Abstract

In the health sector, maternal mortality remains a major issue in Indonesia. High-risk mothers are one of the leading causes of death. If a mother has 4T and is too pregnant, she meets the risk criteria: young, old, frequent, and a lot In this study, a cross-sectional approach was used, and quota sampling was used to select a 50-person sample. High-risk pregnant women's compliance with pregnancy checks in the Sungai Betung Health Center work area was significantly correlated with family support, with a significant value (p) of 0.001 0.05. The correlation coefficient (p) is 0.619, indicating that pregnant women in the Sungai Betung Health Center work area are more likely to comply with pregnancy checks if their families are supportive. During the Covid-19 pandemic, it was discovered that prenatal screenings for high-risk pregnant women were associated with family support. This study suggests that healthcare providers and families should pay close attention to high-risk pregnant women, particularly those with four (4T), who should not have their pregnancies checked too frequently, too frequently, or too close to home.

Abstract

Introduction: Alcohol consumption among teenagers is a significant public health issue on a global scale. However, the levels of alcohol consumption among teenagers and their understanding of its impact on human health are still relatively poorly documented in various regions of Indonesia, especially among teenagers in the eastern regions of Indonesia. Objective: This research aims to comprehend the social motivations driving alcohol consumption among teenagers in Eastern Indonesia, identify contributing motivations, and investigate their implications in clinical nursing practice. Method: This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The study population consists of teenagers aged 16–17 in the eastern region of Indonesia. Sampling was conducted using the snowball sampling method based on predefined inclusion criteria. The data were gathered through in-depth interviews, recorded using audio recording devices, and supplemented with field notes. Data analysis was carried out using the Colaizzi method, continuing until data saturation was achieved. Result: The research findings reveal a variety of perspectives among East Indonesian teenagers regarding alcohol consumption, including cultural normalization of drinking and youth parties, factors associated with adolescent alcohol consumption, conflicting feelings about alcohol consumption, and alcohol consumption as a symbol of masculinity. Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of a more holistic approach to understanding and addressing alcohol consumption issues among teenagers in Eastern Indonesia. Clinical nursing practice implications involve intensifying health education efforts for adolescents and developing more effective interventions to reduce the risks associated with alcohol consumption among teenagers, particularly in Eastern Indonesia

Abstract

The high incidence of hypertension in the elderly and uncontrolled triggers degenerative diseases such as congestive heart failure, kidney failure, and vascular disease such as stroke and peripheral arterial disease. The high incidence of hypertension is directly proportional to the high complications that occur, so adequate nonpharmacologic treatment is needed. Celery (Apium graveolens L.) is one of the types of herbal therapy used to treat hypertension. Traditional Chinese society has long used celery to lower blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of celery leaf decoction on elderly blood pressure in patients with hypertension in the Mambi Health Center, Mamasa District. His research method is a quasi-experimental method, using a time-series research design. This study took a sample of 20 people. The sampling techniques were consecutive sampling, and the measuring instruments used were observation sheets and spigmanometers. Analyzed by the Friedman test with a significance level of alpha = 0.05. The results of the study obtained statistical tests showing that there were significant differences by comparing systolic blood pressure before, 3 days of administration and 7 days of administration of celery leaves, obtaining a mean value which decreased from the first day, the third day and the days of 2.75, 2.23 and 1.03 with a value of 0.000 <0.05, as well as Diastolic blood pressure, respectively, 2.75, 1.98 and 1.30 with p value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is an effect of giving celery leaf decoction to reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure

Abstract

Children aged 5–6 years are at preschool age; this period is also said to be the golden period and window of opportunity because children are starting to enter a new, unfamiliar environment and learn many new things. During this period, mothers play an important role in providing early stimulation for children's development, so the mother's knowledge and attitudes are very influential. The aim of this research was to determine the comparison of knowledge between housewife mothers and working mothers regarding the development of children aged 5–6 years using the KPSP assessment at Pembina Matakali Kindergarten. The type of research used in this research is a correlation study, and the research design used is analytical with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of 38 mothers and children aged 5–6 years at the Pembina Matakali Kindergarten and a sample of 38 mothers and children aged 5–6 years at the Pembina Matakali Kindergarten using total sampling. The results of the Chi Square Test obtained an asymp.Sig (2-Sided) Continuity Correlations value of 0.00 (0.00<0.05), so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant relationship between the knowledge of the housewife and mother works on the development of children aged 5–6 years with KPSP research at Pembina Matakali Kindergarten. It is hoped that suggestions from this research can provide information to mothers about the importance of a mother's role in the child's development process.
