Abstract

Esophageal varices are dilated, tortuous veins that are usually found in the submucosa of the lower esophagus. Esophageal varicose veins can be life threatening if they do not get the right treatment so nurses are expected to have the knowledge to provide nursing care. Knowledge of nurse compliance in the care of patients with esophageal varices not only prevents bleeding but also increases the speed of patient recovery. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and nurse compliance in the care of patients with gastroduodenal varicose veins post ligation at RSCM. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative which uses correlation analysis design with cross-sectional approach. The sample is 44 respondents. Analysis of statistical tests using the Chi Square test. The results showed that the majority of nurses were aged 25-35 years (63.6%), female (68.2%), D3 education (65.9%), working length of 3-5 years (43.2%) adequate knowledge ( 45.5%) obedient nurses (68.2%). There is a relationship between knowledge and nurse compliance in the care of patients with gastro-duodenal varicose veins ligation with p value: 0.001 means p<α where value: 0.05. It is hoped that nursing services can facilitate efforts to increase nurses' knowledge regarding the care of patients with esophageal varices gastro duodenal ligation, so as to improve nurse compliance in the care of patients with esophageal varices gastro duodenal ligation and create SOPs for the care of patients with esophageal varices gastro duodenal ligation that must be known by all the nurses in the room.

Abstract

Adolescence, also called puberty, is a unique transitional period characterized by various physical, emotional and psychological changes. Adolescents are in a very sensitive situation to the influence of new values, especially for those who do not have the power to resist. They tend to be easier to adjust to the flow of globalization and the free flow of information which can lead to changes in deviant behavior. The impact of social media is as follows, adolescents become addicted to using social networks without paying attention to time limits, adolescents can access freely everything on social media until adolescents are at risk of having free dating behavior in the real world. The purpose of this study was to see the relationship between knowledge about reproductive health and risky dating behavior. This type of research is descriptive using a cross sectional approach.  The population in this study was adolescents aged 15 – 19 years. in RW 01 Rawa Terate, East Jakarta, there were 75 people based on the calculation of purposive sampling. The questionnaire used in this study was the Gutman scale with univariate analysis. The results of the statistical test of the level of knowledge  of reproductive health with risky dating behavior using Chi-Square, obtained Pvalue values of 0.003 < 0.05  and Odds Ratio 5.333. Thus, it can be interpreted that there is a relationship between reproductive health knowledge and dating behavior in adolescents.  Advice for adolescents in RW 01 Rawa Terate, it is hoped that adolescents can use social media well so that they can increase knowledge related to reproductive health and avoid risky dating.

Abstract

The increasing incidence of pressure ulcers needs to be handled by health workers, especially nurses in preventing pressure ulcers in the ward. The incidence of pressure ulcers in 2020 in Lantai 1 Anak Gedung A RSCM ranged from 0-2.8% and the highest rate for the last 2 years occurred in February 2021 at 3.8%. One way to prevent pressure ulcers is to detect the risk factors that can cause pressure ulcers in children using the Braden Q scale. Good nurse knowledge is needed in conducting Braden Q scale assessments in order to get appropriate results. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the level of knowledge of nurses about braden Q on Lantai 1 Anak Gedung A RSCM. This research is a quantitative research with correlative descriptive method involving 46 respondents using the total sampling technique method. Data collection uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there was no significant relationship between age, education level and length of work with nurses' knowledge of the Braden Q scale. The results of this study also showed that there was more of a role for nurses who had good knowledge of the Braden Q scale. As for age, level of education, experience did not affect the level of knowledge of nurses about braden Q.

Abstract

Neonates have a high risk of infection due to central venous catheter placement. One of the complications is Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection (CLABSI). CLABSI can be prevented by applying evidence-based guidelines during installation, maintenance and removal known as the CLABSI Bundle. Evidence-based policies and training help nurses improve their knowledge and practice of central vein care. The purpose of this study was to determine the educational effect of implementing the CLABSI Bundle on the knowledge and adherence of nurses in preventing CLABSI in neonates with central veins. This type of quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment approach. The research design used a pre and posttest design without a control group. The sample of this study were 56 nurses, using  the Kertjie and Morgan tables, collecting data using questionnaires and direct observation. Nurses' knowledge before being given education on the application of the CLABSI Bundle, namely having sufficient knowledge (75.0%) and after being given education had good knowledge (71.4%). Nurse compliance before being given education on the application of the CLABSI Bundle, namely the majority were obedient (76.8%) and after being given education obedience increased (91.1%). There is an effect of education on the application of the CLABSI Bundle on knowledge and nurse compliance before and after being given nursing education with the Wilcoxons test obtained pvalue: 0,000 (α:<0,05) and pvalue: 0.005 (α: <0.05). It is hoped that hospital management can facilitate regular training, carry out routine and scheduled supervision and audits so that nurses are encouraged to understand the importance of specific policies and documents used in neonates with central veins.
