The statement of problem from this research are (1) How is the students’ English achievement of eighth grade at MtsN Aryojeding (2) How is parental guidance of eighth grade at MtsN Aryojeding (3) Is there any correlation between the students’ English achievement and the parental guidance of eighth grade at MtsN Aryojeding, the objectives of this research is know whether or not there is correlation between the students’ English achievement and parental guidance. The research using quantitative approach of which the data obtained from students’ final test and parental guidance questionnaire, then this test result was analyzed using Pearson Product Moment formula in SPSS 16.0 for windows version to find the correlation. The finding of coefficient correlation of research is 0.79, the level of correlation is “strong”. The researcher concluded that comparison that is used as a relationship with the right direction is done by the parents will provide an increase in the students’ English achievement. The students should be improved the learning achievement and students need to understand how effective learning in school and at home. The parents should be able to further enhance the learning guidance to their children through encouragement and constructive guidance, complementary facilities and infrastructure. And it is suggested that the study will be useful for the future researcher as the reference to make a further research especially about students’ English achievement and parental guidance

Abstract

Technology integration in education has been a topic of interest for many years. Among those technologies, chatbots have been used in many educational settings. However, the impact of chatbots on students' engagement and critical thinking in different learning contexts has not been fully explored. This study aimed to investigate the impact of chatbots in different learning contexts on student engagement and critical thinking. A literature review was conducted to examine the previous studies on using chatbots in different learning contexts and relevant theoretical frameworks on student engagement and critical thinking in online and blended learning contexts. This study's results revealed that chatbots could improve students' engagement in different learning contexts and support the development of critical thinking skills. However, the design and features of chatbots should be aligned with the learning context to achieve optimal results. This study fills a gap in the literature by providing insight into how chatbot-mediated instruction may vary in different learning contexts and its possible impact on student engagement and critical thinking. The findings of this study have implications for chatbot design and instruction in different learning contexts, and it could be considered a valuable reference for educators, instructional designers, and researchers.

Abstract

The diversity in the process of learning language is wonderful, especially the diversity between males and female student on their understanding in learning English as foreign language which is relate to their language learning competence. In this case the language learning abilities are biased by gender which affected their learning output. Hypothetically, there must be relations between the gender identity and learning ability toward English learning output. To verify the hypothesis, the authors begin with the formulation of collective data collection that collected from the student`s English written text products from the secondary school which targeted high school students, then the data will be analyzed with systemic functional linguistics and feminist stylistics approach to understand the gender bias on the texts construction and to investigating the structural choice of language. The data analysis also elaborates with language learning theory to support the evidence and to verify the hypothesis. This research is designed for the development of language learning especially in English as foreign language. The development is addressed the future researchers and language teachers to develop the theory and to arrange the language learning strategies for better future of language education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of blended learning on the results of learning English in PJKR study program. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental. The quasi-experimental method is different from the actual experiment. In the quasi-experimental method, it has a control group. The sampling technique used in this research is cluster sample or called group sample. Data collection is the most important part of research. Effective and complete data determine the quality of researchers. In this study the authors used the learning achievement test technique, test, observation and documentation. Based on the results of the research that had been done, the size of the concentration and distribution of the pretest result data for the experimental group were: the largest score was 75 and the smallest score was 36, the mean (mean) was 51.67 , the median is 52, the mode is 40.5 and the standard deviation is 11.91. While the posttest data results, the highest score was 91 and the lowest score was 45, the mean (mean) was 72.8, the median was 76.9, the mode was 77.6 and the standard deviation was 15.58. So, the objectives to be achieved in the learning design have been implemented for that, the blended learning model is able to influence student learning outcomes in English.
