Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of problem-based learning models on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The study used an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design and a posttest-only control design. The population was all classes in VIII grade at MTs Negeri 3 Mempawah in the 2019/2020 school year. The samples were students of VIII C and VIII A grades and were drawn using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques and tools were measurements that used a essay test contained indicators of mathematical reasoning abilities. After being tested in the two samples, data analysis was then carried out to test the hypothesis. Before testing the hypothesis, first, a prerequisite test was carried out, namely the normality test. Because the data are normally distributed, to test  the hypothesis we used the t-test. It was obtained that tcount = 11.15 and ttable = 1.99 with α = 0.05. Because of the value of tcount> ttable, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model affects students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Keywords: Problem based Learning, Mathematic, Reasoning Ability

Abstract

The study investigates the increase in students mathematical problem-solving abilities after being treated with the Jigsaw cooperative model on the Pythagorean theorem. The method used in this research was an experimental method with pre-experimental designs and the research design was One Group Pretest Postest Design. The population was all students of VIII grade SMPN 1 Toba who were spread into four classes. Then the sample were students of VIII B class who were taken using the cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used measurement techniques and data collection tools used problem-solving ability tests in descriptions. After the data was tested on the sample, then the data analysis was then carried out to test the hypothesis. But first, doing the prerequisite test was the data normality test. The normality test of this data used Chi-Square (χ 2). Obtained data normality test results χ 2count = 2.75 and χ2 table = 7.81. Because χ2count <χ2table, then the data was normally distributed. The next test was to do a one-group t-test with a significance level (𝛼) = 0.05. The results obtained tcount = 2, 541 and t table = 1.961. Because tcount> ttable, it can be concluded that there was an increase in students mathematical abilities after being given a Jigsaw cooperative learning model. Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model, Jigsaw, Problem Solving

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the influence of Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning outcomes in surface area concepts. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a quasi-experimental form and the research design was a posttest only control design. The population of this research was 9th-grade students of 18 junior high schools in Pontianak and were divided into five classes. The sample was 9th D and 9th E grade taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used measurement techniques and data collection tools with a description test to determine student learning outcomes. After the data were tested in the two samples, data analysis performed to test the hypothesis. Before testing the hypothesis, the prerequisite test was the normality test. The normality test was not normal then the data analysis used Mann Whitney U-Test. From the data analysis results, obtained z count value of 1,87, while the z table value of 1,64 for 𝛼 = 0.05. Because of the z count > z table, it is concluded that there is an influence of Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning on student learning outcomes. Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Surface Area, Two Stay Two Stray

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of online learning using the zoom application on statistics course towards the undergraduate students ability of Plantation Product Processing Technology Study Program at Politeknik Negeri Ketapang to understand the mathematical concepts. The study used the associative type of the quantitative research one group pretest-posttest design using the measurement technique towards the ability on understanding the mathematical concept and analysis t-test. The result showed that there was significant effect on online learning using zoom application on statistic course using 10 sample of undergraduate students towards the ability on understanding the mathematical concept. Keywords: Mathematical Understanding, Online, Zoom

Abstract

The fact that is often found in schools so far, the learning process of mathematics still uses conventional methods. This study aimed to see the effect of applying the learning tournament strategy on student learning outcomes on the linear equation in one variable in VII grade at SMP N 11 Pontianak. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental. The research sample was students of VII A grade as the experimental class and VII C grade as the control class. The experimental group learning outcomes obtained an average score of 28.525, with a percentage of 63.39, while the learning outcomes in the control group obtained an average score of 22.625 with a percentage of 50.28. The results of the t-test with independent samples test obtained a Sig score. (2-tailed) = 0.000 <½ 0.025, then H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in student learning outcomes between the class given the learning tournament learning and the class given conventional learning on the linear equation in one variable. Keywords: Learning Tournament, Learning Strategy, Linear Equation of One Variable

Abstract

The study aimed to obtain information about comparing student learning outcomes, given the genius learning strategy and think talk write in terms of student creativity. The study was a quasi-experimental design and the research design was a 2x3 factorial design. The population in this study were all students of VIII grade at SMP Negeri 1 Sepauk, with a sample of VIIIC and VIIID grades who were randomly selected using cluster random sampling technique. Based on the results of data processing, the following conclusions were obtained: (1) The learning outcomes between students who were given a genius learning strategy were relatively the same as think talk write, both in general and based on the student's creativity category, (2) The learning outcomes between students who had relatively high creativity the same as students who have medium or low creativity, and students with moderate creativity have relatively the same learning outcomes as students who have low creativity both in general and in terms of learning strategies. Keywords: Creativity, Genius Learning, Think Talk Write
