Abstract

Abstrak: Standar kecantikan secara konstan diperbarui dan ditinjau kembali dari waktu ke waktu. Media, melalui media cetak maupun elektronik, memainkan peran penting dalam membangun dan mengkomunikasikan gagasan kecantikan kontemporer. Dalam upaya mereka untuk memberdayakan wanita di berbagai penjuru dunia, Dove memprakarsai eksperimen sosial yang disebut ‘Choose Beautiful’ di mana wanita di lima kota berbeda (San Francisco, London, New Delhi, Shanghai, dan Sao Paulo) diberi pilihan untuk berjalan melalui satu dari dua pintu yang dilabeli ‘cantik’ dan ‘biasa’. Eksperimen ini menempatkan subyek penelitian dalam situasi dilematis untuk memilih di antara kedua label. Kampanye ini merupakan wacana akademik yang menarik karena tidak hanya mempromosikan standar kecantikan baru atau memperkuat standar yang ada seperti yang dilakukan iklan lainnya. Sebaliknya, kampanye ini memicu diskusi yang lebih mendasar tentang konsep kecantikan yang sulit didefinisikan dan implikasinya terhadap perempuan. Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini mengkaji kampanye Choose Beautiful dan dampaknya dalam kerangka lookism dan berbagai teori tentang kecantikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terlepas dari niat yang tampaknya baik, kampanye Choose Beautiful adalah sebuah upaya implisit untuk memasukkan seluruh wanita ke dalam kategori cantik.Kata kunci: Kecantikan, standar kecantikan, Dove, Choose Beautiful, strategi                   pemasaran

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe and analyze the meaning of kalo sara tradition in Tolaki community in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province because kalo sara tradition is one of the local wisdoms for the Tolaki community which is used to resolve conflicts. This research is a qualitative research, and was carried out in Konawe Sub-district, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Source of data consists of primary data and secondary data. To gather information, both in the form of primary data and secondary data, three techniques are used, namely: (1) observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. The results of this study showed that the customary meaning of kalo sara in the Tolaki community in Konawe Sub-district, Konawe Regency are as follows: The meaning of the tradition of kalo sara in the Tolaki community in Konawe Sub-district is as follows: (1) The tools used are still traditional in nature which have been passed down from generation to generation to generation. The tool is a woven and sacred container, so to get the basic ingredients, you have to do it with good and lucky effort and luck. (2) Siwole uwa is a kind of platter woven from palm fronds (or rema) with certain motifs. In Tolaki language it is called I nana (plait) and means the basis of honor. In addition, siwole mbatohu was an expression of regional politics during the leadership of Mokole Tebawo or Sangia Inato in the 17th century. The three ends of the rattan, two of which are hidden in a knot, are closely related to the word wisdom. Meanwhile, the winding of three rattan threads has a meaning as a unit of social stratification of the Tolaki people. (4) O bite (siri leaf) is a vine, but not a parasite or parasite. so it doesn't damage the tree where it's vines. The siri leaf is a symbol of the heart and has been used since ancient times to show spirituality, emotion, morals. (5) I nea (areca nut) for the Tolaki people has a very high value in customs. Inea (areca nut) is a symbol of the lineage of people who have good character, are honest, and have a high degree. and (6) Lopa-lopa niwule is a symbol of acceptance from both parties consisting of lime (o wule) which means white heart and sincerity but sirit has a bad side, that the lime contains a chemical reaction that can destroy anything, assuming human nature when it is in good condition it will look white and clean, but when it is hurt or injured it will have a bad impact.Keywords: Kalo sara, tradition, Tolaki community

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe and analyze the symbolical meaning of equipments in ratibu tradition of Muna Community in Muna Regency because ratibu tradition is a unique tradition carried out by the community of Muna ethnic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained was then analyzed using the following steps: 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) verification. The results of this study showed that the symbolical meaning in the implementation of ratibu ritual in the Muna people community, starting from kalengkano ratibu, poratibu, up to kasongkono ratibu are generally symbols of the human body so that it is arranged in the order of the shape of the human body, namely two combs of ripe plantains which is the symbol of human toes is placed at the bottom of haroa rasul then beside it is placed a lapalapa as a symbol of the human arm, on top of the lapalapa and two combs of ripe plantain arranged plates containing boiled eggs, kasinganga eggs, manu kaowei, manu kasinganga, traditional cakes, and so on which is also a symbol of the human body, and the top of haroa rasul is put white rice mixed with red rice and covered with an omelette as haroa head as the symbol the human head. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the perception of the Bajo people towards the construction of the Kendari -Toronipa tourist road in Bajo Indah and Leppe Village, Konawe Regency. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results showed that the Bajo community has a complex view of the development. Although they see the potential economic benefits offered by the construction of tourist roads, they also have concerns about the possible social, cultural, and environmental impacts. In this context, the adoption of a balanced approach between development and cultural preservation is important. This research provides insight into the dynamics of community views in dealing with local development, as well as underlining the need to involve communities in sustainable development decision-making. This finding has important implications for development planning that takes into account cultural, social, and environmental aspects in coastal areas.
