Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to understand the impacts of alternative movies on emotion. Posttest only design using proxy pretest was used. Twenty four undergraduate students of Universitas Gadjah Mada were divided into three groups based on their movies preferences: alternative group, mainstream group, and control group. Emotion as the dependent variable was measured post treatment using DES (Differential Emotion Scale) and was analyzed with one-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was no differences in emotion between the three groups (F=.376 (p>.05).

Abstract

This research purpose to develop a valid and reliable patient satisfaction tool. The modification procedures include: preparation, practice, and finalization. The result of modification is called Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire 2017 (KKP-2017). Aspects in KKP-2017 include: interpersonal manner, technical quality/professionalism behavior, accessibility/convenience, financial aspects, and physical environment. Data analysis includes content validity, item scale correlation and reliability. The result of content validity in 82 items cover three questionnaire formats which include KKP-2017 Format 40, Format 25, and Format 10. Items selection is considered by correlation coefficient > 0,3 that yield 40 items with reliability estimation 0,936, KKP-2017 Format 25 with reliability estimation 0.928 and KKP-Format 10 with reliability estimation 0.883. KKP-2017 can be used to measure the level of patient satisfaction in hospital services.

Abstract

Innovation has been identical with the use of new ways to gain the effectiveness and efficiency of a product, service, or methodology by a profit organization in order to face the business competition. The aim of this research is to see the dynamics that happen on innovation process run by government organization by taking case study on Computer Assisted Test (CAT) based employee selection system in National Civil Service Agency. The data are gathered through deep-interview to five research respondents by using qualitative approach. The results show that there are three main dimensions in the development proses of CAT system innovation: building the base of organization knowledge, designing innovation system, and developing system of continuity. The dimension of developing continuity system has become the unique characteristic in this study in comparison with the other results in regard to the process and innovation steps. Innovation in CAT system is a self-actualization of government organization to acquire and maintain its programs and authorities.

Abstract

The uncertain state of the mining industry has impacts to the declining of thedemand for the heavy equipment industry sector. One of the effort to keep the companysurvive to face the challenge is improving the quality of production. This essential effort can beachieved by enhancing work engagement. This study aims to determine the role of resilienceand organizational climate on work engagement. The hypothesis of this study was: resilienceand organizational climat simultaneously predict the work engagement. The subjects for thisresearch were 63 employees in PT. Komatsu Indonesia. The instrument in collecting the datawas a questionnaire. The result of the multiple regression shows that this study’s hypothesis isrejected. Resilience and organizational climate cannot simultaneously predict the workengagement. Resilience can significantly predict work engagement by p=0.004 (p<0.05), butorganizational climate cannot significantly predict it as seen in p=0.235 (p>0.05).

Abstract

The vulnerable conditions of Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta, to natural disastersled a lot of volunteers who want to help the survivor. Many of volunteers joined the socialcommunity or formal organization, but many of them do not belong to any social communityor organization and does not have the ability to handle the condition of natural disaster stillhelp the victims. These individuals referred as spontaneous volunteers. The aim of this studyis to determine the helping behavior conducted by spontaneous volunteers. The approachused in this study is qualitative specifically phenomenology. Data was collected by a semi-structured in-depth interview. Informants of this study consisted of three individuals, two ofthem was volunteered when the eruption of Mount Merapi occurred in 2010, and the otherone was volunteered in Banjarnegara’s landslide in 2014. Result showed that there arechanges of helping behavior from spontaneous to formal planned form of helping. There arealso several factors that encourage or inhibit their helping behavior.
