Abstract

The purposed of this study was to determine the level of implementation of the task of assisting fisheries instructors in fostering farmers in Muara Jawa District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research was conducted in Muara Jawa District for 9 months starting in February - October 2019. The collection of primary data in this study was conducted by observation and direct interviews with respondents using a questionnaire. Secondary data in the form of documents that support research carried out by means of literature study. Determination of the sample using Purposive Sampling and Systematic Sampling methods with total sample of 57 fish farmers. Data is presented in tabular form and processed in quantitative descriptive manner, each question is given a score based on the Likert Scale. The results showed that the level of implementation of the task of extension fisheries instructors in Muara Jawa District Kutai Kartanegara Regency was included in the high category with a score of 75.49, in the range of 70.1 - 90.0, which means the task of assisting fisheries instructors in Muara Jawa District had been running well. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the characteristics of fishermen and forms of local wisdom practiced by the fishing community of the Bugis tribe in Muara Badak Ilir Village. The study was conducted for 7 months. The sampling method used in this study was a purposive sampling method with 7 respondents. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study illustrate that the fishing communities of Muara Badak Ilir Village are predominantly Bugis ethnicity, graduated from elementary school level, are Muslim, range in age from 50 to 70 years, and are generally small scale fishermen. Some local wisdom regarding Utilization of Fisheries Resources can be seen from (1) Abstinence and Belief: Beach Party (mappanre tasi), saying goodbye before catching, abstinence of reprimanding or greeting fishermen who will go to sea, returning home if there is something left to take to sea, not go to sea on Friday and don't go to sea when someone dies (2) Ethics and Rules: There are rules about prohibiting littering at sea, cutting mangrove trees freely (3). Engineering and Technology: take into account the condition of the sea with natural signs, the use of traditional or environmentally friendly fishing gear, the fisherman's departure time (4). Selective in choosing the type of catch, do not take catches such as turtles, diversification of fishery processing. Abstract

This research aims to: (1) analyze the effect of factors selling price, profit and business duration to marketing channel choice and (2) identify main problems facing in the local fish cracker or ‘amplang’ product in Sanga-Sanga District. Research method applied in this research was survey method and field observation with census approach as sampling technique and interviews. Data were analyzed by both qualitative and quantitative approach with the number of respondents were 11 people those distributed within five districts. Results showed that based on the likelihood ratio test or simultaneous test it was known selling price and profit variables significantly affect to producers’ choice of to choose amplang industry marketing channel (α=5%) meanwhile years of bussiness does not affect it. In addition, according to logistic multinomial regression it was seen that selling price, profit and years of business do not affect partially to marketing channel of amplang product both in the logit equation 1 and the equation 2. Main problems identified in amplang product marketing performance were raw material supply, labor force limitation, the implementation of P-IRT and halal label, and the product promotion discontinuity. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how people's perceptions to gender roles in families, to describe the division of labor in productive, reproductive, and social activities, to examine how the opportunities of access and control that men and women, to examine how the opportunities of decision-making that men and women have in the seaweed cultivation business. The sample in this research amounted to 30 families of seaweed cultivators with the criteria of a married couple using a qualitative approach, which was obtained by interview using a questionnaire and direct observation data which obtained by analyzed descriptively. The result of this research indicate that: (1) Perceptions of gender that are most highly held by both men and women are "men and women realize that gender differences do not have to be opposed in living a family, but rather be mutually supportive and complementary". (2) The division of labor regarding to the activities of productive is more dominantly done by men while the activities of reproductive are more dominantly done by women. (3) Access in terms of family resources can be accessed by men and women, while in control pattern it spreads between men and women. (4) Decision-making in activities of productive is more dominated by men, but in the social sector decision-making patterns are made together between men and women. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the type of information needed by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village and determine the type of media used by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village. The entire study was carried out for 14 months. This research is a research that uses survey research methods (survey method). By taking 40 respondents using disproportional stratified random sampling in a community that is active, open and has been in contact with people or institutions outside their environment, the data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive by describing the data state data of fishermen community objects in Muara Pantuan Village. The results showed that the type of information needed by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village was aquaculture technology and capture fisheries technology, while the type of media used by the fishing community in Muara Pantuan Village was interpersonal media and electronic media. Interpersonal media in the form of communication between fellow fishermen is the most commonly used media in the Muara Pantuan Village, while the electronic media most frequently used is a mobile telephone in the form of wireless communication that connects the community in Muara Pantuan Village with the community outside the Muara Pantuan Village. Abstract

This research is aimed to Analyze The Impact Of Income, Price, And Number Of Family Members On Demand For Sea Fish In Kuala Samboja Village In District Samboja both simultaneously and partially and to know the independent variable which was the most dominant among income, price, and number of family members. The research was conducted in Kuala Samboja Village In District Samboja. The sample of this research are misters and mistresses who live in Kuala Samboja Village. The number of samples are 30 people which then the researcher use Systematic Random Sampling. The result of this research shows that on simultan way independent variables (X1, X2, X3) have a significant impact on dependent variable (Y), while on partial way variable of fish's price (X2) has a significant impact on dependent variable (Y). The most dominant variable among 3 (three) independent variables (X1, X2, X3) is fish's price factor which is shown by the value of ß standardized coefficients that has the greatest value. Abstract

The purpose of this research is examine the counseling methods used by Fisheries Instructors in Delivering Information to Fish Farmers in districts Tenggarong Seberang. The sampling method used was the Purposive Sampling method with a total of 10 person. Data analysis method used is Interactive analysis method with the analysis model of data collection, data condensation, display data and conclusion. The results of this study showed that there are two methods used by fisheries instructors in providing information to fish farmers in Tenggarong Seberang, namely the method of individual approach and group approach. Methods that include individual approaches are individual method while methods included in the group approach are demonstration methods and lectures.Keywords: Counseling Methods, Fish Cultivators Group, districts Tenggarong Seberang.

Abstract

Derawan Island is one of Indonesia's tourist attractions located in Berau Regency. Derawan Island as a tourist destination must continue to improve itself in an effort to attract tourists to come for a tour by paying attention to the level of tourist satisfaction which is one of the benchmarks for the success of a tourist object. Many factors can affect the level of tourist satisfaction, among which the authors take as the independent variables of the study are: Transportation, Security, and Services, and as the dependent variable is The Level of Satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the influence of transportation, security, and service factors on the satisfaction level of tourists from Derawan Island, Berau Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive study conducted by survey. The sampling method used was the Accidental Sampling method with 30 respondents, namely domestic tourists visiting Derawan Island attractions. Data collection techniques used interviews, and observations, data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis methods. The results showed that there was an influence of transportation and service factors on the satisfaction level of Derawan Island tourism objects with a sigma value <α (0.05). Abstract

Fishermen's income is uncertain and depends heavily on the catch obtained at the time of production of the catch.The research was conducted for analyze of the influence factor of capital, fishing gear, time of seafaring, and weather of income fisherman in Tanjung Sembilang, Samboja Subdistrict, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Kind of research data used i.e. quantitative data with primary data source by interview using questionnaires. Variable independent of research is fishing gear (X1), capital (X2), time of seafaring (X3), and weather (X4), variable dependent is income fisherman (Y). Method of analysis using analysis multiple regression, test of hypotesis, determination, and test of classic assume by using SPSS 16.0 for windows programe. The result simultaneously indicates that factor of fishing gear, capital, time of seafaring, and weather significant depends of income fisherman. Partially indicates that factor time of seafaring (1.354) and weather (-0.743) not significant depends of income fisherman, but factor of fishing gear (4.239) and factor of capital (2.518) has a significant depends of income fisherman. The highest dependent significant of income fisherman in Tanjung Sembilang, Samboja Subdistrict, Kutai Kartanegara Regency i.e. factor of fishing gear with a test-t value of 4.239 > 2.014.

Abstract

This study aimed at knowing the effectiveness of community outreach conducted by LSM Jaringan Nelayan/JALA (CSO of Fishermen’s Network) about managing mangroves on homemaker in Tanjung Batu Village, Pulau Derawan Sub-district, Berau Regency. The primary data collection was conducted in March 2020 in Tanjung Batu Village, Pulau Derawan Sub-district, Berau Regency; the primary data collection through the interview was done using the list of questions arranged based on the study objective. The sampling method referred to the census method with a total sample of 15 homemakers taken during the training on mangroves, and they were interviewed as the respondents. The result showed that the indicators of clarity for the objective, analysis process and policy formulation, careful planning, and the program arrangement were in the moderate category, while the indicators of clarity for the strategy, the availability of facilities and infrastructures, effective implementation, and supervision and control system were in the high category. The effectiveness level of the community outreach in achieving the goals in Tanjung Batu Village was entirely in the high category with a mean score of 62.38 at the estimated value of 58-72.
