Abstract

Conversion of agricultural land is rife in agricultural countries like Indonesia, especially in areas bordering cities. Transfer of agricultural land functions is inevitable because of the welfare of farmers who are still neglected. This study aims to determine 1) the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural 2) determine the impact of the conversion of agricultural land. The research method used is descriptive analytic method. The data used is secondary data from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency and the Land Agency. The data analysis method uses the net land conversion method. The data used is time series data. The location selection is purposive sampling based on the area bordering urban areas, namely Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency. Based on the results and discussion above, it can be concluded that the net land conversion is still negative in Grogol District, which means that the area of converted agricultural land is greater than the new paddy field mold. The positive impacts generated such as the availability of residential land for the community, the availability of new housing with relatively cool air, the existence of even distribution of the population and the development of the potential of the area that was previously minimal population. However, the negative impacts caused are more crucial, such as the reduction of food resources and water reserves, the change in the profession of the community, which initially farmers became factory workers, service sectors and others, reduced ecosystems and began to contaminate land, water and air from the activities of surrounding communities.  Keywords: Agraris, Conversion, Land, Agriculture Impact

Abstract

Cocoa is a strategic commodity for plantation in Indonesia. However, pest and disease infections are inevitably common constrains for the cocoa cultivators. Cocoa mosaic disease is one of disease which is cause cocoa trees suffering. Pseudomonas fluorescens are obligate aerobic bacteria that are very valuable for agricultural technology. The bacteria also protect plants from pathogens infection by producing secondary metabolites that kill bacteria and other fungi. The bacteria can use as safe and environmentally friendly biological control agents. This study aims to determine P. fluorescens liquid fertilizer formulation and its effectiveness in suppressing mosaic disease in cocoa plants. The research method was carried out by making a liquid formula from P. fluorescens and then applying it to cocoa plants that were attacked by mosaic disease. Bacteria isolates grown in conch broth medium were incubated for 3 days. Then the fertilizer formula was applied to mosaic symptomatic cocoa plants with fertilizer concentrations of 25%, 50% and 75% compared to spraying using chemical insecticides. The results showed that the liquid formula concentration of 75% can suppress the most effective mosaic symptoms and the optimal growth of cocoa plants for 7 treatments..  Keywords: Cocoa, Formulation, mosaic disease, Pseudomonas fluorescens

Abstract

The research was carried out to determne the best concentration of kinetin and activated charcoal to stimulate the shoot growth of Ambon Nangka banana cultivar. This research used a Completely Randomised Design (CRD) arranged factorials. The first factor was the concentration of kinetin with 4 levels i.e. 15 µM, 20 µM, 25 µM and 30 µM. The second factor was the concentration of activated charcoal with 4 levels i.e. 0 gL-1; 1 gL-1; 2 gL-1; and 3 gL-1. Each treatment combination was repeated 3 times, which resulted in 48 experimental units. The parameters measured were the shoot emergence time, number of shoots, shoot length, number of roots and root length. The data were analyzed using an analysis of variance at 95% and 99% level of confidences. The research results showed that the interaction between kinetin and activated charcoal had no effect on shoot length of Ambon Nangka banana cultivar. It was also found that the addition of 20 µM kinetin without any added activated charcoal resulted in the highest shoot number of Ambon Nangka banana cultivar. Keywords: Ambon Nangka, kinetin, activated charcoal

Abstract

Internet comes with a new possibilities, for agriculture, it can create a new stream of information about anything, whether it is about price of the crops, weather forecast, or in the next level, sharing and talking about innovation. Hence, despite the benefit of the internet, many of agricultural people didn’t make use of it to the fullest. This occur not just because their lack of knowledge about the internet itself, but also their lack capacity to know what best and what do they need about using the internet for their agriculuture. This research using literature review comunication in development paradigm modernization (top down) and alternative (bottom up) with descriptive methods. The result in this article reveal both of the paradigms can be used in certain condition depends of the capacity of agricultural people that involved in. In modernization paradigm, must include inisiator to boost people knowledge for internet, but in alternative paradigm, the inisiator didn’t have to much involve. So whether both of these type development communication used, it all depends on the capacity of the agricultural people on percieving the problems, or in this case the internet..  Keywords: Development, Communication, Internet, Agriculture, Agricultural Development

Abstract

Ecologically Invasive Aliens Species (IAS) poses a particular threat to the conservation area that is a biodiversity sanctuary, Baturraden Botanical Garden (KRB). The purpose of this research is to find out the composition of IAS in KRB. This method of research is a survey method with purposive random sampling. Observation and prosecution is done by dividing krb into 10 plots. Information on the introduction process as well as conservation strategy recommendations is obtained through library studies and interviews with resouce person. The data then analyzed using the Importance Value Index (INP). The results showed that the IAS introduction process began in 1952 through the utilization of Protected Forest (HL) and Limited Production Forest (HPT) in KRB; The vegetation community structure in the KRB is dominated by spikes (saplings), seedlings, trees and poles. There were 13 IAS species consisting of 9 families; Seedling and saplings Calliandra houstoniana var. calothyrsus (Meissner) Barneby and Agathis dammara (Lamb). Rich. while at Agathis dammara (Lamb) tree level. Rich. and Schima wallichii Choisy. potential as a special IAS in the KRB; Controlling can be done through mitigation, periodic maintenance and eradication. In situ and ex situ conservation strategy plans in KRB are the creation of forest pharmacy conservation villages.  Keywords: Baturraden Botanical Garden , biodiversity, Invasive Aliens Spesies (IAS)

Abstract

The energy intake consumed by a person will affect the health of each individual. The energy adequacy figure for household consumption is also used as a reference for the value of family food security. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the energy adequacy rate of farmer households in Klaten Regency. The location of the research was carried out deliberately in Klaten Regency because this area is a rice producer in Central Java. The samples used were farmers in the independent food village of Klaten Regency. This research uses descriptive analytical method with multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there are four variables that influence the energy adequacy rate, namely the education of the head of the farmer household, rice consumption, consumption of tempe and nutritional knowledge by the farm-housewife.Keywords: Consumption, Energy Adequacy Rate, Farmers
