Abstract

A study aimed to determine the economic value of corn substitution with a combination of taro tuber flour, moringa leaf flour and coconut oil in broiler chickens. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). There were four ration treatments that were tried. The first, for starter phase: R0=60% corn + 40% concentrate; R1=40% corn + 40% concentrate + 20% combination of taro tuber flour, moringa leaf meal and coconut oil; R2=20% corn + 40% concentrate + 40% combination of taro tuber, moringa leaf meal, and coconut oil; R3 = 40% concentrate and 60% combination of taro tuber, moringa leaf powder, and coconut oil. The second, the finisher phase: R0=67% corn + 33% concentrate, R1= 44.67% corn + 33% concentrate + 22.33% combination of taro tuber, moringa leaf flour, and coconut oil; R2 = 22.33% corn + 33% concentrate + 44.67% combination of taro tubers, moringa leaf meal and coconut oil; R3 = 33% concentrate + 67% combination of taro tuber, moringa leaf powder, and coconut oil). The results of the study showed that the combination of taro tuber flour, moringa leaf meal and coconut oil as a substitute for corn in broiler rations had a significant effect on costs (P<0.05) but had no significant effect on economic efficiency, income, Return on Investment, R/C , and Income Over Feed and Chick Cost (P>0.05). Suatu penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai ekonomi dari substitusi jagung dengan kombinasi tepung umbi talas, tepung.daun.kelor dan minyak kelapa pada ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Ada empat perlakuan ransum yang dicobakan. Pertama untuk fase starter: R0=60% jagung + 40% konsentrat; R1=40% jagung + 40% konsentrat + 20% kombinasi tepung umbi talas, tepung daun kelor dan minyak kelapa; R2=20% jagung + 40% konsentrat + 40% kombinasi umbi talas, tepung daun kelor, dan minyak kelapa; R3=40% konsentrat dan 60% kombinasi umbi talas, tepung daun kelor, dan minyak kelapa. Kedua, fase finisher: R0=67% jagung + 33% konsentrat, R1= 44,67% jagung + 33% konsentrat + 22,33% kombinasi umbi talas, tepung daun kelor, dan minyak kelapa; R2= 22,33% jagung + 33% konsentrat + 44,67% kombinasi umbi talas, tepung daun kelor, dan minyak kelapa; R3=33% konsentrat + 67 % kombinasi umbi talas, tepung daun kelor, dan minyak kelapa). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi tepung umbi talas, tepung daun kelor dan minyak kelapa sebagai substitusi jagung dalam ransum ayam broiler berpengaruh nyata terhadap biaya (P<0,05) tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap efisiensi ekonomi, pendapatan, Return on Investment, R/C, dan Income Over Feed and Chick Cost (P>0,05).

Abstract

Research to evaluate in vitro rumen fermentation has been carried out in the Field Laboratory and Feed Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Marine and Fisheries, University of Nusa Cendana Kupang which lasted for 5 months. The experimental research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments was: sorghum silage without moringa (S0); sorghum - moringa silage with the planting space of moringa was 40 x 40 cm (S40); sorghum-moringa silage at a spacing of 60 x 60 cm (S60), sorghum-moringga silage at a spacing of 80 x 80 cm (S80). The collected data were tabulated and analyzed using analysis of variance (Anova). The results showed that rumen fermentation on pH, VFA, and NH3 did not depend on plant spacing. Based on the tesearch results, it was concluded that the different spacing of moringa grown with sorghum gave the same results to rumen fermentation in vitro after going through the ensilage process which resulted in pH values, the amount of volatile fatty acids and ammonia in the ruminal fluid ammonia at normal levels.   Riset dengan tujuan mengevaluasi fermentasi rumen in vitro telah dilaksanakan di lahan Laboratorium Lapangan dan Laboratorium Kimia Pakan Fakultas Peternakan, Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Nusa Cendana Kupang yang berlangsung selama 5 bulan. Metode riset percobaan yang digunakan berupa Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah silase yang dibuat dari biomasa sorgum dan kelor hasil jarak tanam kelor yang berbeda. Perlakuan tersebut adalah: silase sorgum tanpa kelor (S0), silase sorgum-kelor pada jarak tanam kelor 40 x 40 cm (S40), silase sorgum-kelor pada jarak tanam kelor 60 x 60 cm (S60), silase sorgum-kelor pada jarak tanam kelor 80 x 80 cm (S80). Data yang terkumpul ditabulasi dan analisis menggunakan analisis ragam. Hasil riset memperlihatkan fermentasi rumen terhadap pH, VFA dan NH3 tidak tergantung pada jarak tanam. Berdasarkan hasil riset, disimpulkan bahwa jarak tanam yang berbeda dari kelor yang ditanam bersama sorgum memberikan hasil yang sama terhadap fermentasi rumen secara in vitro setelah melalui proses ensilase menghasilkan nilai pH, jumlah asam lemak mudah terbang dan ammonia cairan rumen berada dalam level normal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of substitution of fermented water spinach flour in commercial feed on the physical quality of super rooster meat. There are 80 super roosters used. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, where each treatment consisted of 5 replications and each replication consisted of 4 chickens. The treatments included: R0 = 100% basal ration (control), R1 = 10% fermented water spinach flour + 90% basal ration, R2 = 20% fermented water spinach flour + 80% basal ration and R3 = 30% kale flour fermented water + 70% basal ration. The variables observed in the study were meat pH, water holding capacity, cooking loss and tenderness. The results of analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on pH, water holding capacity and cooking loss, while for meat tenderness tested using Kruskal-Wallis analysis showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) follow-up test used Man Whitney analysis stated that the treatments R0-R2, R1-R2 were significantly different. It was concluded that the substitution of fermented water spinach flour in commercial feed up to a level of 30% had a positive effect on pH, water holding capacity and cooking loss as well as increasing the level of tenderness. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi tepung kangkung air afkir terfermentasi dalam pakan komersial terhadap kualitas fisik daging ayam kampung jantan super. Materi yang digunakan sebanyak 80 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, dimana tiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 ulangan dan tiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Perlakuan yang dimaksud antara lain: R0 = 100% ransum basal (kontrol), R1= 10% tepung kangkung air terfermentasi + 90% ransum basal, R2 = 20% tepung kangkung air terfermentasi + 80% ransum basal dan R3 = 30% tepung kangkung air terfermentasi + 70% ransum basal. Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian yaitu pH daging, daya ikat air, susut masak dan keempukan. Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) pada pH, daya ikat air dan susut masak, sedangkan untuk keempukan daging diuji menggunakan Analisis Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) untuk uji lanjut Man Whitney menyatakan bahwa perlakuan R0-R2, R1-R2 berbeda nyata. Disimpulkan bahwa substitusi tepung kangkung air terfermentasi dalam pakan komersial sampai dengan level 30% memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pH, daya ikat air dan susut masak serta meningkatkan level keempukan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the physical quality and antioxidant activity of beef sausage with the addition of Moringa leaf flour (Moringaoleifera). The research material was beef sausage with the addition of Moringa leaf flour. The research method was an experimental method using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 repeat times. The treatment of adding moringa leaf powder was 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, respectively. Parameters measured were yield, pH, cooking losses, water binding capacity, and antioxidant activity. The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then Duncan's multiple range test was performed. The results showed that the addition of moringa leaf flour affected the pH value. (P<0.05), and antioxidant activity (P<0.05) but did not affect the yield, water holding capacity and cooking losses (P>0.05) of beef sausages. It was concluded that, the use of moringa leaf flour in the manufacture of beef sausages as much as 3% is an option that can be applied. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji kualitas fisik dan aktivitas antioksidan sosis daging sapi dengan tambahan tepung daun kelor (Moringa oleifera).Materi penelitian adalah sosis daging sapi dengan penambahan tepung daun kelor. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan. Perlakuanpenambahan tepung daun kelor masing-masing 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%. Parameter yang diukur adalah hasil rendemen, pH, susut masak, daya ikat air, dan aktivitas antioksidan. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dan selanjutnya dilakukan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penambahan tepung daun kelor mempengaruhi nilai pH (P<0,05), dan aktivitas antioksidan (P<0,05) namun tidak mempengaruhi rendemen, daya ikat air dan susut masak (P>0,05) sosis daging sapi. Disimpulkan bahwa, penggunaan tepung daun kelor dalam pembuatan sosis daging sapi sebanyak 3% merupakan pilihan yang dapat diaplikasikan.

Abstract

A study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of giving fermented rumen waste in concentrate feed on the linear body size of bali cattle. This study used 12 bullswithanagerangeof 1-1.5 years, anaveragebodyweightof 145.3 kg. The study was designed using a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were: P₀ (forage feed + concentrate feed with out fermented rumen content), P₁ (foragefeed + concentratefeedcontaining 20% ​​fermented rumen content), P₂ (forage feed + concentrate feed containing 40% fermented rumen content), P₃ (forage feed + concentrate feed containing 60% fermented rumen content). Data analysis used a one-way pattern of variance. The results showed that the average body length, chest circumference and average shoulder height were respectively 0.10 ± 0.01 cm/e/d, 0.11 ± 0.01 cm/e/d, 0.08 ± 0.01 cm /e/h. The results of the variance showed that treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on body length, chest circumference and shoulder height. It was concluded that the increase in linear body size of fattening male Bali cattle that received concentrate feed treatment without fermented bovine rumen content was the same as cattle that received concentrate feed treatment containing 20, 40 and 60% fermented rumen content.   Suatu penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian limbah isi rumen terfermentasi dalam pakan konsentrat terhadap ukuran linear tubuh sapi bali. Penelitianini menggunakan ternak sapi jantan bakalan sebanyak 12 ekor dengan kisaran umur 1-1,5 tahun,rataan bobot badan 145,3 kg. Penelitian dirancang menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: P₀ (pakan hijauan + pakan konsentrat tanpa isi rumen terfermentasi), P₁ (pakan hijauan + pakan konsentrat mengandung 20% isi rumen terfermentasi), P₂ (pakan hijauan + pakan konsentrat mengandung 40% isi rumen terfermentasi), P₃ (pakan hijauan + pakan konsentrat mengandung 60% isi rumen terfermentasi). Analisis data menggunakan sidik ragam pola satu jalur. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rataan panjang badan,lingkar dada dan rataan tinggi pundak berturut-turut 0,10±0,01 cm/e/h, 0,11±0,01 cm/e/h, 0,08±0,01 cm/e/h. Hasil sidik ragam menunjukan perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap panjang badan, lingkar dada dan tinggi pundak. Disimpulkan bahwa pertambahan ukuran linear tubuh ternak sapi bali jantan penggemukan yang mendapat perlakuan pakan konsentrat tanpa isi rumen sapi terfermentasi sama dengan ternak sapi yang mendapat perlakuan pakan konsentrat mengandung 20, 40 dan 60% isi rumen terfermentasi.

Abstract

The research aimed at examining the effect of doses of liquid organic fertilizer on Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) on the production of mini elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) on latosol soil, was conducted in Kayu Putih Village, Oebobo District, Kupang City for 3 months. This study was designed based on a completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications. The four treatments were: M0: without Moringa liquid fertilizer (control), M1: 100 ml Moringa liquid fertilizer, M2: 200 ml Moringa liquid fertilizer, M3: 300 ml Moringa liquid fertilizer. The parameters observed were the production of fresh, dry and organic matter. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on mini elephant grass production. It was concluded that the application of 100 ml of liquid organic fertilizer for Moringa leaves tended to give better results on the production of mini elephant grass on latosol soil. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh level dosis pupuk organik cair daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) terhadap produksi rumput gajah mini (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) pada tanah latosol, telah dilakukan di Kelurahan Kayu Putih, Kecamatan Oebobo, Kota Kupang selama 3 bulan. Penelitian ini didesain berdasarkan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Ke empat perlakuan adalah: M0: tanpa pupuk cair daun kelor (kontrol), M1: 100 ml pupuk cair daun kelor, M2: 200 ml pupuk cair daun kelor, M3: 300 ml pupuk cair daun kelor. Parameter yang diamati adalah produksi bahan segar, bahan kering dan bahan organik. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap produksi rumput gajah mini. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian 100 ml pupuk organik cair daun kelor cenderung memberikan hasil yang lebih baik terhadap produksi rumput gajah mini pada tanah latosol.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to look at the chemical and organoleptic qualities of meatballs fromrejected chicken added with banana weevil flour as a substitute for tapioca flour. A CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with 5 groups and 3 replications was applied in the study. The treatmentconsisted of P0= 40% tapioca flour + 0% banana hump flour, P1= 30% tapioca flour + 10% bananaweevil flour, P2= 20% tapioca flour + 10% banana weevil flour, P3= 10% tapioca flour + 30% bananaweevil flour, P4 = 0% tapioca flour + 40% banana weevil flour. The variables studied were chemicalquality tests (amylopectin, carbohydrates and elasticity) and organoleptic tests (taste, aroma and color).The results showed that substitution of banana weevil flour had a significant effect (P<.0.05) on thechemical and organoleptic quality of meatballs from rejected chicken. 40% replacement of tapiocaflour with banana weevil flour in meatball processing can increase carbohydrates, amylopectin, andelasticity but decrease taste, color and aroma scores.Banana weevil flour which replaces tapioca in theprocessing of meatballs and substitution at a level of 40% can increase carbohydrates, amylopectin,and elasticity and decrease the taste, color and aroma scores. Maksud dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kualitas kimia dan organoleptik bakso daging ayamafkir yang ditambahkan tepung bonggol pisang sebagai pengganti tepung tapioka. Rancangan AcakLengkap (RAL) dengan 5 kelompok dan 3 kali ulangan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Perlakuanterdiri dari P0= 40% tepung tapioka + 0% tepung bonggol pisang, P1= 30% tepung tapioka + 10%tepung bonggol pisang, P2= 20% tepung tapioka + 10% tepung bonggol pisang, P3= 10% tepungtapioka + 30% tepung bonggol pisang, P4= 0% tepung tapioka + 40% tepung bonggol pisang. Variabelyang diteliti adalah uji kualitas kimia (amilopektin, karbohidrat dan kekenyalan) dan uji organoleptik(rasa, aroma, dan warna). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa substitusi tepung bonggol pisangmemberi pengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) pada kualitas kimia serta organoleptik bakso daging ayamafkir. Tepung bonggol pisang yang menggantikan tapioka dalam pengolahan bakso dan substitusi padalevel 40% dapat meningkatkan karbohidrat, amilopektin, dan kekenyalan dan menurunkan skor rasa,warna dan aroma.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of studying the effect of a combination of purslane flour (Portulaca oleracea L) combined with Moringa flour (Moringa oleifera L) in rations on the blood profile of super grower stage chickens. The material used was blood samples from 20 chickens. The experiment used a completely randomized block design with 5 treatments and 4 groups. The five treatments studied were P1: commercial feed 90% + 10% purslane + 0% moringa; P2: commercial feed 90% + 7.5% purslane + 2.5% moringa ; P3: commercial feed 90% + 5.0% purslane + 5.0% moringa ; P4: commercial feed 90% + 2.5% purslane + 7.5% moringa ; P5: commercial feed 90% + 0% purslane + 10% moringa. The variables observed were the number of erythrocytes, the number of leukocytes, the hemoglobin level and the hematocrit value. Analysis of variance obtained results showed there was no significant effect (P>0.05) on the research variables. It can be concluded that the combination of purslane flour and moringa leaf meal in the ration with the best combination level was 7.5% purslane flour and 2.5% moringa leaf flour on the blood profile of super-grower stage chickens Riset ini dilakukan dengan maksud mengkaji pengaruh dari kombinasi tepung krokot (Portulaca oleracea L) yang dikombinasikan dengan tepung kelor (Moringa oleifera L) dalam ransum terhadap profil darah ayam kampung super fase grower. Materi yang digunakan adalah sampel darah yang berasal dari 20 ekor ayam. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Berblok dengan 5 perlakuan serta 4 ulangan. Kelima perlakuan yang diteliti adalah P1: pakan komersial 90% + 10% krokot + 0% kelor; P2: pakan komersial 90% + 7,5% krokot + 2,5% kelor ; P3: pakan komersial 90% + 5,0% krokot + 5,0% kelor ; P4: pakan komersial 90% + 2,5% krokot + 7.5% kelor ; P5: pakan komersial 90% + 0%krokot + 10% kelor. Variabel yang diamati yaitu jumlah eritrosit, jumlah leukosit, kadar hemoglobin dan nilai hematokrit. Analisis ragam mendapatkan hasil berpengaruh tidak signifikan (P>0,05) pada variabel penelitian. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi tepung krokot dan tepung daun kelor dalam ransum dengan level kombinasi terbaik adalah tepung krokot 7,5% dan tepung daun kelor 2,5% tehadap profil darah ayam kampung super fase grower.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the variability of quantitative and qualitative traits of kampong chickens in Kupang City and Kupang Regency. A total of 140 chickens consisting of 66 male kampong chickens and 74 female kampong chickens were used in this study. The method used was a direct observation survey on the quantitative and qualitative traits of kampong chickens. The association between sexes and quantitative traits was analyzed by t-test, while the qualitative data was analyzed by counting for the percentage. The diversity was determined by calculating the coefficient of variation (KK) of quantitative data. The results showed that male kampong chickens in Kupang City and Kupang Regency were dominated by 41.89% black feathered chickens, 37.88% yellow beak color, and 39.39% yellow shank color. Meanwhile, female kampong chickens were 43.94% red feathered, 53.05% black beak, and 50.00% black shanks. Black mottled feathers were found in male kampong chickens, whereas not found in female kampong chickens. Based on the quantitative characteristics, the wing length, tibia length, shank length, and the third finger length male kampong chicken were significantly higher than female kampong chicken (P≤0.05), while the shank circumference was not significantly different (P≥0.05). It can be concluded that kampong chickens in Kupang City and Kupang Regency was diverse based on quantitative traits.

Abstract

Pig farming has great potential for breeding in the city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The use of pigs as social livestock has led many people to raise pigs. In practice, farmers still rely on traditional habits inherited from their parents and experiences gained from the environment to raise pigs. Efforts are needed to address this. The adoption of innovations is a possible way to improve the productivity of the business, which will have an impact on its progress. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between farmer motivation and the adoption of pig farming innovations. The sample used in this study consisted of 100 pig farmers selected purposively from three districts in the city of Kupang. The analysis used in this study is Spearman's Rank Correlation analysis. The results of the research indicate that there is a very weak, significant, and positive relationship between economic motives and the adoption of innovations, with significance values of 0.019 (economic motives) and correlation coefficients of 0.023. Similarly, there is a very weak, significant, and positive relationship between the utilization of household food waste motive and the adoption of innovations, with a significance value of 0.027 and a correlation coefficient of 0.022. On the other hand, there is a very weak, significant, and negative relationship between socio-cultural motives and the adoption of innovations, with a significance value of 0.085 and a correlation coefficient of -0.019.
