Abstract

This study was descriptive research of the survey type and the paper examined students’ basic skills, accessibility, utilization, attitudes competence and challenges encountered on the use of digital mobile technologies and the internet for pedagogic experience among the Senior Secondary School 1, 2 and 3 students in Ogbomoso, Oyo State Nigeria. Students from four public secondary schools were purposively sampled for the study based on the access to use Tablet Pc for learning. Researcher-designed questionnaire was employed and contained items on basic skills, accessibility, utilization, attitudes competence and challenges encountered on the use of digital mobile technologies and the internet. Seven hundred and seventy-eight (778) respondents participated in the study and the data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, mean scores and percentages. Findings from this study revealed that considerable number of students have access to Tablet Pc and the internet; possessed skills, frequently accesses and utilizes their tablet Pc for fun, entertainment and non-academic related functions. They also cultivated good deal of interest in accessing social, fun and entertainment functions with their Tablet Pcs. However, students encountered challenges like: slow Internet connection, fragility of the touch screen, short battery life span, irregular electricity supply and uncontrollable challenge on the devices’ charging point. Therefore, seminars, workshops and trainings should be organized for students on competence and skills development that will facilitate maximum utilization of newer mobile devices for academic purposes.

Abstract

In the year of 2012 SISFO PNS, already introduced at SMK Negeri 8 Pontianak, the problem that the writer found were: teachers only open the program at the time of student report will giving to students that made the program will be busy because too many users access it, there is some teacher did not complete the process of filling session but straight to the final score, the programmer is always slow maintenance. From that problem, the writer was aimed at evaluating the implementation of SISFO PNS. The model of evaluation used in this research was CIPP (context, input, process, product). This model was developed by Daniel L. Stufflebeam and friends. The technique of data collection is used observation, interview and documentation. The method of data analysis used descriptive percentage analysis. The results of this research were (1) the evaluation percentage toward context showed that the good result with average of 85.58% (2) the evaluation percentage toward input indicated that the good result with average 73.26% (3) the evaluation percentage toward the process showed that the good result with but it needs to improve with average 67.43% (4) the evaluation percentage toward the product showed that the good result with 79.79%.Keywords: CIPP, Program Evaluation, Students’ Score Analyzing

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of problem-based learning models on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The study used an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design and a posttest-only control design. The population was all classes in VIII grade at MTs Negeri 3 Mempawah in the 2019/2020 school year. The samples were students of VIII C and VIII A grades and were drawn using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques and tools were measurements that used a essay test contained indicators of mathematical reasoning abilities. After being tested in the two samples, data analysis was then carried out to test the hypothesis. Before testing the hypothesis, first, a prerequisite test was carried out, namely the normality test. Because the data are normally distributed, to test  the hypothesis we used the t-test. It was obtained that tcount = 11.15 and ttable = 1.99 with α = 0.05. Because of the value of tcount> ttable, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model affects students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Keywords: Problem based Learning, Mathematic, Reasoning Ability
