Abstract

Balikpapan City is a city located on the shores of Balikpapan Bay which has abundant biodiversity and natural resources. The city has undergone continuous urban spatial structure changes. Starting from a fishing area, then becoming an oil and gas industrial city, continued as an urban support for the New State Capital. This study aims to find the spatial structure pattern of the city of Balikpapan using the morphological approach of the city of Balikpapan. The method used is a historical approach from the study of past literature and Analysis of the Geographic Information System of the city of Balikpapan. This study found that the linear shape of the city follows the waterfront of the Balikpapan bay, the morphology of the city structure is oriented to the economic center, namely the Pertamina refinery, and the visual morphology of the city of Balikpapan does not have special landmarks other than the Islamic center mosque, sport center dome, and Balikpapan stadium.

Abstract

Gedung Museum Kota Makassar merupakan warisan cagar budaya di Kota Makassar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Bangunan ini memiliki ciri-ciri berbagai pendekatan arsitektur yang berbeda beda dalam perancangannya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tipologi arsitektur bangunan Gedung Museum Kota Makassar pada tipologi karakter bahan, tipologi fasad, tipologi bentuk ruang dan tipologi adaptasi cuaca. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Museum Kota Makassar memiliki konsep Garden City pada penataan ruang bangunan,kemudian memiliki nilai-nilai konsep Arsitektur Tropis pada tipologi adaptasi cuaca, kemudian, mengadopsi Arsitektur Neo Klasik,Arsitektur Rennaisance dan Arsitektur Gotik pada rancangannya tipologi fasad dan bahan.

Abstract

The temperature of the earth's surface is changing due to the problem of climate change. Air temperature can affect the level of human comfort in carrying out daily activities. This study aims to assess the thermal comfort of the city of Balikpapan based on the factors of air temperature, humidity and wind speed taken from data for a week. The analytical tool in this study is to use the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV method) to assess the level of the thermal comfort scale based on the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 55-66. 00.00 is Cold with a score (-3), at Cold Score (-3), at 12.00 slightly warm score (1), and at 18.00 a neutral score (0). This requires architectural design through a thermal comfort approach that is able to increase the adaptation of buildings in the city of Balikpapan according to the comfort level of the community.

Abstract

Waterfront areas have different architectural patterns of settlements in each city, so the resulting architectural patterns are also different depending on community activities and adaptation of settlements. This study aims to determine the architectural pattern of the waterfront settlements of Balikpapan City which were selected in the areas in Kelurahan Baru Ulu, Kelurahan Baru Tengah and Kelurahan Margasari on the waterfront. Descriptive analysis method uses data from observations and digitized satellite maps in the area studied, followed by a comparison of the theories of architectural patterns. This study found that in Kelurahan Baru Ulu, Kelurahan Baru Tengah and Kelurahan Margasari on the waterfront, the architectural patterns of settlements in Kelurahan Baru Ulu, Kelurahan Baru Tengah and Kelurahan Margasari on the waterfront were on the architectural pattern of land use forming a linear pattern, then on the architectural pattern The access road has an architectural pattern of angular or grid roads and the architectural pattern of the building mass has a constellation elongated pattern.

Abstract

Kota Balikpapan berada di pesisir teluk Balikpapan, potensi pertumbuhan ekonomi dan penduduk sangat pesat. Kawasan pesisir kota menjadi kawasan yang paling cepat perubahannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1)mengidentifikasi karakteristik tutupan lahan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan (2) mengidentifikasi karakteristik pola penggunaan lahan, dan penelitian ditutup dengan (3) mengidentifikasi karakteristik Kawasan tepi air Kelurahan Manggar Baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat analisis spasial menggunakan software Arcgis menggunakan data satelit Sentinel 2. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pada tepi air, tanaman Mangrove telah menurun sebesar 45% dari total tepi air Kelurahan Manggar Baru. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan alih fungsi lahan tepi air akan terus terjadi dan permukiman akan mendominasi seluruh kawasan. Kelurahan Manggar Baru menunjukkan terdapat 5 tipe kemiringan lahan yaitu memiliki elevasi 0%-8% yang lebih dari 40% dari total kawasan, kemudian disusul 8%-hingga 15% terdapat 20% dari total Kelurahan Manggar Baru. Klasifikasi pola penggunaan lahan pada Kelurahan Manggar Baru yaitu didominasi oleh permukiman penduduk, kemudian tanaman, yang kedua adalah tambak dan Mangrove yang memiliki area rendah dalam penggunaan lahan.

Abstract

The city of Balikpapan has a multipurpose building infrastructure that is intended to provide facilities for the community to hold art activities. The building is called the Balikpapan Arts Building. The activities of a multipurpose building must match the activities of the building. This study aims to determine how much influence the site has on the design of the Balikpapan Arts Building and its sustainability impact. This study uses a qualitative research paradigm using architectural site analysis tools with circulation, topography, zoning, visual, zoning, climate and regulatory aspects approaches. This study concludes that the influence of the site is very crucial to the shape of the design of the Balikpapan Arts Building, the aspects with the highest influence on the site of the Balikpapan Arts Building are visual, topographical and circulation aspects, while aspects that have a weak influence are regulation, climate and zoning.

Abstract

The Batakan Balikpapan Stadium is a landmark and important sports building located in East Balikpapan, the site location is in the eastern industrial area of Balikpapan city which is also a tourism and city development area. This study aims to identify the potential and problems in the condition of the Batakan Balikpapan Stadium site in terms of circulation, visuals, topography, climate zoning and regulation. The research uses a qualitative descriptive research paradigm to describe the strengths and weaknesses of the site. This study found that the condition of the Batakan Balikpapan Stadium site has great potential as a sports, recreation area and as a green open space by maximizing strengths in topography, circulation and regulatory aspects, then fixing weaknesses in visual and zoning aspects.

Abstract

Kota Balikpapan tumbuh menjadi Kota Modern dengan kelengkapan infrastruktur dasar dan infrastruktur penunjang yang bermacam-macam. Kota dituntut untuk memberikan pelayanan infrastruktur yang berkelanjutan dalam aspek infrastruktur jalan, gedung, ruang terbuka hijau hingga infrastruktur transportasi. Pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan ditujukan agar fasilitas yang telah dibangun dapat diakses oleh semua lapisan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi eksisting lapangan Tenis Indoor Balikpapan dalam aspek Analisa tapak dalam arsitektur. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma penelitian kualitatif dengan presfektif kontur, sirkulasi dan visual. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Lapangan Tennis Indoor Balikpapan memiliki kekuatan dalam memaksimalkan perancangan akses sirkulasi, dan kontur, namun terdapat kelemahan pada aspek visual yaitu tapak tidak memiliki nilai positif visual dari luar dan dari dalam

Abstract

Climate and the movement of the sun have a high influence on a building site. The Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center building is a landmark of the city of Balikpapan, This study aims to identify the condition of the movement of the sun on the site in a period of one year and how it impacts the surrounding environment. This study uses a qualitative paradigm approach with the sunearthtool software analysis tool, at the site of the Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center Building. This study concluded that the site location of the Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center Building is in the path of the sun's circulation, which peaks in the period from January to April at 250-110 degrees. In this period every day the sun shines fully in 12 hours. In the simulation, it was found that the highest time of exposure to the side of the building was at 09:00 am and 15:00 pm. The shape of the building is in the form of a circle/tube, resulting in maximum exposure to the sun evenly on both sides of the building.

Abstract

The growth of traffic flow at Province road Km. 18 of District of Penajam Paser Utara is increasing in every year. The road is crowded path with type 4 lane and 2 ways with a median (4/2 D). The road is main road for residential streets, education area, worship area and government area and that in peak hours is crowded. The study use the Indonesia Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI,1997) for analysis the results. The analysis show degree of saturation (DS): 0,30. Travelling Speed (V) of Light vehicle (V): 44.05 with level service B. From the results of assuming the traffic 5 years, it is obtained traffic volume: 1488 cpu/hours, the degree of saturation: 0.32, the travel speed of light vehicles: 44,05. The high volume of vehicle and the rate of barriers side contribute to the significant influence on the traffic performance along the Province Road Km. 18 of Penajam Paser Utara District. The alternative effective way is to reduce the side barrier. This way reduce effectively the value of degree of saturation to 0,29. The speed of light vehicles is 48.51 km /hours. The side barrier is low (L): 237 events.
