there is potential for the private sector to be the trailblazer in the digitalization process because of their characteristics and traits, the other actors’ situation, and the profit to be gained. Though, there are some challenges to be addressed, such as the lack of supporting infrastructure, minimal regulatory framework, and the need to train the warung owner.

Abstract

According to projections made by internationally renowned consultants and the IMF, India will be one of the world's fastest-growing economies by 2025. It has been ranked as the third-largest emerging market hub and the third-largest global startup ecosystem. Million people empowerment is inevitably a process of teaching values to educate the student to live a life that is personal and congruent with the valued values and standards of society. On 30th May 2019, Shri Narendra Modi became Prime Minister of India and marked the beginning of his second term in office. Shri Modi, the first Premier born after independence, served in India formerly between 2014 and 2019. He has also distinguished himself as the longest-serving Chief Minister of Gujarat from October 2001 to May 2014. In her motto, Sitka Modi has introduced a change in governance leading to an integrated, development-focused, and corruption-free government, based on the slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.' New hopes developed for citizens in India in the 2014 general election following a period of instability, corruption, and fraud under the leadership of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA). After one decade of gaps, the National Democrat Alliance (NDA) II administration led by Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised many expectations of middle-class ordinary Indian people to an elite. The governance study of the present government is quite significant in this perspective. Therefore, this paper analyzes PM Modi s vision for empowering India and the track record of PM Modi's pledges to understand the cause for the new empowerment for India. Here the research is based on data from prior studies. The study finds that development is a process fueled by resources, and what must do much more to ensure that these resources can equitably meet current needs while remaining available for future generations' development needs.

Abstract

The mandate to eradicate poverty is part of the mission of the presence of Islam as a religion of rahmatan lil 'alamin. Poverty alleviation is one of the main aspects of development, as stated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study aims to determine two things: (1) What is the poverty alleviation strategy based on family empowerment in Indonesia?; (2) What is the perspective of Islamic law on poverty alleviation strategies through family empowerment? Poverty alleviation policies in Indonesia are operationalized in various forms of activity, including targeting family empowerment programs. This study uses a literature review method. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the poverty alleviation strategy through family empowerment was in three main policy groups, namely the social assistance and protection-based policy group, the participatory empowerment-based policy group, and the micro and small business empowerment-based policy group. Both strategies are in line with Islamic teachings, which contain poverty alleviation.

Abstract

Da'wah should have an orientation from mere rhetoric to action, and it needs to be carried out not only in the fields of theology and Islamic education (Islamic education) but must also be realized in the form of empowerment that leads to the welfare of the people. This effort is what the Muslim community of Kayupuring Petungkriyono Pekalongan Village did by establishing the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) and collaborating with Perhutani to explore the potential of the forest in their area. Welo Asri Tourism Object was eventually established in the Welo river basin as a tangible manifestation of realizing their empowerment and welfare without neglecting to preserve the Petungkriyono forest. Using this type of qualitative research, Field Research, this article explores how the Muslim community's management of Welo Asri tourism is carried out by the Muslim community with a conservation-based da'wah spirit. As for the results of this study, which reviewed the three criteria for indicators of the success of Social Forestry, namely Institutional set-up (social), Forest Management (ecological), and Business Development (economics), it can be concluded that the management of Welo Asri Tourism Object can be said to have found optimal results. As an official institution, this tour is managed by LMDH Kayupuring by applying restrictions on accommodation development and management based on ecological principles. In addition, in terms of financial results, Welo Asri Tourism Object can also support 30% of the total 300 heads of families (KK) in Kayupuring Village. This condition proves that the self-help empowerment program and for them is running.

Abstract

Karangasem Utara Urban Village is one of several urban villages located in the coastal area of Batang Regency, and is active in implementing community empowerment programs. In this case, there is community participation, and there are still different perceptions between individuals regarding domination and the division of labor based on gender. Therefore, this study aims to analyze more deeply how the concept of gender equality is in the coastal community empowerment program in Karangasem Utara Urban Village. This study applies a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach that utilizes primary data obtained from interviews and observations and secondary data obtained from the documentation. The results of this study indicate that first, community empowerment programs in Karangasem Utara Urban Village are the “Pelatihan Pemberdayaan” and the “Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB).” Second, women and men have equal rights in access and control of community empowerment programs, namely in the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. Third, there are several factors that cause women’s passive participation in community empowerment programs in Karangasem Utara Urban Village.

Abstract

Since the issuance of Law No. 23 of 2011 concerning Zakat Governance, zakat has become one of the instruments of state development. however, in practice, the process of distributing zakat funds is still dominated by a distribution model that is consumptive and very minimally involves mustahik as the beneficiary of the program in the process. Mustahik is only used as an object in the process of distributing zakat funds, even though community participation is the spirit of community empowerment. As a result, zakat has not been able to solve the problem of poverty and improve the standard of living of mustahik. The process of preparing this paper uses the literature study method and explains that there are two models of community participation in the productive zakat fund distribution program, namely the community participation model based on technical assistance and self-help approaches. These two participation models can be a reference to formulate a program for distributing productive zakat funds so that productive zakat funds can have more impact on mustahik.

Abstract

Someone who ages without mental preparation often experiences a decrease in quality of life. At an advanced stage, there are many psychosocial crises experienced by the elderly. The feeling of basic trust that develops in the elderly is more dominated by dystonic or “desperate” traits. Not all elderly people have efficacy or beliefs about good self-acceptance of deficiencies and changes that occur to them. The purpose of this research is to photograph a different reality, namely how the elderly are able to maintain their learning motivation through strengthening self-efficacy and what factors influence the level of self-efficacy of the elderly congregation. The method used in this research is qualitative method. This research is a field research with descriptive-analytic analysis. Based on data and analysis in the field, the results showed that the elderly congregation at the Alif Lam Mim Islamic Boarding School, had good self-efficacy. This can be seen from the enthusiasm and effort they put in even in the midst of deficiencies and disturbances both physically and psychologically. Self-efficacy in the elderly is influenced by things such as past experiences, modeling, self-esteem, and emotional states. This research is expected to be a review, consideration and support for community development and development strategies, especially in empowering the elderly.
