Abstract

The obstacles that occur in microbiology learning are in the facilities because the microbiology course requires a laboratory to carry out practicums but as a result of online access to the laboratory being closed so students can only understand through material only so that only practicum guidebooks as learning media in carrying out practicum activity steps result in students not understanding. Particularly in food microbiology material, many students failed to carry out practicums in making food, one of which was in making tempe. Tempe has certain critical points in the success of its products so students must understand techniques to overcome these critical points in order to reduce failures, this can be done when we do practicum. This research will be conducted at Medan State University. The development model applied in this research is 4D. The 4D models include define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire for experts and students. The experts consist of material experts and media experts, while for students of the Stambuk 2020 biology education study program. The results of this study show that video tutorial-based learning media for food microbiology is feasible and effective, and has increased by 37.7%. The implications of this learning video are expected to help lecturers in learning microbiology.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of urban and rural backgrounds on the lifestyle choices and behavioral changes among medical students. The study addresses the question of how different backgrounds shape the students' lifestyles and behavioral patterns. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a sample of 100 medical students (50 from urban areas and 50 from rural areas). Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using a t-test to compare the differences between the two groups. The findings indicate significant variations in lifestyle choices and behavioral changes between urban and rural medical students, with rural students exhibiting higher levels of consumerism and more pronounced behavioral shifts. The study concludes that the students' urban or rural backgrounds play a crucial role in shaping their lifestyles and behaviors, emphasizing the need for contextual considerations in educational interventions and support systems.

Abstract

In the context of Indonesia's social complexity, disparities in access to education and legal information result in marginalized communities being vulnerable to injustice. This article discusses the importance of enhancing legal awareness among marginalized communities through collaboration between government institutions, educational organizations, and civil society organizations. Legal education is identified as the primary solution to address these challenges. This collaboration yields a combination of expertise, resources, and networks that overcome the barriers to implementing legal education programs. The program elaborates legal concepts in simple language, empowers marginalized communities, and helps them understand the legal implications of their actions. Trust in the legal system is also built through this program, encouraging active participation in legal processes and enforcement.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the impact of facilitating conditions on the performance of lecturers within the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Study Program (a case study conducted at UIN Syuhada Padangsidempuan). It also considered the online-based SIAKAD variable as a moderating factor. The study specifically investigated the influence of facility variables (X1) and the online-based SIAKAD (Xm) on lecturer performance. Employing a quantitative approach with an associative perspective, the research utilized a non-probability sampling technique, encompassing a saturated sample (census), which involved all 67 lecturers. The findings indicate that facilities (X1) exhibit a significant positive impact on lecturer performance, while online-based SIAKAD (Xm) similarly positively influences lecturer performance. However, the online-based SIAKAD variable does not appear to act as a moderator, enhancing the effect of the facility variable (X1) on the lecturer performance variable (Y), as evidenced by the insignificance value of 0.631 > 0.05.
