Abstract

Geopolymer is made from materials that are both natural polozan and artificial pozolan. Pozolan materials contain silica (SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3). Both of these compounds can be found as natural materials (such as metakaolin, and volcanic material), as well as waste (eg fly ash, husk ash). The potential of forest products in the form of wood in Papua, especially Manokwari Regency, is very abundant, as well as its utilization efforts. The processing or utilization of wood results in the solid waste in the form of pieces, leftovers and wood sawdust. This study aims to explain the geopolymer morphology of wood processing waste ash in Manokwari, from which it can be used as buffer material. By using SEM-EDX in the analysis, the results showed that the size of ash grain of wood processing waste was ≤100 µm (from Merbau wood or mixed wood). The elements contained in the ashes of merbau wood waste consist of O, Ca, C, Si, K, Mg, Al, Cu, Fe, and S. Meanwhile, mixed wood waste ash contains O, Ca, C, Si, K, Mg, Al, Fe, Na, and S. Wood processing waste in Manokwari Regency has the potential to be used as the basis for making geopolymer because it dominantly contains Si and Al elements.

Abstract

Estimating of nickel resource in block WN-01 PT. Karunia Alam Waigeo, West Papua aim to understand the number of metal tonnages and the direction of the resource dispersion. The study has been done with phases which are literature study, retrieval of drill data (49 bore holes), data processing with Ordinary Kriging (OK) method using GS+ version 70 software, in as much, estimating the resources by means of block method kriging and point kriging. To understand the estimation correlation of grade to composite grade the scatter diagram analysis was used. Based on scatter diagram (scatter plot) for block kriging method correlation coefficient of 0,8843 is obtained while for point kriging method is 0,8935. With the standard deviation of 0,3280, the point block kriging method has obtained 18.630,08 tons of nickel while for point kriging method with 0,4060 of the standard deviation the nickel obtained is 18.875,41 tons.

Abstract

The importance of task identification using the job safety analysis method is to detail the works based on work sequences and risks possibly arisen. Job safety analysis can be used as a first step to find out the potential accident and to make accident controls. The results show that the potential accidents can be identified based on their severity. High risk, causing physical disability to death, occurs in gravel processing work using jaw crusher, gravel hauling, concrete mixing and casting. Moderate risk, causing treatments at hospital, includes welding, repairing excavator bucket, stacking and tidying material, screening stones and sand, and cutting iron. Low risk, that can be handled with first aids, includes excavating material, loading, painting iron frame, curling and straightening iron, repairing bulldozer body, repairing bulldozer machine, repairing dump truck glass, replacing dump truck coupling, replacing dump truck tires, replacing dump truck brake, repairing dump truck bucket, repairing excavator engine, repairing excavator crawler, and repairing engine of concrete pump trucks. In addition, PT. Pulau Lemon has not properly implemented the use of personal protective equipment and work protective equipment for their worker, therefore it is still needed to do some required improvement.

Abstract

PT. Freeport Indonesia is one of the mining company that process the copper and gold ore. One type of ore processed in this company is Super Grade Ore (SGO). The characteristics of SGO are wet and smooth, which can result some problems in transportation. Therefore, it is necessary to do blending process using material from Kokonao stockpile which tends to be drier and rougher, but has the lower grade than Cut of Grade of company. Applying experimental method, this research aims to figure out effects of the addition of Kokonao material in the blending process with SGO on concentrate grade and metal recovery resulted. Overall, the levels of Cu and Au reduce when the Kokonao material added at each various composition, with the lowest Cu grade is 100% Kokonao (1,97%) and the highest Cu grade is 10% Kokonao (25,69%). Meanwhile, the lowest Au grade is 100% Kokonao portion (3,26 ppm) and the highest Au grade is 20% Kokonao (38,16 ppm). In addition, All various compositions result in Cu recovery that is higher than the company standard (>80%). The highest Cu recovery is resulted by 50% Kokonao composition (97,12%).

Abstract

Data and information on mineral and energy resources have a very important role in supporting of the regional development and business activities in the mining sector nationally. One of the locations of coal sources is in the Sorong Regency Area, specifically at the “M” and “N” Districts. For this reason, an initial exploration activity is needed in the form of a review survey to find the availability, distribution and quality of coal in both districts. As part of the inventory and information on coal resource data for regional governments in managing and utilizing sustainable regional development in Sorong and West Papua Province in general, the data are important. The coal sources is located at the Klasaman Formation in “M” District and the Sele Conglomerate Formation in “N” District. In “M” District the thickness of the coal on the surface is quite thick, ranging from ± 45 - 110 cm with the direction of the southwest and southeast while the Coal Outcrop in the District of “N” has a thickness of 60-100 cm on the surface with north-eastward direction. Based on the results of the Proximate Analysis it was concluded that the quality of coal in the “M” District was included in the "C" subbituminous rank while the coal in “N” District was in the Lignite "A" rank.

Abstract

The recent increased development indirectly has an implication to the increase of the need of gravel materials. Thus, management efforts should be importantly implemented in mining operations, particularly Andesite. To run a new mining operation, an analysis regarding finance planning would be needed in order to determine the minimum selling price, so that the company was avoided from losses. The calculation method used to determine the selling price is Break Even Point and Net Annual Value. Break Even Point is a point or a condition where a company does not make profit and does not suffer losses. In other words, in that situation, the profit and the losses are zero. Meanwhile, Net Annual Value is used to calculate the amount of money that is the same value each year (during the life of the project) in which the value is equivalent to money value throughout the life of the project, at certain rate of return on capital (ith). According to the calculation, the Break Even Point of the operation is Rp. 19,898,009,014 (capital cost). The minimum selling price of andesite is Rp. 411,964.88/m3. Whereas, using Net Annual Value at 12.75% interest rate, the selling price of Andesite would be Rp. 284,224.15/m3 throughout 14 years of the operation.

Abstract

Coal leaching by using mine acid water and solution Mg2+ can reduce the levels of ash and alkali to its needs grade. Thus demonstrates the ongoing leaching process of ion exchange between the ions contained in coal with ions contained in the solution. Coal can acted as ion exchanger due to its hollow structure that could contained alkali and earth-alkali ions in its cavities. Thus the alkali ions can be exchanged with other ions in solution. Coal have more adsorption affinity to divalent alkali ion such as Mg2+ and Mn2+ compare to monovalent alkali ion such as Na+. For ion with the same charge the ion with smaller volume would be prefer due to the relaxation of matrix contraction within the exchange. The first phase leaching conducted to understand the Na content level trend on coal by comparison to Na solution content. The procedure of the study is as follow: first coal is leached with mine acid water, second the pulp drained and count the Na, Mg, Mn content, and third make the graph using the calculation.

Abstract

The importance of analysing the relationship between the existence of PT. SPCI and the socioeconomic condition of the Maruni village community is to determine how close the relationship between PT. SPCI and the Maruni village community. It turns out that after analysing the results it shows that there is a fairly positive relationship between the existence of PT. SPCI and the basic livelihoods of the community and employment. Meanwhile, there has no association between the presence of PT. SPCI and job opportunities among the villagers.

Abstract

Drilling and blasting activities in PT. Semen Bosowa Maros quarry aims to dismantling limestones of the host rock with fragmentation expected size of ≤100 cm, considered the maximum size of rock crusher receive opening. The drilling pattern used is staggered pattern, while blasting pattern used is blasting streak pattern, with ignition of one line and straight lines of the one between next line. Based on observations in the field, the boulder that came from the blasting activities are relatively high at 20.63 %. To reduce the resulting chunks of the rock blasting activity, it’s important to change the geometry of blasting base formulation expressed by R. L. Ash, thus changes the distance to 3.1 m; spacing to 3.7 m; stemming height to 3.14 m; bench height to 5.80 m and depth of blasting hole to 6.10 m. With the new blasting geometry, lump sized rocks >100 cm generated from operating activities actual blasting theoretical calculations amounting only 14.82 %.

Abstract

PT. Cipta Jaya Mulia, as a company that has a mining business scope, seeks to increase its production activities. One strategy applied in order to plan additional area of gravel processing location is mapping using drone technology. Mapping using drone can shorten the time of mapping, where this mapping lasts for 80 minutes covering the area mapped by 5 ha with the altitude of flying drones 50 meters above ground level. Drones produce raster data in the form of photos (jpg files) of 1448 photos. The data is then processed using the Agisoft Photoscan software. The unified photos can then be reprocessed in other mapping software like ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and AutoCAD. The mapping results will be used to plan the addition of the gravel processing area of PT. Jaya Jaya Mulia.
