Abstract

Three pesantren salaf joining in Bahtsul Masa’il Forum of Pesantren Pare, those are Pesantren Fathul ‘Ulum Kwagean, Darussalam Sumbersari and Mahir ar-Riyadh Ringinagung, are engaged in composing “Meluruskan Kesalahan Buku Putih Kiai NUâ€as a review for “Buku Putih Kiai NU†by Afrakhi, a book that has arisen unrest and slander among the Muslim. In this book, hadith is used and comprehended employing method and approach of understanding hadith. This study is examining the contribution of pesantren salaf in strengthening Islam ahl al-sunnah wa a al jama’ah related to the review and usage of hadith, as well as the underlying background. This qualitative field research uses phenomenological approach. The results show that the contribution of pesantren salaf in strengthening Islam ahl al-sunnah wa a al-jama’ah are providing hadith that is comprehended as the source of jurisprudence or, related to a problem, examining, reviewing, and synthesizing the hadith with other hadith or relating it with Al-Qur’an. Such contribution was underlied by a view that hadith constitutes a source of Islamic jurisprudence, by societal demand and the appeal of religious institution to put hadith at the results of Bahthul Masa’il decision, and by the necessity of hadith contextualization as well.

Abstract

Tax is the main source of state revenue in this modern era, but one of the big problems is that tax in most moslems’ opinion is not a part of religious obligation. Meanwhile, taxation concept in Islam was known and implemented in the early Islamic rule. Many classic ulama studied about al-kharaj and taxation systems, and one of them was Ibn Rajab al-Hambali (Died in 795 A.H or 1393 A.D), but these books did not have take more moslems’ attention. This is a library reseach and usea qualitative method with models of discriptive, analytic and eksplanatory. The primary source of data is the book written by Ibn Rajab al-Hambali, al-IstikhrÄj Li AḥkÄm al-kharÄj. Secondery sources of data are all of books and articles that talk about the topic. Descriptive and comparative methods were then used to analyze the data. The results of this reseach are: 1) The concept of Al-kharaj or land tax in kitab al-IstikhrÄj Li AḥkÄm al-kharÄj is based on ijtihad of imam for being beneficial in the present time and in the next time. So, the implementation of al-kharaj throughout the Islamic history is dynamic and flexibel. The dynamism and flexibility in the policy of al-kharÄj include the dynamism of its policy changes and the rationale behind the reduction in tax rates, the policy of affordable taxes, the changes in types of taxes and the collection policy; 2) Taxation system in the Islamic public finance that is studied in kitab al IstikhrÄj Li AḥkÄm al-kharÄj is matching and suitable with principles of tax in public finance proposed by Adam Smith that is known as four maxims of taxation: equity, certainty, convenience and economy. The dynamism in the implementation of al-kharÄj enable us to develop the Islamic taxation systems, that is synchronous with management of zakat, so that the justice for all citizens, moslem and not moslem, can be realized.

Abstract

The present study aims at examining teacher’s professionalism and its reciprocal relation with functional position, rank stratification, length of work, and the diploma. Besides intended to verify the theory of James H. Stronge et al, this study can also be employed to evaluate Peraturan Pemerintah RI number 37 year 2009 Chapter 7, that states that teacher certification is valid as long as the teachers conduct their assignment as teachers, and it is not necessarily evaluated regularly. Data collection technique in the present study was executed through documentation and questionnaire. The  total of the student sample who provided their assessment on the teacher professionalism was 328, with 8 students representing each class. Each student provides their assessment for all teachers who were teaching in even semester of 2013-2014. Kendali tau was then employed for the data analysis technique. This study concluded that, firsly, functional position is negatively correlated with teacher professionalism at the Department of Tarbiyah STAIN Kediri; secondly, rank stratification is also negatively correlated with teacher professionalism; thirdly, length of teaching is not correlated with teacher professionalism; and fourthly, level of diploma is also not correlated with teacher professionalism at the Department of Tarbiyah STAIN Kediri.

Abstract

This study focuses on the learning success and its reciprocal correlation with teacher professionalism according to the student perspective. The present study is necessary to conduct, since as one evidence of teacher professionalism, teacher certification, according to Peraturan Pemerintah Number 37 year 2009 Chapter 7, is valid as long as a teacher does their assignment as teachers, and is not evaluated regularly. Meanwhile, teacher evaluation, according to James H. Strongs, is considerably needed to improve teacher professionalism in order that teachers can provide the best quality learning experience to all their students. The data collection technique employed in the present study was questionnaire. The respondent was all students of the Departments of Ushuludin and Syari’ah, studying in semester III, V and VII who were having classes when the data were collected, with a total of 681 students. Pearson Product Moment was then employed to analyze the data, since the data of the two variables were interval and normally distributed. The present study oncludes that, firstly, 11 (1.62%) of the students assess that the ssionalism of their teachers is very bad, 39 (5.73%) bad, 200 (29.3%) fair, 192 (19%) ood, and 13 (1.91%) very good. Secondly, 13 (1.31%) of the students ought that the success of their learning was very bad, 44 (6.46%) bad, 192 28.19%) fair, 308 (45.23%) good, and 124 (28.21%) very good. Thirdly, eacher professionalism is positively correlated with the learning success; the ontribution of teacher professionalism for the learning success is 33.18%, hile the other 66.82% is affected by other variables.

Abstract

The research aims to: (1). describe the patterns of communication employed by Thai students to facilitate the process of their adaptation and acculturation with the Indonesian culture especially in the environment STAIN Kediri ; (2). to identify and describe internal and external factors that facilitate Thai students in the process of adaptation and acculturation with culture, especially in the Kediri . This study is categoried into descriptive research type with qualitative method. Methods of collecting data are by using direct observation, participative, in depth interview and documentation. The respondents were taken with purposive sampling technique. The data analysis applied is Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of data analysis which consist of data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The result shows that: (1) the communication patterns that are applied to facilitate the process of adaptation and acculturation with the culture of Indonesia in the environment STAIN Kediri are interpersonal communication with friends countrymen, friends in campus, and nearby residents. There was also a group communication to perform routine discussion and groups of discussion; (2) Internal factors that help the process of adaptation and acculturation is a psychological adaptation that is the motivation of their friends and countrymen, while external factors are socio-cultural adaptation that is intended to improve interaction with the new culture, their land lady and their friends. In addition, the potential of acculturation include similarities in terms of religion, race, environment, similar language (i.e. Malay), educational background, open personality, knowledge about Indonesia. Besides, the age of Thai students who are still young make them easy to be accustomed with new culture and environment.

Abstract

The widely appearance of Boarding School in Indonesia is a phenomenon worth examining. According to Karel A. Steenbirk, Boarding School is a trans historical synthesis of pesantren and modernity, such that this enables the school to create an ideal educational environment in order to produce generation who believe, have good knowledge and have good works. This article is describing the result of a study examining the case of Boarding School at MTs Ma’arif NU Kota Blitar, East Java. The writer intends to illustrate to what extent the education in the Boarding School at MTs Ma’arif NU can foster the students’ praying activities in order to protect themselves responding to the challenges they have currently faced. Thus, this article is intended to describe the effectiveness of Boarding School in developing that praying activities. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. The obtained data were then analyzed qualitatively, by applying analysis procedures proposed by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data organization, data display and conclusion drawing or verification. The results show that: (1) in the implementation of Boarding School at MTs Ma’arif NU Kota Blitar, there are three sorts of internal activities, morning activities, evening activities, and night activities, besides the programs other than these three activities, filled with worshipping activities. Worshipping activities in the form of praying at MTs Ma’arif NU are obligatory for all, and must be done together, for both obligatory and suggested prayers; (2) The effect of the implementation of the rule that praying together is a must is that students have high discipline. They are aware of their own responsibility for their need to do praying.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine how the teaching of Arabic at Pondok Pesantren Salaf is implemented such that it is able to improve skill in reading Arabic texts. This study is then expected to propose a theory of teaching Arabic that is effective particularly in the teaching of reading. This is a qualitative study employs pondok pesantren that is assumed as teaching Arabic using classic books (Salafiyah). Case study is used in order that the researcher can uncover this phenomenon completely and comprehensively in the form of analytic description to answer a number of research questions, so that this study is able to this explain the system of Arabic education and teaching at those pesantren. This study is conducted in three large pesantren in Kediri, those are Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Ploso Mojo Kediri, Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Mubtadi’in Lirboyo Kota Kediri, and Pondok Pesantren Darus Salam Sumbersari Kepung Kediri. These three pesantren is selected based on the assumtion that they represent all pondok pesantren in Kediri. The present study concludes that: (1) The teaching of Arabic at Pondok Pesantren salaf in Kediri commonly use traditional system of Arabic teaching, in the forms of bandongan (the teacher is reading aloud the book and explaining the grammar as weel as the meaning, and the students are seriously listening), sorogan (the students are reading aloud the book and explaining both the grammar and the meaning, and the teacher is listening and giving some necessary corrections on both the grammar and the meaning), and memorizing. Although these three pesantren employ approximately the same methods, some differences are found. Pondok Lirboyo applies four classic methods (bandongan, sorogan, memorization and discussion), Pondok Al-Falah Ploso applies the system of salaf education and student centered teaching, that emphazies on the autonomy and activeness of the students, and Pondok Sumbersari pplies dual system of teaching, i.e. traditional pondok sistem of education dan formal schools; (2) The contribution of this model of teaching Arabic at pondok pesantren to improve ability in reading Arabic resources for santri is very significant. This is because the methods applied are very easy to understand and realize, besides the traditional pesantren does not stick on formal education but provide alternative teachings in order to improve students’ ability in reading Arabic classic resources.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi penerapan metode think-pair share (berpikir-berpasanganberbagi) untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan membaca teks naratif pada siswa kelas delapan MTsN Kunir, Blitar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Intrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes. Subject penelitian adalah siswa kelas delapan MTsN Kunir, Blitar yang terdiri dari 36 siswa. Ada dua kriteria kesuksesan pada penelitian ini. Pertama, jika 80% siswa berpartisipasi aktif pada proses pembelajaran, dan kedua jika 80% siswa mendapat skor minimum 75 sebagaimana kriteria skor minimum (KKM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua putaran untuk menerapkan metode think-pair-share dengan sukses. Hasil penelitian pada putaran pertama menunjukkan 38,8% siswa dapat melampaui skor minimum. Sedangkan dari hasil observasi, partisipasi siswa pada aktifitas membaca adalah 13, 8% pada pertemuan pertama dan 25% pada pertemuan kedua. Oleh karena itu, putaran pertama belum sukses, dan perlu diadakan perbaikan pada perlakuan yang diberikan. Pada putaran kedua, 81,25% siswa mampu melampaui batas skor minimum 75, dan partisipasi siswa pada aktifitas membaca adalah 80,25%. Sehingga bisa disimpulkan bahwa putaran kedua sukses.

Abstract

Local revenue of local government is a right that is recognized as an addition to net asset value during a given period. For that all goods and services as a result of economic activities that operate in the domestic territory, regardless of whether the factors of production derived from or owned by a resident of the area, is the Gross Domestic Product. Local revenue is the revenue from the tax sector, retribution, the results of companies belonging to the region, the results of the wealth management separated areas, and other areas of legitimate revenue. In Law No. 33 of 2004 on Financial Balance between Central and Local Government, it is stated that the local revenue sources consist of regional revenue, Tax Revenue and Non-Tax. Under Law No. 34 of 2000 on the amendment of Law No. 18 of 1997 on local taxes and levies, what is meant by local taxes are compulsory contributions made by individuals and entities to the area without a direct reward balance, which can be imposed by legislation in force, which is used to finance the implementation of local government and regional development. Whereas levies are payment for certain services or granting special permits provided by the local government or for the benefit of private persons or entities. Local taxes and levies are one source of revenue (PAD). Local Revenue is one source of local revenue. The increased local taxes and levies are expected to increase revenue of an area, and the increased revenue is expected to increase in local revenue.

Abstract

The research in this thesis is motivated by moral aspect rather than overlooking learners, particularly learners who are experiencing puberty, when their curiosity raging-nggebu with things that are foreign to them. Technology is the most dominant factor in supporting their curiosity. For example, technology delivers everything instantly, software that enables google search of all knowledge, knowledge that can be both positive and negative. Subsequently, this fact affects the young who employ such technology improperly, especially those who are students. The rise of the porn video that has spread in cyberspace make this negative impact worse to those who are still studying. Thus, this situation requires teachers who are emotionally intelligent and have good morality in order to produce reliable output. Teachers who become educators at both institutions already have experience of EQ tests in collaboration with other universities psychiatrist. Emotional intelligence determines our potential to learn the skills - practical skills based on five elements: self-awareness, motivation, self-regulation, empathy and skills in developing relationships with others. This is associated with emotional intelligence as a teacher educator, who have the ability to recognize emotions, self-control, self-motivation, empathy and fostering hunbungan to provide a forum for students to pay more attention to their behavior. Students will indirectly follow what the teacher do.
