Abstract

Students are an important aspect for higher education institutions, especially regarding the time of student graduation. Therefore, it is critical to know the prediction of the time length for completing studies. This study proposes creating a prediction system for student graduation rates; hence it could be a preventive measure for students to improve their learning process. This research used machine learning techniques to compare the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Naïve Bayes algorithms. The experiment aimed to determine the best model, such as the amount of data collection, the number of classification classes, and the handling of imbalanced classes. Based on all experiments, the KNN method achieved higher results than the Naïve Bayes method. Applying the SMOTE oversampling technique significantly increased the difference in evaluation scores (precision, recall, F1 score, and accuracy) between 12% and 41% in the Naïve Bayes and KNN methods. The results of the 4-class prediction model using the KNN method with SMOTE get a precision value of 79%, a recall value of 78%, an F1 score of 78%, and an accuracy of 78%. In comparison, the prediction results for eight classes using the KNN method with SMOTE get precision, recall, F1 Score, and accuracy values of 93%.

Abstract

A Blood glucose levels that exceed normal are a sign of diabetes mellitus (DM), a complex and chronic condition that requires ongoing medical care to reduce the risk of complications through glycemic control. In 2015, there are 10 million people in Indonesia who suffer from diabetes. The number of diabetics is increasing every year. The International Diabetes Federation estimates that the number of people in Indonesia who suffer from diabetes will increase to 16.2 million in 2040. To reduce the risk of complications in the future, diabetes must be detected early. One method that can be used to predict diabetes is the ID3 Decision Tree algorithm. The ID3 algorithm is an algorithm used to form a decision tree. From the test results, it produces a fairly large accuracy of 98.08% with a Precision of 96.88% and a Recall of 100%.

Abstract

Office of the Head of Talang Nangka Village, Lembak District, Muara Enim Regency. The method of recording, registering and submitting information from the Talang Nangka Village Non-Governmental Organization still uses a simple method which causes frequent errors and the risk of data loss may occur. The purpose of this study was to build an application using a website to make it easier for Talang Nangka Village to process the administrative processing of this village self-help organization, because it is well computerized and easy to use. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and literature study. The type of data consists of qualitative data and data sources consist of primary and secondary data. The device development method uses a prototype. The system design tools used are use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and class diagrams. This application was built using a website with the PHP programming language and Mysql database, and to print the report using a pdf component

Abstract

The development of information technology has changed the paradigm of archive management, giving rise to the need for digitization and web-based applications. UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, a higher education institution, faces obstacles in manual archive management, such as limited accessibility, risk of losing physical archives, and inefficiency in searching. In light of this, this research aims to develop a web-based application that focuses on records management, with the aim of improving the quality of service to all members of the academic community. This research involves understanding the principles of effective records management, namely records management that is minimal, meaningful, economical, and easy to find. The research also explores the efforts to develop a webbased archive application at UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan as well as the inhibiting and supporting factors in the process. The results of this study are expected to provide guidance for other higher education institutions in adopting information technology to improve efficiency and services to stakeholders.

Abstract

With the advancement of information technology and data analytics, new opportunities arise in decision-making within the field of human resources. The implementation of ensemble methods, such as extremely randomized trees, holds promise in predicting promotion decisions with higher accuracy. Despite numerous studies in this domain, there is a need for a deeper exploration in adapting ensemble methods to the context of employee promotions, considering various factors like skills, experience, and individual achievements. This research aims to develop an effective predictive model for employee promotions by integrating extremely randomized trees with relevant human resources data. The model derived from this study achieved an accuracy rate of 99% on the training data, indicating highly precise predictions. The use of test data confirmed the model's performance with an accuracy score of 98%, illustrating its consistent predictive capabilities. Factors such as avg_training_score, department, total_score, age, and sum_metric were identified as the most influential in shaping the model, providing crucial insights for human resources management.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an affordable, innovative prosthetic leg design using a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) approach. Lower limb loss is a serious problem for many individuals, and prosthetic limbs are becoming a common solution, but the high cost and lack of availability of effective designs are major obstacles. The research method involved a literature study on prosthetic limbs, prosthetic limb modeling, and FEA. In this research, we model the geometry of a prosthetic leg using 360 fusion, apply FEA to understand its mechanical behavior, and optimize the design based on the analysis results. FEA testing shows that the proposed prosthetic leg design is capable of withstanding a load of 1000N with a minimum safety factor of 3.64. The results of this research indicate that the resulting prosthetic leg design can be an effective and affordable solution for individuals in need, with the potential to improve quality of life and mobility.
