Abstract

This research is entitled Public Relations Communication Strategy applied by PRONTO Bar & Resto in increasing consumers. Nowadays the nightly entertainment business is one of the businesses that is quite developed in Indonesia, especially Medan. Clubs or bars are now found in almost places in Medan. As time goes by, various Music Clubs or Bars have been offered to attract public interest in general. So we need a strategy so that companies can continue to grow and be able to face competition. The research object is PRONTO Bar & Resto, this company has an advantage compared to other places by raising the concept of Sporty Bar.The research method used in this study is a descriptive research method, with a qualitative approach. Data obtained from the results of direct interviews with the General Manager of Operations and Chief Marketing Communication, it is also supported by some data from documentation and observation.This study aims to describe the public relations communication strategy carried out by PRONTO Bar & Resto in increasing consumers based on the mix marketing and the elements existing in the promotion mix, namely advertising, sales promotion and word of mouth. Advertising activities are carried out by utilizing Facebook, Instagram and as a direct communication medium with the public, so that communication can be done more communicatively. Promotion stage is done by giving discounts for consumer members and several special packages to attract consumers. Then in the "word of mouth" stage, the company makes a community of consumers in the city of Medan.

Abstract

Television is a mass media that is currently widely used by the public to meet their information needs. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of the community, television stations provide news programs that provide information about various events in the lives of people. Metro TV does not only broadcast national and international news but is obliged to broadcast local news. Therefore in this study the writer wants to know how Metro TV Medan Bureau broadcasts its local news. This research method used is descriptive qualitative paradigm; the author only explains the process of producing news on the program North Sumatra Face in Metro TV Medan Bureau. The research informants are staffs who carry out the production of the North Sumatra Face program news. The results of the study explained that the North Sumatra Faces program was carried out in stages about the manuscript coverage from contributors to a news script spruced up in the news room, then it would be submitted to the editor for editing news images according to the script. The editor censors news images related to the elements of violence, pornography, blood, corpses, narcotics, and things that are prohibited in the KPI Act (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission) while the inhibiting factors are technical problems in the camera and computer that are in the studio and conducive field conditions.

Abstract

This study aims at discussing the marketing communication strategy used by Department of Culture in introducing the Dor Ketoprak Festival as a local wisdom in Medan and implementing the marketing communication strategy in introducing the Dor Ketoprak Festival. Technique of collecting the data used is field research using obsertvation and interview method. Data analysis was done by qualitative research approach. Research findings show that there was a lack of preparedness in the planning and implementation, which still seems to lack data and coordination with the Ketoprak Dor group, it is not done yet a training has not been made to the Ketoprak Dor artists, as well as not yet approaching and establishing good relationships and cooperation with related parties such as the executive, private parties, the press, and others to strive to further introduce ketoprak art and culture to the general public and tourists in particular.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the role of intercultural communication carried out by the congregation of the GMII Syalom Church Medan having different cultural backgrounds and finding out the supporting and inhibiting factors in conducting intercultural communication carried out by the congregation of GMII Syalom Medan Church. Research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, document studies, observations and literature. The design of this research is expected to provide abstract and general answers to questions arising in a basic research. Research f of this indings show that (1) The patterns of intercultural communication carried out by the congregations of the Church of GMII Syalom Medan with different cultural backgrounds are in the form of symbolic intercultural communication patterns and direct intercultural communication patterns (2) Supporting factors contained in this intercultural communication process are the ability to communicate, attitudes to accept each other differences, friendly attitude and courtesy, the ability to adapt, a sense of family in the congregation, interest when communicating, and understanding of the Word of God. Whereas the inhibiting factors of intercultural communication are individual character, perception of communication actors, influence of other cultures, and language differences.

Abstract

Camera angle in photography and videography is very decisive in the delivery of messages and information that will be presented. In video recording or shooting, there are often cases or wrong angle incidents in coverage by cameramen. Where wrong angle events can cause different perceptions and opinions from viewers who are not directly proportional to the information that the television station wants to convey or broadcast. The angle error there are cameras that have a big impact and there are also small ones that are not so influential but still interfere in the process of shooting rules let alone in covering journalistic news. 80 percent of the use of detail is closeup, extreme closeup, and medium closeup. 20 percent only use wide angle like Longshot and Mediumshot. General also uses angle eye level, high angle, low angle, bird eye view, and frog eye. And in terms of factors which inhibits the nature of our application angle era is the lack of practice and understanding, lack of information seeking from professional media, and difficulty in placing motivation of the script with the angle to be used.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the effect of interpersonal communication of news staff on the quality of news in LPP TVRI North Sumatera. The sample used in this study are as many as 53 people, while the data collection by means of direct interviews guided by the questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted with t-test (partial test). From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that interpersonal communication has a significant partial effect on the quality of news. Interpersonal communication variables have a positive and significant effect on news quality on Television of Indonesian Republic (TVRI). The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.387, which means that 38.7% of interpersonal communication variables can improve the quality of news. While the rest is explained by other variables not included as variables in this study
