Abstract

ABSTRACTThe existence of internet facilities that have been provided by the Universitas pembinaan masyarakat indonesia can support the improvement of the learning system by utilizing these internet facilities, as well as responding to the challenges of the industrial revolution era in Indonesian community development universities. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the effect of using web-based learning methods by not using these methods on student test scores (2) to develop a practical and effective learning system. The research method used is quantitative with an experimental approach. Where students majoring in English education as a research subject. The method is applied for one semester. The results of the determination were obtained from the pre-test and post-test results by filling in the provided google form and analyzing the results of the scores of the two tests using the SPSS application to obtain independent samples T-test. From the analysis, it was obtained that the sig (2-tailed) value was .000 where from the basis of the decision making, if the sig. (2-tailed) value <0.05, then there was a significant difference between the results of the pretest and postest scores. The pretest value, namely before using web-based learning methods and posttest, namely after using web-based learning methods carried out on 27 English education students, it can be seen that there is an increase in the test result score of each student. So that web-based learning methods can be used as an alternative in improving the quality of English learning at Universitas pembinaan masyarakat indonesia. Keywords: e-learning, web, EnglishABSTRAKAdanya fasilitas internet yang telah disediakan universitas pembinaan masyarakat indonesia dapat mendukung peningkatan sistem pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan fasilitas internet tersebut, sekaligus menjawab tantangan era revolusi industri di universitas pembinaan masyarakat indonesia. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran berbasis web dengan tidak menggunakan metode tersebut terhadap nilai uji mahasiswa (2) mengembangkan sistem pembelajaran yang praktis dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimental. Dimana mahasiswa/mahasiswi jurusan pendidikan bahasa inggris sebagai subjek penelitian. Penerapan metode tersebut dilakukan selama satu semester. Hasil penetian diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test melalui pengisian google form yang telah disediakan dan menganalisis hasil nilai dari kedua pengujian tersebut dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS untuk memperoleh independent samples T-test. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar .000 dimana dari dasar pengambilan keputusan jika nilai sig.(2-tailed) < 0,05, maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil nilai pretest dan postest. Nilai pretest yaitu sebelum menggunakan metode pembelajaran berbasis web dan postest yaitu setelah menggunakan metode pembelajaran berbasis web yang dilakukan pada 27 mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa inggris dapat dilihat adanya peningkatan nilai hasil tes setiap mahasiswa. Sehingga metode pembelajaran berbasis web dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa inggris di universitas pembinaan masyarakat indonesia. Kata kunci: E-learning, web, bahasa inggris

Abstract

The innovative strategies and teaching media during the past few decades are always updating to increase the learners’ language skills especially literacy skill. Application of digital technology-based learning media is not only to maximize their language skills in both face-to-face and distance learning but also their interest and self- efficacy. The study aimed to find out whether the media digital storytelling significantly affects the students’ reading skill and self-efficacy. The study was conducted by experimental research with a quantitative approach. Fifty students of English Education Department at Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia participated in the study as the experimental (n=25) and the control (n=25). The data collection instrument was carried out by observation, questionnaires, and reading test. This study analysis method was descriptive statistics. The finding of the study revealed that digital media storytelling significantly affects the reading skills and self-efficacy of English Education Department students at Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia. By finding these suitable results, this media further can be applied to improve other language skills and also in other majors.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media huru ball terhadap membaca anak usia dini. penelitian yang menggunakan Pre-Experimental Designs Bentuk desain yang digunakan adalah One-Grouppretest-Posttest Design, dalam penelitian ini terdapat kelompok yang diberi perlakuan, kemudian bermaksud untuk membandingkan keadaan sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan observasi dan pengumpulan data. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak TK TA'DIBiyah Kec. Patumbak berjumlah 30 anak usia 5-6 tahun yang terdiri dari 19 laki-laki dan 11 perempuan. bahwa melalui kegiatan Media Surat Bola dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan membaca anak usia dini usia 5-6 tahun di TK Ta'dibiyah dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran sebelum adanya kegiatan Media Surat Bola. Dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca anak usia dini, pembelajaran yang menarik dapat diberikan melalui Media Letter Ball kepada anak. Media Bola Huruf dinilai sesuai, menarik dan menyenangkan sesuai dengan karakter anak usia dini.

Abstract

Addressing the issue of the dynamics of social media as tool for learning, the present study aims at investigating the perception of English language learners  towards  the use of social media  in  the  teaching learning activities especially for reading classroom. By using qualitative  research,  this  study  focuses on  learner’s perceptions towards social media assisted for language  learning  (SMALL) in reading classroom.  A total of   72 English language education learners  at  Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia participated in this study  through 5 point Likert scale survey  and interview. As the result, social media got positive perceptions from the learners. The dominant social media platform used was Instagram then following Youtube, Tiktok and Whatsapp. These learners believed that social media could be used as a tool for language learning that enhance  learners'  language skills especially reading and  engage  them  better  with lecturers and classmates in learning activities.

Abstract

The difficulty of students in speaking in English is a problem that must be solved. So this is the background for doing this research. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the brainstorming method in students' speaking learning and to find out whether students are interested in learning with this method. The subjects in this study were students of the first grade of SMA Unggulan Ummu Rahmah for the academic year 2020/2021, totaling 30 students. This study used two classes, namely class X-1 as the experimental class and class X-2 as the control class. This study uses quantitative methods conducted by experimental research. Researchers used two instruments. There are tests carried out including pre-test, post-test and interviews. Based on the results of data processing, the results can be concluded that there is a significant increase, namely the post-test average value is higher than the pre-test (74.3>55) and (51.6>63.3). From the results of the data that has changed, it can be concluded that students have increased in learning by using the brainstorming method. And the results of interviews conducted with English teachers prove that this method is effective for students. The reliability of the research in this study showed the number 4.8. And this belongs to the good category and it can be said that this research is valid and significant

Abstract

Self-efficacy plays an influential role in iniating any action  including reading especially in online learning. Reading comprehension, along with all other language skills, has become a big concern in ELT, while self-efficacy is a pyschological aspect that affect the learners’ success in mastering the skill. In this regard, this study attempts to find out whether EFL learners’ self-efficacy affects the learners’ reading comprehension in Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia. The study applied correctional study with quantitative design. Participants in this study were 50 learners of English Education Department. A self-efficacy questionnaire (SEQ) and reading comprehension test were applied to the participants as parts of the correlational research model. The collected quantitative data were analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The finding shows that the result of r-calculation for learners’ self-efficacy and their reading score is .765. The score of significance level is < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) which means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. This score indicates that there is a positive correlation between the two variables.

Abstract

The students of the eighth grade at SMP Swasta Al-Mukmin had difficulty in understanding the text which caused them could not find the main essence of the text. Thus, this research was conducted to know the effect of mind mapping on students’ ability in reading comprehension. This research was conducted using a quantitative quasi experimental design. The sample was divided into two groups, namely experimental group and control group which consisted of 35 students for each. This research used pre-test and post-test in the form of reading comprehension test as the research instrument. The research result concluded that the students who were taught by mind mapping had a better reading comprehension. The data analysis showed the pre-test mean score of experimental group was 55.4 while the control group was 54.5 and the score was increased after applying mind mapping. The post-test mean score of experimental group was 77.7 and 69.5 for control group. The value of mean score of both groups was calculated using T-test. It was obtained the value of T-count was 3.96 while T-table was 1.66 under the degree of freedom 68 and the degree of significance 5%. Since T-count value was higher than T-table value, the hypotheses were proved. Therefore, it is stated that Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted and Ho (null hypothesis) was rejected. Based on this research result, it is suggested that the English teachers apply the mind mapping technique since this technique is one of many ways teachers can apply to enhance students reading comprehension of texts easily and efficiently.

Abstract

Keterampilan literasi menjadi pilar penting untuk masa depan pendidikan. Untuk itu membangun budaya literasi perlu melibatkan peran aktif secara bersama-sama khususnya di lingkungan pendidikan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa di pesantren. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah berupa pelatihan atau training. Pelatihan literasi ditujukan kepada siswa-siswi Pesantren Darussalam Guntur Batubara yang terdiri dari siswa tingkat SMP. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan yaitu dengan pelatihan membaca, pelatihan menulis, dan praktik. Dari hasil pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan wawancara, diketahui bahwa kegiatan pelatihan literasi memberi pengaruh positif terhadap kesadaran literasi bagi siswa khususnya di lingkungan pesantren. Dampak yang diharapkan dari kegiatan tersebut adalah meningkatnya motivasi membaca siswa dengan memanfaatkan pojok literasi, serta meningkatnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan meringkas.Kata Kunci: pelatihan, peningkatan, literasi, pesantren

Abstract

Dikawasan wisata bukit lawang memilki potensi untuk pengembangan pariwisata yang lebih baik lagi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan PAD dan kesejahteraan masyarakatnya. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memberikan masukan kepada pengelola wisata dan masyarakat tentang peluang bisnis yang dapat dikembangkan di kawasan wisata bukit lawang kabupaten langakat sumatera utara. Hasil kegiatan PKM: Kawasan wisata bukit lawang sudah lama dikenal dan terus berkembang dan memilki potensi untuk dikembangkan kepada yang lebih baik lagi, oleh karenanya pelaksana PKM manyarankan melalui kegiatan PKM untuk mengembangkan peluang bsinis melalui konsep 3A yaitu 1) Atraksi yaitu seni, budaya, warisan sejarah, tradisi, kekayaan alam, atau hiburan, yang merupakan daya tarik wisatawan di daerah tujuan wisata. 2) Amenitas memiliki arti yaitu fasilitas, seperti toilet umum, tempat beribadah, area parkir tapi tidak hanya dari segi kuantitas, namun kualitas dari ketersediaan amenitas juga penting untuk diperhatikan serta disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan. 3) Aksesibilitas adalah semua jenis sarana dan prasarana transportasi yang mendukung pergerakan wisatawan dari wilayah asal wisatawan ke destinasi pariwisata maupun pergerakan di dalam wilayah destinasi pariwisata dalam kaitan dengan motivasi kunjungan wisata. Pembangunan aksesibilitas pariwisata dapat meliputi:Penyediaan dan pengembangan sarana transportasi angkutan jalan, sungai, danau dan penyeberangan, angkutan laut, angkutan udara, dan lain lain disesuaikan kondisi, lokasi dan kebutuhan tempat wisata tersebut. Saran: Konsep 3A yang disarankan dan sudah ada yang dilaksanakan oleh penglola dan masyarakat selanjutnya dievaluasi dan dilakukan penyesuaian dengan perkembangan kebutuhan wisata. Diharapkan pula peran aktif pemerintah setempat untuk dapat memonitoring dan melakukan evaluasi tersebut untuk selanjutnya dapat ditindak lanjuti pada pengembangan dan perbaikan kepada yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci : Analisis; Interaksi; Bisnbis; Kawasan Wisata.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of blended learning on the results of learning English in PJKR study program. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental. The quasi-experimental method is different from the actual experiment. In the quasi-experimental method, it has a control group. The sampling technique used in this research is cluster sample or called group sample. Data collection is the most important part of research. Effective and complete data determine the quality of researchers. In this study the authors used the learning achievement test technique, test, observation and documentation. Based on the results of the research that had been done, the size of the concentration and distribution of the pretest result data for the experimental group were: the largest score was 75 and the smallest score was 36, the mean (mean) was 51.67 , the median is 52, the mode is 40.5 and the standard deviation is 11.91. While the posttest data results, the highest score was 91 and the lowest score was 45, the mean (mean) was 72.8, the median was 76.9, the mode was 77.6 and the standard deviation was 15.58. So, the objectives to be achieved in the learning design have been implemented for that, the blended learning model is able to influence student learning outcomes in English.
