Abstract

The lack of knowledge about journalistic writing, the lack of publication of news in the village, the lack of awareness from the community about writing a news story are the reasons for implementing the thematic service for the Kebumen UMNU KKN with the theme "Journalism is Fun". This training is a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Community Service and also provides learning experiences about journalistic writing to the community, especially IPNU-IPPNU students of Trikarso Branch and Trikarso Village Karangtaruna. Community service activities in the form of journalistic training include the delivery of material on Introductory Journalism Materials, News Writing Techniques, and Article Writing Techniques. The presentation of the training was carried out using lecture, question and answer methods, demonstrations. The participants also carried out practice in the form of news hunting and continued with compiling and writing news. The parties involved as speakers in this activity were Fathurohman Wahid as the editor of Kebumen Talk, Mugiono as the Head of Head of Kebumen Talk and Aby, a Tidar University student. Abstract

Blengorwetan Village, Ambal District, Kebumen Regency is an area with the potential for developing Kebumen PO cattle farms, but has problems in terms of fulfilling animal feed nutrients. The majority of farmers provide feed in the form of dry rice straw, which is low in protein, vitamins, and minerals, and high in crude fiber. Based on these problems, this community service activity aims to provide counseling and training on the manufacture of Urea Molasses Block (UMB) to farmers. Urea Molasses Block (UMB) is an animal feed supplement that serves to improve the nutritional value of animal feed; digestion and digestibility of animal feed substances will be more efficient and improved; consumption of ruminant feed will increase, and avoid vitamin and mineral deficiencies. The methods used include field surveys, discussions with village officials, socialization to increase the knowledge of farmers about UMB, and training in making UMB which is followed in a participatory manner by the community. Trials of giving UMB to livestock by the community show UMB is favored by livestock and can increase animal feed consumption. Based on the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded several things, namely (1) the training on making UMB has been successfully implemented with indicators of understanding and skills of cattle farmers increasing regarding UMB products and how to manufacture them, (2) UMB products produced are of sufficient quality and favored by livestock. , (3) further breeders wish to make UMB products independently for consumption by their own livestock, with the hope of increasing livestock productivity. Abstract

During this pandemic, many people have suffered from Covid-19 which has resulted in a decrease in family income. One way to strengthen household food security is by cultivating fish in buckets or commonly known as the Budidaya Ikan dalam Ember “Budikdamber” technique. This strategy does not require a large area and is easy for everyone to do. This is expected to be a solution to the problems experienced. This community service activity aims to provide information and skills for all elements of society that are formed in several groups, such as the PKK group, Rt/Rw, Muslim recitation group, and father recitation group in Kalisari village. The results obtained by the service partners from this service activity are that the catfish harvest is not carried out simultaneously for all buckets. Harvest catfish about 2-4 months of maintenance. While the kale harvest is done when the maintenance period is approximately 2-3 weeks with an average harvest of 1 bunch for 2 buckets. However, the next harvest is about 1-2 weeks with an average harvest of 1 bunch for 1 bucket. Keywords: Budikdamber, food security, economy, covid 19

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat UMNU Kebumen tahun 2021 telak dilaksanakan di desa Gebangsari, Kecamatan Klirong, Kabupaten Kebumen. Penduduk di desa Gebangsari bekerja sebagai pengrajin gerabah dan petani, namun kondisi ekonomi tergolong masih rendah karena permasalahan pemasaran gerabah dan kondisi lahan. Oleh sebab itu, pengabdian tematik ini membantu mengatasi masalah di desa Gebangsari melalui program tentang pelatihan dan pengembangan potensi desa Gebangsari di bidang kerajinan dan pertanian. Program tersebut meliputi workshop tentang pemanfaatan teknologi untuk pemasaran gerabah dan Pelatihan budidaya jambu kristal. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat melalui pemasaran gerabah dengan memanfaatkan media sosial dan budidaya jambu kristal, serta meningkatkan kreativitas masyarakat desa Gebangsari. Hasil dari kedua program tersebut yaitu masyarakat sangat berantusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang telah diselenggrakan. Masyarakat desa Gebangsari dapat secara langsung memanfaatkan media sosial untuk pemasaran gerabah dan melakukan praktik secara langsung cara budidaya jambu kristal dilapangan

Abstract

In linguistics, the language we speak is a reflection of ourselves. People who speak politely will show a good personality. On the other hand, people who speak harshly, cursing, and criticizing show a bad personality. This is what social media users often forget. Indifference, impolite language results in misunderstandings. In oral and written communication, the language used must pay attention to politeness. In this digital era, teenagers and adults dominate the use of social media. Unfortunately, there are still many cases of using language that is not polite on social media which has a bad impact on the perpetrators. One of the impacts is that the perpetrators are caught in legal problems because of the words they say on social media. The use of language that is not polite occurs because of the lack of awareness of social media users regarding patterns of language politeness, especially those who are still teenagers, so this activity aims to provide knowledge to teenagers about language politely on social media and knowledge of the ITE Law. The hope to be achieved from this activity is that teenagers in Sawangan Village, Leksono District, Wonosobo Regency can apply the use of polite language when using social media and avoid using language that is less polite so that they avoid legal cases. Abstract

Learning media has a role in the learning process. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide understanding and training to early childhood education teachers regarding Educational Game Tools (APE) from used goods to support the learning process. The method used in this service is training for early childhood education teachers at IGRA Kebumen Regency through clusters in each sub-district. The training is carried out in person or face to face for one day divided into three sessions, namely material, practice, and assessment. The results of this service activity are providing an understanding of Educational Game Equipment (APE) from used goods through training to teachers and producing several educational game tools media from used goods which have been presented by participants and have been assessed by the presenters who are lecturers from the Education study program. Abstract

All teachers are demanded to create conducive learning environments in order to yield effective learning. However, there are many teachers who have drawbacks of knowledge on the use of teaching methods and media to achieve this demand. This community service entitles “Pelatihan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris bagi Guru PAUD dan TK Se-kecamatan Karanganyar, Kebumen”. It aims to give insights to kindergarten or early childhood school teachers in order to be able to identify learning methods and media which suit their students to improve learning effectiveness. This training was conducted from 9 to 11 January 2019 in Karanganyar, involving 20 kindergarten teachers. Lecturing and simulating methods were used to conduct the training. The results of the training shows that trainees are able to comprehend and identify learning methods and media to improve learning effectiveness. Besides, there are three methods to be assumed more effective to use to improve learning namely total physical response, suggestopedia, and communicative approach. Finally, English songs were considered the most suitable media to be applied for kindergarten or early childhood learners. Keywords: Learning, English, effective, methods

Abstract

Waste is one of the unsolved problems. Waste originating from livestock is one of the problems faced by the residents of Ambalkliwonan Village, Kebumen Regency. This waste belongs to the type of organic waste that is left alone by cattle farmers and causes an unpleasant odor, still it can also drive the growth of disease-causing microorganisms in the surrounding environment. Waste from cow dung can be utilized by turning it into fertilizer. The service location is in Ambalkliwonan Village, Ambal District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. Some people who work as farmers and cattle breeders are targeted in community service programs. The objectives to be achieved from training activities and mentoring in the use of organic cow dung into organic fertilizer are to provide information and knowledge and raise awareness in the community about the use of cow dung so as not to cause environmental pollution and raise public awareness of the importance of using organic fertilizers so that it will minimize expenditure on the purchase of chemical fertilizers for rice plants. The method applied to this community service activity is by presenting material which is then carried out by direct practice to make organic and solid fertilizer. Then an evaluation of the products produced and all the processes carried out by the community. The results of community service activities show that community members of the training and mentoring program can make their own organic and solid fertilizer. This community service has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the importance of healthy and creative living, and the use of organic fertilizers in farming. Abstract

The problem that underlies this PkM activity is the lack of optimal competence of BRIN researchers in writing scientific articles for publication in reputable international journals. For this reason, this PkM activity aims to provide training on strategies for writing scientific articles for publication in reputable international journals. The method used is in the form of training and mentoring for BRIN researchers. The training is carried out online (online) through the zoom application, while discussions and consultations (assistance) are also carried out online through the Whatsapp application. This activity is carried out in four stages, including; preparation stage, implementation stage, discussion and consultation stage, and evaluation stage. Based on the results and discussion, it is shown that the trainees still experience problems in publishing scientific articles. Based on discussions and consultations, participants have high enthusiasm to be able to carry out quality research and publish in reputable international journals. Through this PkM activity, it is hoped that it will increase the capacity of BRIN researchers in writing quality scientific articles for international publications.. Abstract

In general, catfish farmers in Kebumen Regency, especially in Kawedusan Village use commercial floating pellets as feed. The use of this feed has several advantages, one of which is the rapid and uniform growth of fish. However, most of the catfish farmers complained about the small profits they received. These benefits are not comparable to the amount of energy and costs that have been incurred, thus threatening the sustainability of the breeder’s business activities. Another problem faced by farmers is the rapid dirty water of the pool, so that the frequency of replacement of water increases, which in turn increases the cost of electricity. When the partner is late in replacing the pool water, it can cause catfish disease that is difficult to control. Dirty water also makes the growth of catfish disrupted because of decreased appetite. The solution offered is by conducting counseling, training and mentoring the cultivation of organic vegetables using the aquaponics method, preparation of simple bookkeeping, calculation of production costs, and product pricing strategies. Selected plants cultivated during the activity are mustard greens (caisim) and kale. Both of these vegetables are of interest to the surrounding community and are suitable to be planted in lowland areas such as Kebumen and have a short planting period (± 40 days). The output of this activity is in the form of improving the skills of partners in vegetable cultivation in an aquaponics manner, compiling simple bookkeeping, calculating production costs, and determining the selling.Keyword: training, aquaponics, land
