Abstract

This research is a literature study with the theme of the tourism social impact in a village, namely Prawirotaman Village in Yogyakarta. There are two questions to be answered in this research, those are (1) how the origin of the name Prawirotaman as a "tourist village"?; and (2) what social impacts arise from tourists in Kampung Prawirotaman as a "tourist village"? The data in this research was collected from the results of previous researches. The conclusions of this research show that the emergence of Prawirotaman as a "tourist village" needs a quite long process and has social impacts, such as (1) profession changing that bring up new social statuses; (2) social relation changing in certain circles, especially related to inter-individual marriage and job; (3) availability of job vacancies that attract newcomers and cause unfair competition; and (4) new pattern of social interaction. As a note, this research is made by the previous research data through literature studies because it was conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic which made it impossible to conduct direct interviews and observations. Therefore, further research needs to be done related to the same theme in Prawirotaman using primary data, through observation and in-depth interviews, so that it can complete the shortcomings that have not been accommodated in this article and also making the data presented more up to date. Keywords: Social Impact, Tourism, Tourist Village

Abstract

The tourism sector provides a significant contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Republic of Indonesia, both through foreign exchange and economic turnover. Although the Indonesian tourism industry after the COVID19 pandemic has changed with an emphasis on green and clean products, it is hoped that this sector will be lessened by the community compared to the previous era. Research and development of VR has been carried out in various fields such as games, education, aviation, medicine, the application of VR in tourism is still common, there is a need to implement tourism while staying at home. The results of the systematic literature review conducted provide an explanation of the starting point for research by applying VR and making 3600 videos for industrial tourism. Keywords: Environmental Tourism, Virtual Reality, Video

Abstract

This study discusses how virtual tours can be an alternative to traveling online during the covid 19 pandemic. By using a qualitative descriptive method, the author wants to describe how many tourism actors use virtual tours as tourism products that promise to be sold during the covid 19 pandemic. By presenting pictures and videos along with digital tour guides, they are able to make tourists feel curious so that they are interested in buying these products and enjoying them only with laptops, computers (PCs), smart wires and internet networks and can be accessed anywhere. The author's observations from 158 travel agencies in Yogyakarta that are members of ASITA are only about 10% or 15 travel agencies that sell tourism products/tour packages virtually, while tour guides who are members of the DIY Indonesian Guides Association (HPI) are only around 5% or 25. only people involved in virtual tour activities. The lack of tourism actors who carry out virtual tour activities is due to the lack of availability of virtual tour supporting equipment, inadequate human resources, difficulties in marketing tourism products/tour packages, and there are still many consumers who want to buy tourism products/tour packages directly. Keywords: Virtual Tour, Tour Actors, Tour Packages

Abstract

Wayang Kulit (leather shadow-puppet play) is one of Indonesia's original cultures that was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, the center of cultural arts in Yogyakarta, regularly shows wayang kulit performances as cultural arts performances. Wayang kulit performances at the Yogyakarta Palace were held every Thursday from 10.00 - 13.00 WIB in Bangsal Srimanganti of Yogyakarta Palace.  By looking at the phenomenon of wayang kulit performances at the Srimanganti Palace, the researcher wants to see how far the role of wayang kulit as a global cultural heritage has become a tourist attraction in Yogyakarta. The global role of wayang kulit as a tourism attraction will be studied using the concept of 4A Tourism (Attractions, Amenities, Accessibility, Ancillary) combined with the theory of the Global Village by Marshall McLuhan. The findings show that the management of cultural tourism in the Yogyakarta Palace has successfully implemented the 4A concept in tourism. The application of this concept has had many effects on the sustainability of tourism in the Yogyakarta palace, especially wayang kulit performances. Keywords: Wayang Kulit, Puppet Show, Yogyakarta Palace, Cultural Heritage
