Abstract

Within this study, we want to examine factors those determine to the rise of womenpreneurship, since it is one of the most important 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to eradicate national poverty as well as to support the innovation and ever-growing economy. The increasing of women's participation in entrepreneurs demonstrated positive impact of female entrepreneurs, not only on the family but also on economic growth and development. We build our theoretical framework based on literature surveys; that factors of an inspiring role model, education on digital skills, and financial support, which taken from Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), contribute to this increasing of womenpreneurship participation. As far as we have known, we are among the first who establish the study focused on women entrepreneurs, especially among the B40 economic social class. We employ a quantitative approach of Multiple Regression Linear Analysis with a convenience sample, comprising 100 women entrepreneurs in Melaka. We find that women entrepreneurs with clear targets, would not only possess the right attitude in their entrepreneurial path, but also become the society role models at the same time. Also, when facing the social pressure, womenpreneurs will equip themselves with proper education to grasp more opportunities. Even though limited by the participation rate, especially those in the rural areas, we would like to make recommendations on ways to encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship, especially during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Abstract

In the recent time, the Internet is being used as the main source to provide us information and has been vastly exploited for our own convenience. It can be seen as a mean to provide us fun and pleasure with unlimited opportunities. Hence, online shopping is an action or activity of purchasing goods and services through the Internet. This includes people going online, logging in to a shopping website, purchasing goods and services and arranging for delivery. Besides that, the buyer either pays with credit or debit card or through third party online transfer or cash on delivery for the goods and services. The research emphasizes on factors affecting students’ perception of online shopping. It focuses on the following variables such as convenience, ease of use, usefulness, privacy and security and saves money, time and effort as the main factors in affecting a student to pursue with online purchases. The theoretical foundations for this study are Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). A total of 200 respondents from a private university in Malaysia participated in this research. Samples were selected using convenience sampling and the respondents answered the questionnaire via Google form and paper and pencil method. A nominal scale and Five-point Likert scale was used to design the questions in the questionnaire. Data analysis methods used in this research were Descriptive Analysis, Reliability Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The data collected and also information in this research are highly beneficial and valuable to students, supervisors, academics, researchers, learning institutions, business organisations and the government as we are able to gauge and understand the factors affecting students’ perception on online shopping. However, there are some limitations as this research does not reflect the actual student population in tertiary education in Malaysia and it only focuses on four variables i.e. convenience, ease of use, usefulness, privacy and security and saves money, time and effort. There are several possibilities for future researches whereby one can focus more on other influencing factors such as trust, risk, complexity, pervasive technology usage, tech savvy future generations and many more.

Abstract

Within this research, we want to study if personality traits will be the significant predictors for entrepreneurial intention. Based on our literature surveys, which showed that personality traits are found significantly linked to entrepreneurial intention in developed countries, we want to focus on four personality traits: (1). self-efficacy, (2). needs for achievement, (3). locus of control, and (4). tolerance for risk. We collected the data from total of 200 university students in Malaysia through a self-administered questionnaire, and later analyzed using SEM PLS 3.0. We found that self-efficacy, locus of control, and tolerance for risk are indeed significant predictors, even though the need for achievement is not. Comparatively, a small sample size may lead to generalization issues, self-report bias, and cross-sectional design considered the main limitations of this study. We also revealed that tolerance for risk is the most influential factor in the entrepreneurial intention among university students. Thus, our finding contributes to the scholarly literature on entrepreneurship study in Malaysia, and provides some recommendation for universities to encourage and support entrepreneurship among students.

Abstract

Women are an integral part of our society; they have to play diverse role to contribute in economy. Harmonious growth and development of any nation is possible only when women are equally participating in the development process with men. However, in most of the developing countries, the socio-economic status of women is very low. In this paper, we provide a literature review to compared the working and non-working women in household decision-making, using secondary data. We find out that woman’s decisions making power is clearly related to the context in which she lives. It is observed that decisions made by working and educated women get greater substance than the decisions taken by non-working and less educated women. However, Urban and employed women have greater awareness about their rights than rural and illiterate women. In the previous studies, most women are deprived of economic and educational roles opportunities and decision-making. Decision-making of women is controversially as low as the roles and responsibilities of each sector while their male counterparts have relatively high decision-making. Furthermore, we find out that electronic media is also playing an important role behind the women empowerment, since it provides information to women about the world issues, which encourages their self-confidence and motivates them to participate in household matters.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a means of beginning your own company. A person's target and option depend on those processes of thought. These cycles of thinking and motives either drive or drag the participant to the creative exercises. To fill the gap in the literature, this research explored the entrepreneurial traits, motives, difficulties, and obstacles faced by Ifugao citizens in the Philippines while doing business. The relationship between the above variables and the entrepreneurial aspirations of Ifugao individuals was also calculated. Data were collected from 263 Ifugao persons, both beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of the programs of various government agencies in the province using the snowball sampling process, through a research questionnaire and semi-structured interview.  Using means, the Mann-Whitney U test, and the rank order correlation of Spearman, this paper finds that considering the difficulties and obstacles they face, Ifugao individuals retain the character of becoming an entrepreneur. Overall, five traits that are common to respondents have been identified. Ifugao people stay inspired and it motivates them to persevere constantly in carrying out entrepreneurial practices. Finally, the findings of this study indicate that training, seminars, and workshops, the positive perceived image of entrepreneurs, and motives have a major impact on the entrepreneurial purpose of Ifugao people, which is important for entrepreneurial success.

Abstract

In many nations, including Indonesia, unemployment is one of the key problems. the percentage rate of unemployment in Indonesia is still relatively high compared to other countries, although it has dropped every year. Vocational High School (VHS) graduates dominate the largest number of unemployed individuals in Indonesia. Creative entrepreneurs are one option since they can build their own work. But the entrepreneurial interest of VHS students in Indonesia is still low. The objective of this research is to develop strategies for creating entrepreneurship in conjunction with the skills needed to become entrepreneurs. Primary data was gathered with eleven headmasters of VHS in Indonesia through focus group discussion (FGD) and secondary data collected from literature research. The data analysis was processed through stakeholder analysis and the house model to create an effective strategy and decision. The study results indicate that synergistic cooperation from a quadruple helix consisting of universities, entrepreneurial societies, government, and industry is required in order to achieve 'one student, one business' mission as the output. Furthermore, organizing talent management to provide the mindset as CEO for vocational students and training school principals is a way out of this issue in order to create links and match VHS student interests and providing the growth of CEO mindset training for the VHS principals. Therefore, VHS Students can establish their own company and become entrepreneurs according to their interests and ambitions, both before and after graduating from VHS.

Abstract

Recent studies underscored the different actions of the Higher Educational Institutions (HEI’s) all over the world in securing the health of the students as well as the academic personnel, and likewise in mitigating the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19. Most of HEI’s closed the schools in March 2020 and shifted their paradigm from face-to-face to distance or remote learning. Mabalacat City College (MCC) as one of the HEI’s in the Philippines resolved this concern through its innovative flexible learning. In the flexible learning of MCC, the students were given options to choose between the Hub mode (modular type) and Home mode (online class). The respondents in this action research were 310 students enrolled in the course “The Life and Works of Rizal”, wherein the 230 (74.19%) of the respondents were from the Home mode of learning and the 80 (25.81%) of the respondents were from the Hub mode of learning. The finding in this study confirmed that the students in the Home mode of learning surpassed the performance of the students who were in Hub mode of learning.
